  • Mechanic friend discovered that a long time Jeep mechanic had been replaced by less expensive mechanics at Tri County Jeep in Hebron, Ohio and had been hired by McHugh Jeep in Zanesville..
    Met with him at McHugh and left Jeep with him...their service manager called me multiple times during the two weeks they had my Jeep, unlike Tri County.  I told the mechanic, Don Peden, that his name was known as a good Jeep mechanic I had tracked him down.
    I told him to fix everything he could find on the Jeep.
    Two weeks later the service department called and said it was ready...When I went to service desk they said the mechanic wanted to see me and go over what he had done.
    He told me Tri County and neglected to change all the parts needed when they lifted my jeep, had misdiagnosed what was broken on my jeep, replaced parts that did not need to be replaced and did not replace the part that should have been replaced..
    He modified my suspension with the correct parts and the Jeep rides better and the electric sway bar is now working again.
    He check on my liquids in my transmission and said they did not need replaced even when I had given him the okay to replace them.
    I will use him and his dealership for all my future work on Chrysler products.

  • Spent 4 weeks getting it done, and about a week later, electric disconnect on sway bar did not work again.
    Asked a mechanic friend for help, he asked around and discovered the better Jeep mechanic at that location had left and went to McHugh's Jeep in Zanesville, I took it there and he discovered multiple things the Tri County had either installed incorrectly and or misdiagnosed..
    Had it repaired in a week and it is still working today..
    Would not go back to Tri County and will go to McHugh Jeep fin Zanesville from now on.
    Wish I had purchased the Jeep from McHugh at this point.

  • It is really hard to rate this dealership because I bought my car from them and that was a very good experience.
    Their maintenance service is another story -- I recently took my 2.5 year old car to have the fluids checked using the coupon above, before embarking on a longer trip. I called and was told I didn't need an appointment.  When I got there, the guy at the reception desk said I needed one, but a colleague corrected him, reminding him of the 5-min fast free service they'd advertised. So they took my car to be checked. After about a 20  minute wait, I went to check on the car and the same misinformed guy said, "oh yes, it's ready," after he'd promised he'd come let me know when they'd be done. I asked him whether all fluid levels were good and my
    partner asked him if they topped them off or just checked them. He answered "yes" to both questions.
    So I was surprised when I opened the hood at home to see that the coolant was between "minimum" and "full" and the washer fluid is nowhere to be seen, not to mention close to full. So the guy flat out lied. I assumed that, with such a prestigious dealership, I didn't have to open the hood and double check, but I was wrong.
    This now makes me wonder whether the rest of the fluids are in order. I wasted an hour to drive there and back, it throws doubt on the quality of the previous complimentary checks that came with the new car, and they lost my trust ever using their maintenance services or in taking that seriously as a sales pitch in the later future.

  • We called Clint and he had finished work for the day. However, he was kind enough to accommodate us at his home shop since we live only 10 minutes away. He did an excellent job for us spot cleaning with his steamer. We would most definitely use him again. We can't thank him enough for getting us out of a tough situation. What amazing service!!!

  • I have used them before and they do good work, on schedule and there is no gouging. I think the pricing is reasonable. If something does not need to be fixed they don't try to add it onto the job and fix it. They helped me one time by telling me something did not need to be fixed and simply pulled it out for me. They don't encourage me to pay for unnecessary work.

  • STAY WAY from Coughlin Service Department.  I had trusted them in the past and found them friendly, but after 3 consecutive bad experiences, it has become clear that my trust was misplaced.
    First experience:  Routine 75K maintenance.  When driving home after the service, my check engine light came on.  Odd, since it had never come on previously.  So I turned around and returned to the Coughlin shop.  Was told that they noticed that also (but neglected to inform me) and that the sensor had gone bad and needed to be replaced.  A surprising coincidence that this would go bad while it was in their shop, having never been an issue before.
    Second experience:  Routine oil change & tire rotation.  When it was time to drive away, my key fob was dead.  (again, they neglected to say anything about it to me).  Odd, since I had never had any issues with it before.  They told me they sometimes go bad and batteries die.  Certainly a possibility, but odd that it died there in their shop, when I had previously never had an issue with it.
    Third experience:  Routine oil change & tire rotation on our other car, same day as the above.  When driving away from their shop, we noticed we had no working brakes so we turned around and returned to the shop.  We were informed that the brake line had burst and needed to be replaced.  Another odd coincidence that the brake line would burst in their shop, during a routine oil change.  We looked outside where we parked prior to the oil change, and the pavement was dry.  When we looked inside their shop where they returned the car to us, there was a puddle of brake fluid under the car.  So clearly the line was burst while in their shop for the oil change.  Yet we had to pay for having it fixed.
    Any one of these could be a coincidence.  The fact that all 3 of these happened on consecutive recent experiences is in my mind clearly more than coincidence.  They either run a questionable operation to grow their service revenues, or have less-than-competent technicians who inadvertently introduce new issues when they perform routine maintenance on your vehicle (and wait for you to discover the new problems after you leave the shop).  Either way is not good.
    We will of course not be doing any further business with Coughlin and want to inform others to beware as well.

  • Deke and his crew checked the brakes, tires, engine, and everything else that could be a problem on a 2000 mile trip.  We're glad they did, because other families who made the same trip had problems with their cars and had to delay or cancel their trips.  We trust Deke to find what's wrong, fix it right, and not make up things that aren't really needed.

  • The owner ,John Best, seems to have a real love and dedication to BMWs,and is incredibly knowledgeable as well as fair minded. You can tell he is a real and quot;straight shooterand quot; to use a well-traveled term. Very positive experience.

  • Work was fast and of good quality at a reasonable price. Provided estimates on additional repairs required but did not pressure. Very nice to work with!
    We recently had tires changed as well on another vehicle, and their price was competitive with every bargain tire place out there!

  • As a single female with limited auto repair knowledge, I always just assume that I am being "taken for a ride" when it comes to having someone work on my car.  That wasn't the case at Deke's.  Not only did they do the work required, but for price quoted they also found and repaired the botched job(s) which I had recently paid another shop to perform.  They took the time to explain the step-by-step repairs, but not in the condescending manner I have experienced elsewhere.  They were professional, courteous and fair, and the shop itself was clean and obviously well-run.  I even received a follow-up call four days later to ask how the car was running.  I know I'll need repairs in the future and I know where I'll have them done.  Deke's Auto Tech!  You should, too.
