Marble & Granite reviews in Granville

  • We asked for opinions about tile that would match our granite and for suggestions on grout that would be durable, washable, and dependable.  John was more than happy to offer suggestions and his suggestions were perfect.  We were wanting to work with tile that might have appeared too busy and grout that would have been too dark.  John helped us make the right call and our kitchen looks great.  John worked hard to complete his task and was very personable.  We also discussed with him hanging a couple of light fixtures and he was more than happy to do that was well.  We were very pleased with John.  My children liked asking him questions as well and he was more than happy to discuss what he was doing with them too.  I would recommend

  • We purchased the big deal but then decided on a more expensive product.  The product selection was more than adequate at the big deal price, I just fell in love with something else when I saw it.  The company was easy to work with from start to finish.  When the actual installation date came, everything went perfectly.  Three months later I can say that we love the counter tops and we love the way they were installed.  I would recommend this company to anyone!

  • I bought the special deal on Angie's List, but then I paid extra because I upgraded the granite choice.  They did a fantastic job and my kitchen looks beautiful.  I am very happy, and even though I upgraded the granite, I still got a great deal!

  • Bob and Fran are a delight to work with and make it easy to choose what you need and want. They spent the time to discuss materials with us and tell us which would work best for our situation.

  • We selected Stone City because of their high rating on Angie's List and we are glad we did.
We went to visit their store on Huntley road and asked some questions. They sent us to their supplier's warehouse in Hillard so that we could select the piece we wanted. That was an interesting experience, but we found the piece was wanted and our name went on it to hold it. Of course it was nearly the most expensive piece in the place, but once we saw it, everything else just looked blah to us so we decided to splurge.
Everything went smooth. We called Stone City and told them we had a piece on hold. They sent out Anthony to measure. We set a date for install and gave them 1/2 down payment. I made two changes in the days after we were scheduled. The first was I had decided to go with a slide in electric range (with the controls up front) rather than a free standing range (with the controls sticking up in back). Anthony added a 2 1/2and quot; x 30and quot; piece to my order to accommodate the back of the range properly. The next change was calling them the day before the install and asking them if they could do the plumbing on the new sink for me. I knew there was a charge for this, but I just wasn't going to have the time to work on it. No problem with either change. They were handled with a professionalism and a smile.
This was my first experience with doing granite counter tops, but I can't imagine it going any better than it did.

  • Staff at home office were very helpful as we selected the product that we wanted to use. Appointments for measuring and then the installation took place in a reasonable amount of time. The installation job started off well and then turned to crap. The job foreman left one of the slabs of granite back at the office. He went to retrieve it and was gone for 1 1/2 hours. While he was away, the other 2 workers stopped trying to do a good job- particularly when they were using wet cutting to cut out sink-holes, etc. We ended up with water damage in the ceiling of the basement as well as to an oriental rug. Water filled up one electrical outlet and made an enormous mess. When they installed the cooktop in the center kitchen island, they crushed an electrical line- which had to be replaced. We ended up kicking them out- before they could do more damage.

  • We picked out the particular slabs we wanted and put a deposit on them. When we went back later to layout the counter tops on the slabs, they didn't have the original slabs that we picked out. They failed to put our names on them to reserve them and we were very upset. The initial salesman really wasn't doing anything to help us, so I wrote a letter to the executive vice president and she got involved. They made it up to us by making specials efforts to find stones that we liked and ended up giving us higher priced granite for the same price. They did a great job installing and measuring. The only real problem was that they failed to reserve the slab. I think their prices are comparable with others.
