    The Super
We hired The Super to completely gut and remodel our Master Bathroom. They were courteous, timely, very professional and most importantly brought my vision of a luxury retreat with modern amenities to life. We're incredibly happy with the results and have since hired them again; therefore, highly recommend!

    Baker Group Remodeling
Two years ago we hired Baker Group to add a wet bar to our lower level. They exceeded our expectations in that small project so we decided to hire them for our entire first floor remodel. We added a full bathroom, installed all new hardwood floors throughout, opened up a wall between our kitchen and great room, completely gutted and rebuilt our kitchen including our cabinets. The project was large and it took almost 3 months to complete, but we are incredibly happy with the results. As a stay at home mom, I was nervous about the idea of different subcontractors coming in and out of my house on a daily basis. With Baker Group, they don't use subs so I had the same 2 guys (Mike and Benito) in my house every day which helped my comfort level. They were very nice to have around and became almost like family when they were here. However unlike my family, they always cleaned up after themselves and treated our house with respect. Their tile work and floor work were amazing. Phil is the cabinetmaker among other responsibilities in the group. His cabinetry is beautiful to say the least. We used to love our friend's kitchen cabinets that were made by an Amish company, but Phil's insatiable need for perfection in his product far surpassed what the Amish built. Our house has become a showpiece and the talk of our neighborhood. We are so happy with the finished project.

    The Granite Guy
We could not be more pleased with the experience we had working with the people at The Granite Guy. Vanessa, the receptionist, greeted us warmly each time we visited; Cody, our sales representative, was very patient with us and helped us choose a granite piece that was perfect for our kitchen; Joe, our templator, was spot-on with his measurements; and the installers were on time, courteous, and obviously experienced with granite installation. We would highly recommend this team of professionals!

    Erie Shores Contracting, LLC
Things started out well and slowly went downhill. Mike and Melissa are very nice people, but we quickly found out they became very tardy to completely unresponsive to our emails in the planning phase. Most disappointing was their failure to properly finish the Formica solid surface counter tops to Formica specifications - which immediately voided our warranty with the Formica corporation. The counter tops were unprotected during tiling phase, which left many scratches and cuts on them. They were also finished incorrectly leaving deep orbital sander swirls. We applied a counter top polish to help, but this made the scratches even more visible. We were told rubbing compound was applied to one countertop which is not recommended by Formica. When our warranty was voided by Formica, they sent their PDF for correct finishing which we presented to Mike 3 times. We eventually had to finish the counter tops ourselves. Response to the comment below: Contrary to the service provider's comment of "re-quoting a project several times after selections were changed multiple time" - this was not true. We changed our contract one time after the initial one and this was before it was signed and a deposit paid. Contrary to the warranty being voided for the counter tops after olive oil was applied - this is not true. The counter top warranty was voided after we sent a claim into Formica cooperate asking for a resolution. We explained that they were not finished according to their specifications. Formica immediately voided our warranty because of this (it had nothing to do with olive oil being applied to them.) We have a copy of this claim and Formicas response. Contrary to Melissa quoting a price for granite - this is not true. We never wanted granite counter tops. Contrary to the statement "we had many discussion with Formica" Formica told us they had no record of our contractor contacting them. As far as tile being cut on the tops which left scratches, we have pictures of this. When Formica voided our warranty they sent their precise instructions which we gave to Mike. He did not want them. After talking to Formica several times, I finally finished the counter tops correctly and to our satisfaction. The counter tops and backsplash were the centerpiece of our renovation and when Mike did not want to finish them to specifications, we were very disappointed, which unfortunately dulled the rest of the project. When I finished the counter tops myself, the contractor immediately voided his warranty of them

I had a crack along the front of the kitchen sink. When I spoke with Ben he understood exactly what the problem was and appeared confident that he would be able to repair the crack and I scheduled a time for him and his crew to fix the issue. He cancelled 3 times before finally arriving to fix the issue. They were able to remove the steel bar that was causing the crack and attempted to repair the crack. However, upon closer examination we realized that the crack was still visible and the area where the repair was made had lost its shine which makes the repair even more visible. We have attempted to have Ben return and repair the area he refused and will not return our calls. I would not recommend this repairman for any additional work.

    Baker Group Remodeling
We wanted to have a wet bar installed in the lower level of our house. I interviewed several companies who either stood me up and didn't show for the meeting or told me the custom touches that I wanted for my bar weren't possible. I reached out to Phil to see if he would come over and discuss the bar I had in mind.

As soon as he arrived in my house, I knew he was different. He was very personable and professional. I was relieved that he was open to my custom ideas and he even had some suggestions to make it even better. He gave us an estimate and it fell right within our budget so we jumped on the opportunity to use him and his company for the remodel.

When Phil and his guys arrived, I was instantly amazed at their professionalism and "clean cut" appearance. My father owned a construction business so I'm familiar with the types of guys that typically do this kind of work. I was surprised that these workers looked like they could be working desk jobs at any corporation. They were extremely courteous, on-time, clean-cut, and meticulous. They even laid drop cloths in the hall and down the steps when they arrived so they didn't dirty the rest of the house. At the end of each day, they cleaned up the work area and I never had to deal with any dirt or garbage laying around.

As for the custom cabinets and bar top that Phil made himself I can't say enough about how beautiful they are. I asked that my cabinets be made out of wood that still had knots in it, and I wanted my bar top to be one big slab of live-edged wood. The results are stunning. My husband who is notoriously tough to please, couldn't even find anything wrong. They are beautiful and everything I asked them to be.

Phil has defiantly exceeded all our expectations and worked hard to make our requests fulfilled. He has definitely won our business going forward for other projects we want to do. We can't say enough good things about him.

    Distinctive Surfaces Inc
We got estimates from 3 different businesses, and Distinctive Surfaces had the best deal.  We worked with Jenna and she was very patient in answering all of our questions and making suggestions when asked.
Jenna checked out different brands of quartz for us, to see if there could be additional savings with a different brand (i.e. 1 slab vs. 2 slabs).  We appreciated her looking to see what the most cost effective options were.
At Distinctive Surfaces, we were also able to see where the stone was cut, and walked through the process.  Something my husband loved!
Overall, we are happy with the product, timeliness, and friendliness of Distinctive Surfaces.

    Don Gearon Countertops & Decor
Don took field measurements then brought in a template to ensure everything would fit.  Finally he brought in the countertops and backsplashes and installed them.  Don and his helper were very careful and precise.  Everything worked as planned.  I am amazed at how Don was able to totally hide all of the seams.  The results were great.

    The Granite Guy

Great company to deal with.  Excellent selection and variety in the show room.  The process was seem less from the initial stop at their store to talk about the options and cost, through the measurement, installation and clean up.  They even coordinated the plumber, Bobby Estep (Beumont Construction), to arrive directly after the install and reconnect all our new faucets, insinkerators, and gas cooktop.

The measurement process was pain less, they were even able to accommodate an after work time frame.

They even have an option to let you participate in laying out the templates on the granite, the results were amazing.

The team arrived on time and put down protective coverings for the floors.  Removed all the old countertops, sinks and hardware. Installation went very well with the exception of a mis-cut backsplash, which they corrected immediately.  They did the right thing and recut a new back splash and had it delivered and installed the same day - even cut it from the exact location on a new piece of granite in order to keep the flow of the granite - can't say enough good things about that level of ownership and professionalism.

I highly recommend The Granite Guy for all your granite needs - I know we will when we do our master bathroom next year!
