    NRG Masters
I contacted NRG masters as they're listed as an authorized insulation contractor through the DEO energy rebate program. They completed the job in one day and were very professional. I received quotes from several other contractors and NRG was a little lower and since the job was relatively straightforward, I went with them. Happy with the results. Nice job.

    M R Plank Roofing Co
I emailed M R Plank and described the job in detail (small insulation repair needed in a hard to reach space, maybe 12 square feet), and they said they would send someone out to quote the job. When the morning of the appointment rolled around, the estimator called me and asked me to describe the job again, then he told me they won't quote anything less than a thousand square feet. I rearranged my work schedule to be home today, why couldn't they have told me this when I emailed a description of the job, or why couldn't the estimator call me the day before instead of an hour before he was supposed to be here? How a company handles estimates speaks a lot about the quality of the job they will do. These guys get an F.

    NRG Masters
Called NRG and spoke to the office staff / operator. They took my information but seemed uninterested in the job ("Oh that's all you need?") and promised to have a technician call me to schedule the job. No one ever called and I didn't bother to call back. If you don't want my money that's ok - I'll give it to someone else.

    ABC Insulation
As it turns out, you purchase $49 in order to get $200 off the service, The service was quoted at $1,800!  Which was about $1,200 more than I expected.  So I lost the $49.  Live and learn...

Jeremiah came to my home to provide an estimate for insulation in the attic.  He arrived on time but was scruffy and dirty looking, not professional in appearance.  I asked him to use boot covers or to remove his dirty work boots so he could walk around in my house.  He didn't come prepared with boot covers, so he removed his boots.

When we got to the attic access, he said he would go up in the attic with just his socks on to assess what needed to be done.  I insisted that he put his work boots back on to do that, so he wouldn't be tracking particles of attic insulation from his socks all through my house after he was done up there.

His dirty appearance and lack of care for my home left me with the impression that his team would be equally sloppy and careless in their workmanship.  In addition, other insulation companies provided a more thorough assessment of the attic to include air sealing all the crevices for better insulation value.  Jeremiah did not provide this.  I crossed this company off the list as potentials after I received the estimate.

    A & J Insulation Inc
The service was great. They were no problems whatsoever. They were a good company to work with. They were timely. I have no complaints. There were additional charges to the $445 Big Deal cost. I essentially paid twice that because I had them do the entire attic versus the Big Deal was just for a certain amount. I needed double the amount. They credited me that amount that it needed and then, I paid retail price for the remainder. The guy that gave the estimate was very nice and timely with the appointment. The crew that came out to do the work was very nice, cleaned up after themselves, and did a great job. I had no complaints. As far as the company itself, the product, what they are selling, what they are doing, and the installation, it was fine. I would recommend them. They came out probably within a week or two after I purchased the Big Deal. It was fairly quick.

He said the gutters were good. He also checked my attic for adequate insulation and we did. They did everything they could for us. I really depend on them and have used them since 2005 when they did our roof. They are prompt, courteous and quality of work is excellent.

    Comfort MD
Since moving in to our home a little over a year ago, our upstairs had been significantly colder during the wintertime due to poor insulation in the attic.  Leigh from Comfort MD, Inc. did a thorough quote, and took the time to explain the process through which he would go.
Comfort MD came to our house to add insulation to our attic and basement.  My wife was at home when they came, and she told me that they were very efficient, polite, and quick.  They took the time to explain what they were doing, and even noticed a safety concern with a light fixture when insulating our attic.  After noticing the concern, they took care of the problem immediately with no extra charge.
What I was most impressed with, however, was the immediate difference I noticed in our upstairs after the insulation had been put in place.  I do a lot of work in our office upstairs, and would have to bundle up during the winter due to the cold temperatures.  Leigh told us that we should notice a significant difference right away after the insulation was in place.  He wasn't kidding!  Working upstairs is much more comfortable now with the job that Comfort MD completed.  We also noticed that our furnace kicks on less than it used to due to the insulation keeping our heat in.  We can't wait to see the difference in our gas bill.
Overall, we would highly recommend Comfort MD for anybody who needs an insulation job in their home.  Good experience and good people.

    Bakai Construction LLC
Bakai Construction added a lot of additional insulation to our existing attic space in our one story home, including the cathedral ceiling areas. They also installed insulation in the 3 car garage where there was no insulation at all. They also sealed around fan vents to prevent drafts and added baffles for additional air circulation in the attic. They replaced insulation in a few wall spaces where electricians from another company had removed it and not replaced it during a separate remodeling project. Barney and his crew always conduct themselves in a professional, respectful manner. They took great care to avoid getting any mess in the interior of our home. Our home immediately felt warmer, and it cut down on any draftiness. We recommend them with confidence. We feel that he is very honest and ethical in his business practices.

    Bakai Construction LLC
We have used Bakai construction in the past, and we continue to have them back. This time, they removed an outdated built in entertainment center, and they dry walled the area. Electrical wiring was relocated. They also removed a platform in our laundry room that was in the washer/dryer area. They did drywall repair and added a tile floor in the area to match the existing tiled floor. They do beautiful tile work. They took extra care and precautions to control all drywall dust due to my allergies. They are very respectful of our property, and they clean up well each day. They are returning next week to add insulation to our attic areas and 3 car garage.
