    Hatton Quality Painting LLC
They pressure washed, brushed two coats of stain on our cedar house, painted doors and windows, and replaced rotten wood. They were helpful, did excellent work and are very thorough. The only complaint we had was that they started seven weeks later than their original proposed start date.

    Pioneer Fence Co
Steve was great to work with in the quoting and scheduling portion of the job.  He gave me a very competitive pricing.
When the job was actually done, Toni and his crew did a great job.  They were very professional and careful.  Toni understood my needs very well.  Everything was done as agreed and in the time they said they would.  I was very happy with the installation and the fence looks great.  I have received many compliments from the neighbors.

ARCO - Affordable Roofing & Chimney Options
    Updated review:
This is an update to the original review.  The original job went very badly with Arco Construction dropping the ball sweeping my chimney and me leaving a poor review of them.  Patrick, the owner, called me and explained that they had screwed up, this wasn't typical of their service, and wanted to make it up.  He offered to do the repairs they quoted at a highly discounted rate.  Being a business owner myself, I understand things happen and believed he really wanted to make things better..

I agreed to the additional repairs and the guys showed up when scheduled.  They took care of the repairs, swept the chimney again to make sure nothing was missed.  While there, they also told me my gutters were full of leaves and offered to clean them at no charge!  When they were done, they showed me photos of all the work and made sure I was completely satisfied before leaving.

Let's just say there was a night and day difference between the two experiences.  Seeing the other reviews on Arco Construction and after talking to Patrick about his company, I do believe the first time was an anomaly and that they really care about satisfying the customer.  I have left the original review below so that you can see what happened initially, how aggravated I was then and how satisfied I am after Patrick and Gary made everything right! Sometimes you get the best customers by bending over backwards to make up for a mistake and that is what they did this time. Gary, go ahead and schedule my chimney sweep for next year!

    Original review:
I just had my chimney cleaned by Arco Remodeling.  I opened my flue to start a fire the next  night and all kinds of soot fell down!  As I worked the damper back and forth, piles of soot formed on the wood stacked below.  Once the chimney was cleaned, no one came back inside to check and make sure nothing had fallen inside or to check the operation of the fireplace.  I am now worried that soot has clogged the baffles and that it may start a fire!
I called to tell them my concerns and they said Gary would be back out the next week since he would be in the area.  Gary also called and said the baffles look very fragile and he didn't want to break them  by cleaning them.  He said he would need to be very careful to try and prevent damaging them during cleaning.  Why wasn't this stated at the beginning when they first looked at the fireplace?  Surely they knew the soot would pile up there as they cleaned it, how else would they clean them properly?
Well, I decided to  chance letting them finish the job and hopefully not break my fragile baffles.  However, no one showed and no one called for the followup appointment that following week.  I did receive an email from Gary on 11/3, nearly a week later saying he could stop out in another week to finish the job if I still wanted him to.
Just so you don't think I'm being overly dramatic, here is a link to the video of soot falling down the front and back of the fireplace as I opened and closed the damper.
II don't believe this is typical of what happens after a cleaning.   Needless to say I am not confident in the cleaning that was done to the fireplace and worry that the baffles are clogged and that it could start a fire!  I expected much better considering their rating on Angie?s List!

It was a two day job, post were set in concrete and had to set-up. Fence lines look great. They scheduled the job one month from quote and were on scheduled with in a few days from insulation date.

    HKC Roofing & Construction
We have hired HKC twice in the last couple of years.  We met Ed Stinson at the Cincinnati Home Show at just the right time - we needed a new roof on our house.  Ed explained all the options and provided enough info for us to feel like we were making an informed decision about the best roofing system for our home.  Price was fair, installation was excellent, and the house looks better than ever!
More recently, we had a tree fall against the side of the house and damage the siding.  Again, Ed came through with great service.  The color match, installation, and quality of work were excellent, done in a timely manner, and the price was fair (right on track with our insurance estimate - how often can you say that??).
It sounds funny, but I hope I don't need to call these guys again anytime soon, but if the need arises, I will definitely call HKC.  We hope you do as well!

