  • Very well. They sent 2 techs because I could not help lift the TV myself. The 2 managed to get it done in 1 hour (deal was 1 person for 2 hours). Also, at my request they supplied the wall bracket at a reasonable rate.

  • It's a long story, so bear with me. Lauren, who answers the phones, does scheduling, and I'm sure a chunk more, was so pleasant to work with and talk to. But the issues began shortly after. I called to make an appointment to mount a new TV over our fireplace, replacing the existing TV. I asked while making the appointment if I could/should send photos of the current setup so the install person would be prepared. Lauren said it was a great idea, so after our call I snapped a couple of photos and emailed them along. I received a reply not long after that which stated all looked good. When the tech arrived the day of the appointment, he dismounted the old TV and stated he thought the existing mount would work (great news!). After some work and some assistance from me, he determined we would actually need a new mount. This was disappointing, but I understood. I asked if the new mount would work and operate in a similar manner to the old mount. The tech assured me it would. He pulled the new mount from his truck, unpacked it, and determined it was too large to fit in the space. He then stated he could go back o the office and get a mount with a smaller footprint to place in the area. I asked if he was sure that would work and he stated confidently it would. I waited approximately half an hour for him to return to the office and pick up the new part and return -- no big deal. The tech brought in the new mount, unpacked it, and determined the third try mount would not extend far enough out to mount the TV appropriately for where he needed to place it. By this point I was getting a little frustrated. I would have hoped he may have measured things at some point to determine what hardware was actually needed. Trial and error (costing materials and time) are not the best method of a professional installation. The tech needed to leave that day without getting the job done, but managed to declare he used up the Angie's List deal I had purchased for 2 hours of A/V services, meaning I would need to pay for him to come back and finish the job when they found a mount that would work for my space. By the next day I had not heard from them, so I called the office and asked for an update. Spoke to Lauren again and once again she was great, but informed me the only mounts they were finding with the necessary 24 inch extension the tech said was required were in the $400 price range. That was just not going to work, but she assured me they would keep looking. I decided to take matters into my own hands as I was losing faith, and with some deep research (five minutes on Amazon), I found a 32 inch extension mount for a more reasonable price. I emailed the office and after some back and forth they agreed this would work and I ordered it for delivery from Amazon. Scheduled the tech to come back the day after delivery. Tech came back yesterday and had some trouble with the new mount, needed direction from me on how to install some portions of it, and mismounted the bracket due to a bad measurement and drilled about 3-4 extra holes in my wall and studs before he figured it out. The mount barely extends far enough to make it work, meaning his initial calculations were 8 inches or more off on how long the extension arm needed to be. Keep in mind I also had to pay for this return trip as they could not get the job done the first time. The TV is up and mounted now in a somewhat acceptable fashion, though we cannot access behind the unit as the tech's measurements were off so much. Overall, I wish I would have waited for the company I had used for the previous installation 6-7 years ago to get back from vacation. Everyone (Lauren and the tech) were very nice to work with, but I spent a lot more money and time getting an installation that isn't quite what I wanted from a tech I'm not sure knew how to do his job. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend or use the Theater People again.

  • I had purchased a Big Deal for $149 Professional TV Mount Installation with Wire Concealment,  and Bonus Mount Included.  Jeff arrived right on time and did a great job. He suggested for a cleaner look that he could install an outlet at the location of the TV. I chose to have that done for an additional $100. He went above and beyond to help make sure that an additional tube TV was connected to the cable network. I would not hesitate to use this service provider again.

  • My television wouldn't come on at home.  I had tried changing electric sockets, rebooting cable box, etc.  I dropped TV off at AV Services and they called me later to say the television came on for them first try!!
    The business owner told me that if I had the problem again, I could bring it back and they wouldn't charge me for an additional repair estimate, since there was nothing wrong with the TV and they didn't need to prepare an estimate.
    The owner was very nice and explained these things happen all the time.
    Also, the estimate was only $35, cheap these days!
    I'll use this company again if needed!

  • This was the second time Bob did work for us. He sent an e-mail to confirm the appointment, showed up on time and completed all the work in a short amount of time. He left everything clean and was very professional. We will definitely use Bob for all of the work we need done inside the house!!

  • The service techs were prompt, knowledgeable and efficient, conducting the assessment in the 2 hour allotted time per the deal's specifications.  They clearly explained that we needed to replace our home theater receiver and Aeros remote with updated equipment  to get the full benefit of our recently purchased "smart" TV.  They suggested that the existing home theater receiver replace our main floor audio receiver to improve sound quality through the main floor ceiling speakers.  They recommended that a main floor blue ray DVR player be swapped out for the existing home theater DVR player.  The service techs were easy to understand, patiently answering our questions.

    We agreed with their assessment and paid a 50% deposit so new components could be ordered.  Within 3 weeks the equipment had arrived and the installation was completed.  The same service techs who handled the assessment, installed the equipment.  They were again prompt and efficient, taking care to explain the workings of our new remote to both me and my husband.  We are very pleased with our new equipment and the quality of this service provider.

  • On day of service the 2 technicians notified me that they could come 1 1/2 hours earlier than scheduled.  This was the highlight of the experience.  It went downhill from there.  They produced a detailed 2-page contract (small print) for me to sign before work could begin.  Rather than waste 15 minutes of valuable install time to read through it I went ahead & signed it.  Then they informed me of the additional charges to create an outlet:  $32.27.  This was to be a standard install using my newly purchased TV bracket & sound bar.  The sound bar install was an additional $50.  Then the technicians informed me that they had to have 2 ten foot HMDI cables in order to run cables inside the wall.  Since they were already here & I only could get 2 six foot HMDI cables, they offered to sell me the ones they carry on their truck.  This was an additional charge of $50 each! 
    Things appeared to be going smoothly until they hooked everything back up & couldn't get a signal from my satellite service.  They spent an inordinate amount of time changing wires around trying to get a signal & mentioned that I might have to pay additional labor costs.  They ultimately didn't charge extra for labor but they had to contact their supervisor & my satellite service to ask how to fix the signal problem.  It turned out that there was no satellite signal problem; they had just hooked up the cables incorrectly.
    I never did get the "consultation" part of the package. 
    Now I see a new Angie's List Big Deal from this same company for the same "deal" for $20 less than what I paid.  I don't feel this is fair considering I just had the work done less than a week before the price change.

  • Adam and Jeff are great guys. They arrived early, wore foot covers because it was raining, and quickly went to work. They were very knowledgeable and friendly. They put up the TV and connected all my devices. I could not be happier. I would hire then again!

  • They did a great job. They were very personable. The owner did the consultation and he was very knowledgeable and he explained everything to me. They were very flexible with scheduling. They did have to leave my home to go to another job. The person that came in to do the painting and the drywall work did an amazing job.

  • Dan, owner of CAT, made his recommendations with consideration for a spectrum of price points, and suggested that the most expensive choices were NOT necessary, based on the size and acoustics of my room.  He then suggested that I purchase the TV at a retail outlet, as I could get a better price there than he could afford to do, based on mass marketing price breaks.  He then delivered the accompanying components and installed all in an existing furniture cabinet.  The changes to the cabinet were done neatly and with no external change or damage to the furniture.
    I will use the company in the future for all my electronic needs and will recommend to anyone that they consider CAT for their needs.
