    The tech (Chris) showed up promptly at the appointment time. He was uniformed and had booties for his shoes, both of which gave me a boost of confidence. Chris was pleasant, professional and patient with my questions....all of which he answered. He walked me through what the service entailed and why each thing was being done. He also gave me all the options for continuing service (which I selected). It's only been a day or two, but I can already see that the spiders are pretty much gone. We'll see if they stay that way, but even if they don't, Chris let me know that all I had to do is give them a call and they would come back out. I compared this service with several others including a number of national brands that you see advertised on TV. After researching the others and speaking to most of them on the phone, I got the best vibe from 1st Response. My gut was right. Whereas the national brands treated me almost like an inconvenience, the whole 1st Response team made me feel as though they valued my business and were going to work to earn it. The communication from the company was much appreciated. I got periodic emails and the day before, I got an automated call to remind me of the appointment. I would definitely recommend.

They provided the service on the originally scheduled day and left a very comprehensive summary of the treatment provided. Steve Miller, the technician does an outstanding job to explain the treatment.

    We still had ant problem about 2 weeks after the application so I downrated them to a B. However, the owner came out the morning of the day I called them about the recurring ant problem. He reapplied insecticide in problem areas inside and additionally applied it outside. Owner was extraordinarily nice and helpful and explained the process. No problem since so I'm very satisfied. -:) For the first application, the gentleman was very nice and accommodating upon arrival, but he did not call before he came which is what I had asked them to do. I was not ready for him to arrive when he did arrive, but he was kind and waited until I was ready for him to make the application.

    The technicians, Steve and Ryan, were very professional and provided much information about how how the services and applications work. They were great. The service agreement is a one year commitment, consisting of an initial treatment, inside and outside, then four quarterly treatments of the outside only (unless you see pests inside, which they said they will return to treat again). They just completed the initial treatment yesterday, so I do not know if it will be effective. I did not do competitive comparisons, but the service seems kind of expensive.

    I did not have them do the work. I called to ask some questions before buying the deal offered on Angie's List. He assured me they come out 4 times a year. I thought, "Wow. What a great deal." He wanted my bank account number but I refused. When I said I'd just go back to Angie's List and pay for the deal there he accepted my credit card. The problem is, when I got the "contract" by email I saw that it said I had agreed to 5 visits at $119 each and that if I canceled after the first treatment I would owe for that treatment PLUS a $100 cancellation fee. It also stated that I had only 3 days to cancel the contract. This upset me. During the call, he didn't make it clear that I would be paying $119 for each visit, he did not mention that I was agreeing to 5 visits, and he didn't say anything about the fact that I was agreeing to a contract with them. I canceled the next day. They never charged my credit card. I don't feel I can trust this company.

    They were fabulous. I think it cost a couple hundred dollars, but it might have been less than that. It was somewhere in that ballpark. They charged more to repair the hole and stuff. I just got the bill for that. It was like $400.