    Integrity 1st Roofing
Roofing materials delivered about 8/21 and I called to see when the job was scheduled as I had not heard from them. I was advised it was scheduled for 8/22 or 8/25 depending on another job completion and weather. Roof was removed and installed on 8/26.Work began about 10am and was quite noisy and a mess. Lots of nails in the yard after cleanup. I have two large dogs and was concerned that they may step on these nails and went through the yard several times collecting nails. While talking to the job foreman, a container of shingles fell off the porch roof and landed on a wooden ramp, breaking it in two. He said, " That's not suppose to happen." It was a good thing no one was standing there as this could have caused an injury. There were about 8 men working on the roof, but only one could speak English. Latino music blared from the boom box all day.
I assumed the gutters, etc would follow shortly. The gutters and some of the other materials were delivered Sept 3, so I asked the young man when it was scheduled to begin but he did not know. I called Integrity for schedule, and was advised either 9/4 or 5th or 6th depending on weather and another job's completion. Work on removing soffit, siding, fascia, etc. began 9/6.
    BEWARE OF SUBS......
A young man mostly worked by himself and said he liked to do things slowly, quality not quantity. I was concerned as I had a paver patio with stairs and retaining wall scheduled and this job needed to be completed now. When I signed the contract I told them exactly what I was doing and the schedule of completion. My landscape contractor was delivering materials in an area that was not finished and both contractors could not be in the same location.
We also collect our rain water into a cistern and the gutters needed to be removed/installed. I spoke to the sub on this schedule and he said he was not able to get workers to help him. It is very challenging to do this work by yourself. I called Integrity several times to try get this completed job promptly, and they assigned their crew to complete the job. On 9/16 it was mostly completed.  Roof was inspected by the county on 9/23 and gave full payment on 9/26.
Called them again as one downspout is leaking and the other is dripping and making noise. This is being looked into.
    Not a happy camper.

    Complete Home Services
Communication with the office was less than I expected. Too many people with conflicting information. Scheduling was decided by this company- the first told me no one was needed to be at home but later when the worker arrived he asked no one leave the site. Which was terribly inconvenient for my college daughter who expected to leave for school not stay at the house. The worker was polite and discussed his work with me once I arrived home from work.
The office department was less professional than the actual worker. which was my greatest stressed.

    Viox Windows & Remodeling

I had this company do some remodeling at my home and it was a big mistake! I now have uneven floors that squeak, gutters that leak from behind rather than drain out the spouts, my shingles are collapsing at both ends of the house due to lack of support, ETC! Some of the flooring in my closet was never even put down(I guess they thought I wouldn't notice)! When I pointed these issues out to the company personnel they said they would be back to fix it and then never came back! I took time off work to be at home on the days they said they would be back to fix the issues and nothing not even a phone call! They just up and vanished didn't hear from them for months until one day they called demanding money! They even went as far as sending me a bill with fraudulent charges for items that were never used at my home and when I pointed it out to the owner he told me that I was right the bills was wrong and that he missed some additional charges and now the bill will be more than he originally thought! This company does shady work at best and is not very honest! They are offering services beyond their expertise at the cost of the home owner! I would NOT recommend this company to anybody they will not finish what they start then they will try to bully their way into your check book by threats and harassing phone calls!
I've filled a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and so far they have admitted to the fraudulent charges on my bill and to being a no show no call multiple times!
    To be continued..........................................

    Fence Pro
We have been waiting to do this project for quite some time so my husband and I were careful in who we had install the fence. We actually thought about doing it ourselves, but when we found out how quickly the fence companies around our area could install it...we decided to get estimates. Fence Pro took a while to get us our bid, in fact we had to call a second time. Gary did get out to see us when we finally set our appointment. He took his time and made sure we understood everything. We appreciated that. Some of the other estimators did not appear to really care about our job. In the end, Fence Pro had the best price of the four estimates we received so we decided to go with them. Their crew was on time with the date we set and Gary was actually there with them. (It made us feel secure seeing him out there digging with the rest of them) They answered any questions we had and finished in just two days. We are very pleased with the work and very secure in the knowledge that our fence was installed with no short cuts. The crew members actually showed us short cuts that some of the other fence companies use, like dry dropping the concrete rather than mixing it in a wheel barrel. We would definately recommend Fence Pro to others looking for fence work. Our fence looks great.
