Dentistry reviews in Huber Heights

Very helpful office staff.  Hygienist was thorough.  Dentist listened well.  Insurance billing was smoother than anticipated.  Though I get anxious about dental visits, my fears were eased and I will definitely return.

They x-rayed the tooth first and told me it could be saved.. I just needed a root canal and a crown. The root canal went great . I will return for the crown. I must say I had gone to two other Dentists and they never mentioned they could save my tooth. A very caring Dental Practice. I went to the office in Huber Heights. North Park Dental.

I was scheduled for a routine dental cleaning. However, they spent so much time measuring my gums, explaining the concerns about gum disease, and telling me that they would have to take extra time to remove tartar from below my gum line that they did not have time to actually perform the services that I was scheduled for and I would have to reschedule.  This raised a couple of issues for me:
    (1) Like their time, my time is valuable. I made an appointment for a service, showed up early to the appt, and expected the service to be performed. It was not.
    (2) More importantly, I did not have confidence that the dental advice I was given was accurate nor in my best interest.
I've had some amazing dentists in the various places I've lived over the years, and I have a high bar for my dental care. I've also been blessed with strong, straight, white teeth that have required very little dental care beyond routine cleanings, so the story I was given at Kondas' office didn't align with my past experience.  Additionally, the only way I can describe the feeling I had in Kondas' office is that they are always trying to "up sell" everything -- similar to going to a car dealership to buy a car. Absolutely not the way I want to be treated by my dentist.
Interestingly, when I shared my experience with my husband, he had been feeling the same way about his experience with Kondas' office, and we mutually agreed not to go back.
We've since found a new dentist in Dayton, with whom I'm beyond pleased. They are a family dentistry that focuses on patients and dental health and are a much better fit for our family. During my new patient appointment they not only measured my gums but also cleaned my teeth. Funny enough, my mouth is perfectly fine. No gum disease concerns at all, and no "special" care/ second appointment needed to remove plaque below the gum line.
Bottom line, I would not recommend Dr. Kondas' office for dental care.

Coyne Dentistry was everything we'd been looking for in a dentist! Easy to make appointments, super friendly staff, wonderful dentists. The office was clean, bright, and cheerful. My appointment went by in a flash, which is saying something for a dental appt. I was very pleased with the care and service I received, and I'm thrilled to have found our family dentist going forward!
    Highly recommend this office.

Three members of my family have used this dentistry practice and none of us want to go back based on each of our own experiences. When it's just a routine cleaning and x-ray, all is well. The hygienists are skilled and friendly. That said, here is a list of why we'll never go back, and neither should you.

    - Consistently late, across the board. I am on time, every time, which means at this office, a minimum of a half hour wait, every time, often more.
    • - Husband needed a crown replaced. He was measured and it was ordered, but it fit badly and fell out. Replacement was measured, ordered, and this one fit badly and fell out. Once, you can blame the place that makes crowns from the mold provided by the dentist's office; twice, you have to wonder how skilled the mold-maker is.
    - Daughter had a cavity and filling. Less than a year later, the filling is broken and falling out.
    - Office staff screwed up our plan, placing our daughter as the account holder, which messed up billing. When she came under her own plan, it took a year for them to remove her from ours on our paperwork; she still was listed as our account holder even though they also had her on her own standalone plan.
    - When they finally got her off of our account, they reversed our account numbers between my husband and me, such that when I made an appointment for myself, when I arrived, they'd pulled his record. I could not be seen until they found my chart, which they could not do because they file by account number. They asked me to fill out new patient paperwork so I could be seen, and they assured me they'd get it all straightened out. I did not believe them, and told them I would not return.

I have been using them for a couple of years, and I have no complaints. They are professional, they will schedule an appointment, and they will call and remind you. They stay on top of things. I like their professionalism.

The staff are very friendly and put you at ease, especially considering I have a HUGE fear of the dentist! The dentist (Greg) has incredible bedside manner, a little friendlier than normal, which lends itself in putting a person at ease. I had an estimate for some dental work which is higher than the other dentist offices around, but considering that this is a and quot;bells and whistlesand quot; type of establishment, it is not suprising that the cost is a little higher.
Also had a cleaning which was the best ever!

Went to this dentist because of some dental issues. Receptionist was not friendly, not mean either, just a and quot;whateverand quot; attitude. The dentist seemed rushed and did not really listen to my concerns. All of those concerns is why I went to another dental establishment.

Dr. Hagerty and his Dental Hygenist (Karen) were great.  Both were very friendly and welcoming.  Karen was excellent cleaning my teeth.  Dr. Hagerty showed me, in a mirror, every toothe he had concern with.  My husband and I both went on the same day  and he was very pleased with his experience as well.  Dr. Hagerty has two offices: the other one is located in Huber Heights.  I am so glad we found this dental office!  I highly recommend him!
On the day we went they were running about 30 minutes late.  However, I don't expect that to be the norm.

My first visit was July 2011. They took Xrays and cleaned my teeth. I was told I had 3 cavities, one in a molar on my left bottom side, by Dentist Dr. Rannes. He said that I had a small fracture in one of my molars and really should have 3 of my teeth crowned. They were 3 teeth next to each other on my lower left jaw. The cost was estimated at $3,000. I do not have dental insurance, and did not agree to it at that time. In April 2012 I returned for teeth cleaning, and this time I was seen by Dr. Robinette. She also said that i should have those 3 teeth crowned. I do not know why I agreed to have that done!!! I guess I assumed the dentist knew what was best for me~~~big mistake!! Afterwards, I had to return numerous times for "adjustments" because I could not chew on that side of my mouth, at all !!! This went on for almost a year. I should have just had the tooth with the fracture done, and said no to the other two, which just had "wear". I began to suspect that I had been talked into having unnecessary, expensive procedures done. By March of 2013, they had ground the teeth down to where i could actually chew with those teeth (but carefully!). I was there to get my teeth cleaned again March 2013. It was time for Xrays (which I refused to have done) and the annual measuring of my gum receding. Well, they said I needed to have scaling and planing of my teeth because my gum lines were receding. This would have cost $381. Oddly enough, my worst readings were around the 3 teeth that had been crowned~~~because part of the procedure involves pushing the gum line down as far as possible!! Well, they REFUSED to do a regular cleaning on my teeth, because they said LEGALLY if i had any gum receding, they had to do the scaling and planing procedure. They told me that twice. So I left without getting my teeth cleaned. I have since changed to a new dental office.
The staff of this office is nice, and I really liked the dental hygenist. Dr. Robinette seems capable. I just feel that I was being pushed into having procedures that I didnt really need. I totally regret having those 3 teeth crowned.
I wrote a complaint at Bright Now Dental's web site, and i actually got a response from Heather Meade, Operations Manager. She said she reviewed my chart with Dr. Robinette and they feel that what was done was appropriate and necessary. Well, I'll be getting a second opinion on that next time I see my new dentist.
