System stopped cooling after third service call again. Called another company that fixed the problem for a third the cost. Also discovered that they had been overcharging for products and service for several years. Avoid at all costs.

    Geothermal Professionals

This a long overdue review of Dan Fant and his company.  We decided to purchase a geothermal system during the summer of '08, purchase and installation completed in Nov '08.

We researched a LOT!  We even had three vendors give us quotes.  Dan took the time to explain the systems to us.  Thoroughly went through our home to put together the right system for our needs.  He kept telling us that he "over builds" the system so we never have any regrets.  Nearly seven full years later and with the past two winters behind us: we have no regrets!

Another vendor came in, briefly looked around the house and gave a us a quote for a system that would not have stood up during the past few winters.  It was almost comical dealing with this vendor as I had already met and talked with Dan.  Did I say he explains everything?  Since Dan had explained what he wanted to do and why, I was better informed when meeting the other vendors.  As I asked the others questions they treated my like an ignorant kid as if I didn't know what I was talking about.

To be blunt honest: Dan wasn't the lowest bid, in fact he was the highest of our quotes.  When we sat down and compared what we were getting versus the others, it was actually an easy decision.  In fact Dan and his crew were so respectful of our landscape and house, and how they cleaned up after themselves, it was one of the easiest checks I've ever written.

The crew showed up on a Friday afternoon to pre-position equipment.  Monday morning they started.  By Friday, dinner time, Dan was in our basement sweeping as the electrician was finishing: done!  The whole week was enjoyable as they worked.  They didn't get perturbed as I or my neighbors watched them work.  Many of my neighbors commented how amazed they were how little damage was done to my yard versus other installs they've seen. I was too.  To say that Dan and his crew does quality work is an understatement.  They took pride in doing our job.  This is an easy recommendation to write for anyone looking to make the change to geothermal!

Since 2008, we've had only one minor issue the system itself.  It was a manufacture issue and not a Geothermal fault.  In fact when we called Geothermal Professionals office that the system wasn't running right, they contacted the manufacture and worked the warranty with them.  Then they promptly came out and got the parts replaced.  That was probably 5 years ago.  We do have them come in for general maintenance to check the system twice a year and haven't had any problems since.

Excellent Customer Service! Helped us get our heat back on fast and at a fair price and did not take advantage of us in our time of desperation. A special Thank You to Todd and Tanner, because of you Gilbert Heating has my future business. ***Here's how it all went down: I woke up in the morning to find out we had no heat so I called the company whose sticker was on my furnace - Big Mistake. They sent a technician out and diagnosed the problem as a bad inducer. The quote to replace the inducer was $700. At that price it made me consider putting that money towards the purchase of a new furnace to replace my 12 year old furnace. Which is what I decided to do at which point this other company advised me that they would not be able to install the new furnace until Friday/Saturday. I didn't have heat, so I asked what I what am I supposed to do about heat until Friday/Saturday. They offered to replace the part in my old furnace for to get me through the next 3 or 4 days, until they could install my new furnace, for an additional $150 to the cost of the new furnace. Basically, renting me the part for 3 or 4 days for $150. So, that is when I called Gilbert Heating and another company (who never did call me back) to see if they could install a new furnace sooner to avoid this additional $150 charge. Todd from Gilbert Heating called me back almost immediatly and made arrangements to come right over and quote the furnace replacement. He looked at the furnace and said he would love to sell me a new furnace but I don't need one. He said our furnace looked clean and just needs a new inducer which he could have installed same day for $450 ($250 less than the company I paid $80 to diagnose the problem). Tanner showed up an hour later and replaced the inducer and our heat was back on. Calling Gilbert Heating saved our family vacation scheduled for April. Thank You Gilbert Heating!

We recently moved to Huron and the house we purchased has a gas water heating system which we have never had any dealings with.  When it seemed to take a very long time to heat the house we were concerned.  I called Gilbert Heating and Air Conditioning because there were tags on the furnace showing that they had previously serviced it.  Even though I had never used this company before, they scheduled me for 8:00 am the next morning.  This is a much better turnaround time than I have ever received before from any service company.  A technician named Tanner showed up on time and was very helpful.  Although there turned out not to be anything wrong with the furnace, Tanner gave us some tips and explained the heating method to us.

Sears was the highest bidder but they would install new unit within 3 days after contract signing and I have 18 Nos. topay.  The others would be able to come out within 2 - 3 weeks, if not longer plus Sears has an unconditional guarantee.
