Chimney Repair reviews in Fairview Park

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • When inspected, Joe found out that there was not enough draft in the chimney for the furnace and water heater and possible CO2 was getting back into the house. Joe and Max installed a new liner in the chimney and replaced the metal ducts from the furnace and water heater and brick and mortar in the basement. They also matched and replaced bad bricks on the chimney and also replaced some bad ones on my front steps. Two new caps were also installed on the chimney. They projected they could get to do the work in a couple of weeks, but due to a cancellation, they came within a few days. The job took 2 days and they took care to clean-up when done. Very polite and professional. Would use them again.

  • Brad Smith repaired the chimney crown and installed new chimney caps prior to the roof work. The roof tear off and replacement was completed in two days. Some underlayment and joist repairs were needed. Clean-up was excellent. They were very responsive to our communications. The proposal was very detailed (including for emergent work), so we knew what to expect up front.

  • My experience with Mirna and crew have been efficient and professional from the get-go to completion. Coming from a family run business myself, you'll see the personal touch and service from Mirna and her crew that you don't typically experience from Corporate. Mirna always made herself available and responsive to questions for a new owner like myself who's new to chimney replacement. I really appreciate her patience and especially taking photos in real-time of the work before, during and after completion. You're in good hands should you decide to move forward with their service.

  • Mr. George responded immediately to my request and provided a prompt response to my question after carefully reviewing information I provided. He appears very knowledgeable and professional and I really value his opinion. Most importantly, he was reasonable. I will not hesitate to work with him in the future.

  • The job is perfect!  Jim took the time to make sure the work was done right and that he matched the bricks and mortar to our 90 year old home.  His employees are professional, clean and efficient!  Beautiful work and it looks like the porch and stairs should have always been this way!  We are thrilled with the curb appeal and added value to our home!

  • I was contacted by Anthony Pisco within 2 days of initially contacting him to give me an estimate on a rebuild of my crumbling chimney top.  He came out the next day, looked everything over and gave me an estimate of $1900 and a time frame of 1 day to complete the job.  I checked out 2 other contractors for the same thing, and Advance Masonry came in $100 less than the others.  After I accepted his proposal, they put me on their schedule and came out to do the job a 8 days later.  The contractor himself came out and did the work along with 2 other guys.  They started at about 7:30am with set up of scaffolding, and was tearing down by 9am.  They brought in a few trucks of material and equipment and spread out drop cloth all over the ground to keep the old mortar and cement off the lawn.  They finished the job about 5:30pm, and cleared out all of their stuff by 6:15pm.  Anthony walked me through everything explaining all of the details.  I like to ask a lot of questions, and he answered all of them.  They showed me that they washed my roof to get rid of all of the cement dust, cleaned out the gutters, and washed my basement floor to get rid of the drilling dust on the inside.
Overall, a really great contractor that had lots of communication, came in on budget, and handled all of my questions.  I'll definitely keep Anthony Pisco and Advance Masonry & Full Chimney Service Inc. in my list of contractors that I would recall.

  • Prompt and courteous, he called about twenty minutes before arriving to let me know he was on the way. They took their shoes off because it was wet outside and they made sure to put tarps down and cleaned everything up very well.  He also checked the operation of the gas logs with me afterwards and advised how to operate the flue. Would definitely recommend.

  • Called him up after seeing reviews on Angies List.  He set an appointment a week and a half ago and arrived on time as scheduled.  Inspected my chimneys inside and out and did a small repair on the basement fireplace.  Very polite, courteous and friendly - I would highly recommend this company.

  • I originally called S. Bradley for tuckpointing work needed at the front of the house and chimney. I called 4 other contractors to get quotes from, and Jeff from S. Bradley was the only one to actually pull out a ladder and spend the time to inspect the existing chimney and other mortar that needed pointing. What he actually discovered is the mortar at the chimney was completely gone and bricks were hardly hanging on. I trusted his judgement when he recommended rebuilding the upper part of the chimney that sticks out of my roof, opposed to just masking the problem with new pointing. I kept talking with Jeff about how to prevent and protect from future water damage to the joints. So we discovered the problem spots and decided to adjust a few gutters, correct the slopes, and provide flashing guards at corners and trouble spots. The more I spoke with Jeff, the more work i realized they could do for me, and i decided to also have them replace my garage roof and install a bathroom fan at the second floor.
Based on how thorough Jeff was on the inspection and the time he spent with me on just getting a quote, i felt they would do a great job if selected.
The work they performed was great and done on time. The new roof on the garage looks good, they provided a shingle with a great warranty, replaced damaged sheathing, and installed new flashing and drip edge that match the house. The new bathroom exhaust fan was installed with minimal cuts in the plaster ceiling and roof. The new built part of the chimney also came out good as new.
The only problem I had was with some of initial tuckpointing work. The mortar color they used was more grey than the existing tan color, they didn't repoint as many joints as originally discussed, and the joints they did do were not cleanly done. But, I let Jeff know and within 5 days they were back out there and re-did all the previous joints and also all the additional areas needed. The second time I think the actually owner of the mortar restoration company came out to do the work and he did a perfect job. All the joints matched the existing in color and profile, which is difficult to do with 60 year old joints. I could not have been happier with the job they did the second time out.
Overall, I am very happy with all the work they completed and would not hesitate to use them again. As an architect, i deal with contractors on a daily basis and have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly of construction projects. I would definitely put S. Bradely in my top list of contractor companies i have worked with and highly recommend using them.

  • Working with the contractor went well.  In all four trips were required including initial contact to discuss work to be done and get estimate.  For each visit a day and rough time for the contractor to  do work was arranged via email and the contractor called on the day to give a heads up that he was on his way. On initial visit, contractor listened to what I thought needed to be done and then discussed what he thought was needed to to accomplish what I wanted.  He gave a price for each task and indicated how critical he thought it was to maintaining the home.  He then left it up to me to select from his list which tasks I wanted performed. House is older with blond brick and sand mortar.  The contractor was able to match existing brick work very well.  Work extended over a couple weeks as the contractor allowed time for earlier work to set up before doing next required task. I am pleased with results.  The cost was fair for the amount and quality of the work performed.
