Optometry reviews in Gahanna

We had used them for most of the ten years we lived in Gahanna. It is a group practice. She is very caring and she follows up. She just takes a personal interest in you as well as being professional. They have a lot of the latest equipment for not just checking your eyes but also checking for glaucoma and eye related diseases or problems. All of the staff is very nice. She has been phenomenal. Because we paid out of pocket, they gave us a discount.

It went great! I called them up and made an appointment, and I asked that they call before they came. They showed up on time, and brought all of the necessary equipment. They did all of the same types of tests you would receive in a normal office, including dilation and glaucoma tests. They were very professional and knowledgeable, and I will be sure to use them next time!

Susie Stan is the most thorough optometrist.  She is compassionate and considerate, and listens to her patients.  Since I had a considerable change in my eyeglass prescription, I decided to purchase new frames as well.  Bexley Optical Boutique has scores unique frames by top-rated artists and designers that I have not seen in any other chain stores. Kim (optician) was wonderful and honest about how each frame looked on my face, and made recommendations keeping within my budget. Finally Larry Haas fitted them perfectly the first time.  I love my new glasses.  I have been a patient/customer here for several years, and would go nowhere else, ever.

The prices at Costco cannot be beaten. my glasses are perfectly made. My contacts did not arrive as ordered and the order had to be replaced, but they fixed it immediately. All providers were kind and efficient. The only thing I really did not like was that one of the opticians was belittling a new person who was training. She said you are just never going to get it, and you are never going to make it. Very cruel. I believe the other person quit, because I went back multiple times and she was no longer there. Very unprofessional behavior out of the older woman who has been employed as an optician for years and years.

The office staff was very friendly and welcoming. After filling out the necessary forms, I was quickly taken to the examining room. Dr. Dennis is easy to talk to and began by asking about my eye health and his plans for what his examination would entail. He is very knowledgeable and thorough and explained in detail each exam. I had the very beginning stage of Cataracts in one eye and since this was the first time I had heard this diagnoses, he again explained in detail what I should expect in the future. I appreciated his concern and left with the feeling that I would get quality care should the need arise. His office ordered new contacts for me and they came in 2 days.
I felt the price was very fair and picked them up personally to save on shipping. I will certainly use this eye practice again.

I have been going to Dr. Jones for over 20 years, and I can't think of a single complaint. He and his staff are friendly, punctual, and knowledgeable. As a side note, I had LASIK done a few years back, and while he had to refer me on to the surgeon, he has been doing my followup care ever since. His recommendation to get the LASIK cost him some money in that I no longer need to buy contact lenses from him, but he was happy to do it. He's also helped me with awful allergies over the last few years, prescribing me with some drops that have worked much better than any over the counter drops have. That's been a relief.

When I got the glasses I paid another $523.05.  When they got the money, all courtesy vanished and I felt rushed to leave.  The glasses have a very narrow field of focus and are impossible to keep clean.

They were great. I went for my eye exam and they prescribed my readers. I would definitely tell people to go to him. He is extremely nice and very reasonably priced. They get glasses to you very quickly. It is just great service all the way around. They were great. They have a great staff. They are very efficient and you are seen on time. Their great. It's a great office. I will go there again.

The appointment went as scheduled. The staff was friendly and helpful, but the eyeglasses took about 6 weeks to be delivered and this was unacceptable. They made a substantial adjustment to the price which helped to make up for the delay.

When I called to make the appointment, it was mentioned that Dr. Dachenbach was retiring and that Dr. Miller was taking over.  I decided to proceed as I have always been very happy with the practice.  I don't have vision insurance and I asked what the price for the appointment would be and I was given two separate costs.  One for the annual check up and one for the contact fitting.  I was surprised by this second cost as it was not something I had heard of before but didn't question it at the time.  After a day or two of thinking about it, I called the office back to ask for an explanation of the contact fitting.  I explained my question and the reason for questioning the fee and I was passed off to the business manager.  I explained myself again and the reasoning provided was simply that there was a fee for the contact fitting.  I mentioned again that I didn't remember paying this fee with the former doctor and that I didn't have insurance.  The business manager said the former doctor did not charge for the fitting and that was very unusual as most doctors did.  During the entire conversation I felt as if I was bothering the staff with such a trivial matter.  While they were helpful to some extent, it was as if I was pestering them.
When I got to the appointment, everything went smoothly.  The staff was pleasant enough and Dr. Miller was very nice.  The exam went well, as did the contact fitting.  I was prescribed the same contacts that I had previously and told I really needed to update my eyeglasses, which I already knew.  I checked out with the staff, paying for the visit out of pocket.  When asked if I wanted to order contacts, I declined and they wished me a nice day.   They also gave me an appointment card for next year's annual checkup, which I found somewhat presumptive.
About 2 weeks later I received a call saying my contacts had come in.  I called the office back and said I hadn't ordered the contacts and I didn't want them.  After a slight hestitation, the staff meember said that was fine and I confirmed it would be removed from my account completely.
While my experience was okay, not great, I left irritated that I paid $70 for a contact fitting to be told my current perscription was still good.  I grew up in Gahanna and have always gone to this practice since I was 5 (I'm now 27).  I live in Hilliard now and so making it across town for appointments is not very easy.  I've decided to look for an optometrist on the west side of Columbus as I don't feel this practice offers enough value to keep traveling across town.
