Glass Repair reviews in Hudson

The finished product is fantastic, everything we wanted came true.  The initial contact and review of work were very professional.  We chose Dan, the owner of Johnson Home Improvement Services, because he was professional and impressed us with his confidence and knowledge of what needed to be done.  We had a good idea of what we wanted and Dan's suggestions helped us clarify our ideas and wants into a cohesive project.
I cannot say enough about the work ethic of Dan and "P.J.", his helper.  They showed up when they said they would, worked a full day without breaks and "lunch on the run".   The project was completed on time and within the budget. a testament to Dan's initial estimates. They were courteous and professional always.  Disruption to your daily life during projects like this can be nerve wracking. This was easy, little disruption.
The quality of their work was SUPERB.  They dealt with the many materials required with no problem.  The tile work was outstanding and beautifully done.  The finish work is precise and detailed, Dan always consulted with us when design or esthetics were concerned.
The end result is beautiful and we are enjoying our new Bathrooms.  I can and will recommend Johnson Home Improvement Services to anyone who is considering a remodeling job in their home.  I give them an "Excellent" rating in all categories with no reservation.

The Glass Guru was supposed to replace some shower clips on my glass shower doors. Now admittedly the existing clips were not easily replaced and would require a bit of research and creative thinking on the part of the Glass Guru, however they indicated they could complete the project, order new clips and then come out a couple weeks later to install them.  So after 3 weeks I received a phone call that the clips were in and they would come out to install the new glass door clips. When the men arrived, the clips were not the right size... not even close, and had they taken the time to measure properly this time wouldn't have been wasted.  So we discussed other alternatives and solutions and the left and indicated they would call in a couple days.  Well I never received a phone call, so I had to call their office and leave a message.  I received a call back a few days later indicating that new clips were on order and I would be notified when they arrived.  After another 3 weeks I received a phone call that the clips were in and set up another appointment to have them installed.  Well big surprise these clips also did not work.  I let them remove one of then clips from the shower door to take to a parts dealer, and was told I would receive a phone call in 24 hours on whether or not they could locate a better option, and if not they could put a metal track on the door.  After waiting 5 days I never received a call back, so I called the main office and spoke to a manager (assuming), who brought me up to speed on the status of the parts dealer, and assured me someone would call the very next day.  So I waited another week and no one called me back.  I just called one final time this week and left an urgent message on the machine, but I guess no one listens to the messages or cares because I have not received a call back.
I had to initially put down a deposit of this work for $237, and am now going to have to work to have my money returned to me since they could not complete the full service we agreed upon.  I would NOT recommend this company to anyone.  Not only are they completely unresponsive, but the service providers never offered to take off their shoes walking around in my home, and they didn't carry simple tools with them to work on the job (they had to borrow a screwdriver and a drill from me).

They were very easy to work with.  Called and they were out within a couple of days.  Work was well done.  They are very professional and courteous.
They will be the first call I make if I need any type of glass/mirror repair in the future.

Arrived promptly as scheduled. 1 individual worked outside and 1 individual worked in the basement. They completed the work in about 3 hrs. No issues. They cleaned up inside and out and were on their way. New windows look very good and i am pleased with their work

It went very well.  Al sent over a couple guys who were professional and courteous.  I asked them to take off their shoes and from that moment on, they made sure to do so every time they exited and entered the house (and it was raining)!
They removed my old mirrors - which were huge - and replaced them with a beveled edged mirror (with cut outs for my electric sockets).  Everything went smoothly and the new shower doors are keeping my floor dry and they open and close like a dream.
I've already sent them over to my mother-in-law's place (yes, I like her) and she said she's going to have them replace a couple windows.
I'd definitely work with them again!  ...and, have already recommended them.  They are a locally-owed, down-to-earth company - and they know their stuff!

Istopped by Portage Glass to ask them to cut a mirror that had broken down    My plan was to use a shortened version of the mirror on the wall.   Al (the owner) quickly cut it for me, put it back in my van, told me that he would dispose of the scraps, and charged me nothing for his efforts. In the past I've taken them scraps of  glass and mirrors that I've found at yard sales to be cut to a particular size and they've always been very exact.  I appreciate their honest appraisals when they recommend not cutting something because the glass's material would cause it to shatter.  They've cut holes accurately in mirrors for outlets for me.  I've gone to Portage Glass for years and have always found them to be helpful, courteous, and fairly priced.  They are super-friendly.

We wanted both doors to open in and out, but we realized that the arched doorway in one shower made a dual swing door impossible. Joe was wonderful in working with us to find an acceptable way to make the door work. He had to have the glass re-made. Many other less professional or honest contractors would have blamed us for the problem or left us with a poorly working door, but not Joe. He is the real deal.

We went to the store and looked at the products. We went over the different types of stalls that could be used. When our construction was ready for the shower stall we called Mike Selby back and he took the measurements and told me he would call the next day with some prices for the different stalls. He called as promised. We went on vacation the following week and called Mike upon our return and asked him to order the glass for our chosen stall. He did, and the work was done quickly and cleanly. Instructions were given on when to begin use of the shower and how and when to begin cleaning it. I was extremely pleased with the price and quality of the shower as well as the installation of it. Many thanks to Mike and his crew.
