    I TOOK MY CAMERA TO THEM IN FEB AND THEY DID TAKE SEVERAL WEEKS TO FIX THE CAMERA. I CALLED THEM SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY SAID THE PARTS WERE NOT IN. AFTER ANOTHER CALL THEY SAID I COULD COME AND PICK IT UP AND IT WORKS PERFECTLY AND THEY DID NOT CHARGE ME A DIME.

    Dan with World of Photography is fantastic!!! Gave me some great advice on how to get around some software issue I was having with a camcorder I purchased elsewhere.  Helped me find inexpensive replacement parts that the "other" store wanted to charge me 5 times more for. I will go here for all of my future camera equipment needs!!

    $25 UPFRONT FEE TO DIAGNOSE PROBLEM, WHICH IS THEN APPLIED TO COST OF REPAIR. THEY NEVER CALLED ME WITH AN ESTIMATE OF CHARGES AFTER THEY FOUND THE PROBLEM, SO THEY DIDNT CHARGE ME ANY MORE (IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ANOTHER $50). ALSO REMOVED A TAPE FROM A BROKEN VCR, AND ADVISED THE COST TO REPAIR THE VCR IS MORE THAN A NEW ONE COSTS. ANDREW DID A GREAT JOB FOR US!

    My video camera stopped working and I took it to Camtronics to have it looked at. They diagnosed it with a failed circuit board and ordered parts to replace it. After numerous attempts stretching out over a months time, they could not get it to work. William informed me that I should call Sony - he told me what I should say and apologized for not being able to repair it. I asked him how much his time was going to cost me -- he extended his hand and said it was free because he couldn't fix it. I offered two more times to pay him for his time and he asked me to remember him in the future and sent me on my way.

    Employees at the store were friendly and helpful both when I dropped off and picked up camcorder. When I picked the camera up, the work summary sheet stated that standard yearly maintenance had been performed on the camcorder. It also stated that to prevent video from being washed out, I should turn off the "BACK LIGHT" feature. No repair was done to correct auto-exposure feature. The "BACK LIGHT" feature was not the cause of the auto-exposure problems. I have never used the feature, and I have verified that the auto-exposure problem still exists, both with the "BACK LIGHT" feature on and off. I will have to take the camcorder in for additional service to see if I can get the auto-exposure repaired.

    I CALLED AND WAS TOLD THAT IF I BROUGHT IN MY CAMERA SOMEONE WOULD LOOK AT IT AND GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE. I WENT IN A HALF HOUR BEFORE CLOSING AND WAS TOLD THE TECH WAS OUT, BUT TO LEAVE THE CAMERA AND THEY WOULD LOOK AT IT IN THE MORNING AND CALL ME. I CALLED AT NOON, AFTER HEARING NOTHING. THEY TOLD ME THE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS, THE COST AND THAT IT WOULD TAKE ABOUT 7-10 DAYS TO FIX. AFTER 2 WEEKS I CALLED AND WAS TOLD IT WAS GIVING THEM SOME PROBLEMS AND IT WOULD BE ANOTHER WEEK. FIVE DAYS LATER THEY CALLED TO SAY IT WAS READY. THE CAMERA WORKS FINE. THE PRICE WAS $5.00 HIGHER THAN THE ESTIMATE, BUT THEY WERE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND FRIENDLY. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN.

    I dropped of a broken camcorder to be repaired, and Camtronics kept the machine for over 2 months and never were able to fix it. They did not call to let me know it was not repairable, so I assumed it was being repaired. In fairness, they did not charge me, I just wish they would have contacted me sooner rather than later about the camcorder, so I could have purchased another one.

    STRANGE SERVICE. I QUESTIONED HOW THEY COULD KNOW WHAT EACH OF THE DIFFERENT PROBLEMS WOULD COST TO REPAIR AND HOW THEY COULD KNOW THE COST OF DIFFERENT PARTS. THEY SAID THEY JUST KNEW. AFTER 9 DAYS THEY CALLED AND SAID THE 2002 MODEL WOULD COST MORE TO FIX THAN TO REPLACE. IT NEEDED A NEW PC CARD/CHIP. I RE-QUESTIONED MY $155 ESTIMATE AND THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T KNOW THE PROBLEM. DUH! (SO WHY THE $155 ESTIMATE ON BOTH?). I TOOK THE 2000 MODEL AND AFTER 11 DAYS (8/29) CALLED TO GET A STATUS, "TECHNICIAN LOOKING AT IT." 9/1(FOUR 4 DAYS LATER)"TECHNICIAN STILL LOOKING AT IT". THEY RE-ITERATED THAT IT WOULD COST $155 BUT DIDN'T KNOW THE PROBLEM YET. I'VE HAD IT! I'M JUST BUYING A NEW CAMCORDER. THESE PEOPLE SHOULDN'T GIVE ESTIMATES BEFORE THEY KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS! I'M PICKING UP MY CAMCORDER AFTER THEY RE-ASSEMBLE IT! I HAVE SINCE HEARD GOOD THINGS ABOUT ELECTRASOUND CAMCORDER REPAIR. THEY CHARGE $30 TO ASSESS THE PROBLEM AND APPLY THAT TO ANY SERVICE CHARGES.

    ORIGINALLY TOOK IN FOR DISTORTED PICTURE RECORDING. COMPANY SAID IT WOULD BE $200 TO FIX; HELD UNIT FOR MONTHS, RETURNED IT AND CLAIMED IT WAS FIXED. UNIT STILL DIDNT WORK, MEMBER RETURNED IT FOR ADDITIONAL WORK. COMP. TOLD MEMBER AN ADDITIONAL $200 WOULD FIX IT AND HELD UNIT FOR SEVERAL MORE MONTHS. PROBLEM WAS STILL OCCURRING WHEN MEMBER RECEIVED IT BACK. TOLD MEMBER THE RECORDING HEADS WERE SHOT AND WOULD REQUIRE ANOTHER $200. MEMBER WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED.
