    Newlook Sidings Inc
Great, we are very pleased. The siding looks beautiful. We did Hardieplank siding and we love the look. Ed was always quick to respond to my questions or concerns. And the crew consisted of very professional and skilled workers.

    Browsers Welcome
We contacted Melvin Satterfield of Browsers Welcome on September 25, 2014 to determine his ability to refinish our front door. That door is a ThermaTru fiberglass door with a wood grain texture to simulate the appearance of a wood door with the benefits of a fiberglass one. He stated he had done many similar such projects and the required gel-stain and clear coat finish would not be a problem.
He quoted us a price of $800 and said he could have it done within two weeks. Although the price seemed high we felt that Mr Satterfield would deliver a good product because of this overwhelming positive Angie?s List reviews. The start of his work was understandably delayed due to the death of a family member. Once work began his arrival became erratic, on some days he would not show up and would not call to notify us. On other days he would show up unannounced expecting us to be home. There was another understandable delay when his grandson was killed.
Eventually the door was completed, but had a slightly milky color to the clear coat. Mr Satterfield reassured us that the finish is the same thing used on boats and would last at least seven years and probably ten.
Less than eight months later, in the summer of 2015, the door finish began bubbling and peeling. We emailed Mr. Satterfield with photos of the peeling finish on July 30, 2015 and requested that he repair the door. We also left a voice mail for him the following week and did not hear back. I emailed him again on August 27 and he responded ?Call me Monday we will  see what went wrong and rectify the problem I'm sure never heard this before? When I called him on Monday he asked to meet at 8:30 on Saturday September 5. Mr Satterfield called around 9:45 on Saturday to reschedule for Wednesday. When he arrived on Wednesday September 9 he committed to repairing the problem and scheduled the first appointment for Saturday September 19. Our preference was to do the work during the week, but we accepted his offer to begin the work on Saturday. He did not show up on Saturday. I sent an email, but didn?t receive a reply or a phone call explaining his absence or making further arrangements.
I left several voice mails over the following days and did not get a reply. On October 9 I emailed Mr. Satterfield asking for him to refund the money we had paid for the botched job. On October 10 he replied that there was a death in his family and provided no further information as to when or how he was going to resolve this issue.
On October 19 I reached out to him again asking if he could start work that week. Again there was no reply. Today, October 23, 2015 I have asked for a refund of the money paid so that I can get our door fixed before the winter.
I believe Mr. Satterfield often does good work when it can be done in his shop on his time table. Reading other negative reviews, I can see that he struggles with keeping time based commitments and dealing with problems when the arise. He has expressed his interest in fixing this problem, but he has failed to take the necessary action to actually resolve the issue. He is a very likeable fellow so it is with a heavy heart that I begin pursuing other avenue to resolve this problem with he and his company.

    Duppy's Door Service Inc
We were panicked late Friday evening when we could not close the garage as it was connected to our house, making it a security risk and open invitation to nighttime critters to visit!  I requested an appointment with two providers via Angie's list electronically.  Duppy's responded before 8 a.m. in the morning while I never heard from the other company.  They were working on my door before 9 a.m.!
Though I wished the repair was cheaper, I had no reason to distrust their diagnosis.  The repair makes the door run more smoothly and quietly than it ever has before, which is proof we needed it.  The tech also explained how it will be cheaper to maintain than the part it replaced because the springs are visible and easier to get to. He also suggested other repairs to the sealing trim along the bottom and side that he could do, but could also be done ourselves (which is the option I took).

Iron Gate Security Systems & Doors Inc
The whole process took three days, but the final products were amazing. The worker was professional, courteous. the workmanship was top rated. Those storm doors look so elegant, they really dress up the whole house. They also add good insulation against the weather. But, the most important of all, those cast iron bars really provide strong security against intruders.

    Precision Overhead Garage Door Service
Tom arrived and was very professional and knowledgeable.  He explained my different options and offered suggestions but was not pushy or "hard sell" with the packages.  He also found an additional problem that I was unaware of which could've been very damaging had it not been repaired.  He showed me what the problem was, inspected the other parts/rollers/and motor as well as lubricating everything (not charged, just part of what he did.)  He explained the warranty and what to expect from the new parts.  I appreciate the same day service and courteous attitude.  Will definitely use again.

    My Handyman
Wall went up great but there was a delay in completing the project because the door was back-ordered.  There were some communication problems regarding price when the guy who was originally working on the job was replaced by someone else to complete the door installation, but everything was worked out.  We're very happy with the work and the price.  I would look My Handyman first for any future project.

No Despair Home Repair & Remodeling
We were happy with what he did for us. He charged $65.00 apiece for the deadbolt installation and $60.00 apiece for the fans. He actually lives the next street over from us and he said we can come right over if we need anything.

    Tom Littleton Carpentry
We can't recommend Tom enough.  He installed all of the doors, baseboard, and moulding in our entire basement.  Tom is extremely detailed, taking the time to make things just right.  He was able to inconspicuously cover up mistakes of the framer that I used.  We couldn't be more pleased with the results.  Even though Tom had allowed for the new pad and carpet, we ended up choosing a thicker, more plush carpet than we initially thought, causing the doors to be too long.  Tom was kind enough to come out an additional few hours to cut down the doors, charging us a minimal amount to do so.  If you are looking for top notch carpentry from a guy who pays attention to details and doesn't take shortcuts, this is your guy.  He even shows up on time, as promised, every day (not your typical carpenter).  We will certainly have Tom back for more projects.

New home construction. 23 windows and 6 doors. Working with Andersen was a wonderful experience. If you see our other reviews, we had a few problems building our new home - Andersen was one of the positives. We finalized our window order through Carter Lumber on Rt 3 due to price. When our windows arrived, we noticed a quarter of them had grid panel gaps. Where the grids intersected there were gaps large enough for one - three credit cards to slide into, grids interior and exterior. Window grids should be snug and should/could appear as one piece. We called Carter's for 3 weeks. Our calls for the manager were ignored - we always heard that the manager had just stepped out. Our calls were also not returned. We contacted Andersen's 1-800 number not knowing what to expect. Customer Service took our information (problem, place purchased, window size and serial number) and within 48 hours our call was returned from the local sales representative. Tina Kostura met us to review our windows the following week. Ms. Kostura agreed with our concerns and scheduled an appointment with one of Andersens repairmen. Just as quick the repairman called, scheduled an appointment, agreed, ordered new windows and installed the new windows the week of arrival. Now we will never do business with Carter's Lumber again - but this is about Andersen, a huge company that responded to our problem as if we really mattered. Best customer service ever! We have sinced moved in and love our windows!
