    Gilbert & Gilbert Construction
I had no difficulties whatsoever arranging for an estimate. His polite office manager promptly arranged for an estimate. Upon meeting Mr. Gilbert within a day or so after my call, I was immediately impressed with his knowledge of masonry. He was professional and courteous. A few days following our initial meeting, I received a nicely prepared written estimate. The estimate was comprehensive and the fees were fair. I was pleasantly surprised that he and his crew arrived promptly on the first day work commenced on my home. His crew was skilled, hard-working and very pleasant. The extensive repairs on my home took only 4 days because they came every day and worked a little later when needed. Today the work was completed and I could not be happier. The bricks and mortar perfectly match. Everything is up to code, and it looks beautiful. I am a member of Angies list specifically so that I would have access to authentic reviews by homeowners, like myself, seeking skilled, reliable and honest contractors. I was fortunate to find Mr. Gilbert on the list.

I have never felt compelled to write  a bad review before.  I have always been happy with the contractors that I have selected based on Angie's List's ratings.  I chose this contractor in no small measure because it had high ratings on Angie's list.  Unfortunately, my experience was not at all positive.

The materials for the new room were of good quality and the price was fair--no complaints.  However, I did encounter the following issues:

    1.  I asked the owner, Bob Round, to give me a few days notice before they started work so that I would have time to remove items of furniture, etc. from the existing room.  Despite this specific request, he called me at 7:30 PM on a Sunday evening and told me they would be there at 9AM the next day.  This caused me to have to do a "fire drill" to get the existing room emptied out that night.  This is a fairly small point, but annoying.

    2.  On a more serious note, when they poured the concrete for the new footer that would serve as the base for the walls of the new patio room, I noticed that along one course, the footer was not perpendicular to the back of the house, meaning that the wall would not be either, and that the room would not be "square."  I called Bob Round of APR to discuss this with him and was told they would be able to "adjust" for this and make the room square.  Yet when the room was constructed, it was not square--it was off by between 1.5 and 2 inches, which is discernable to the naked eye--you do not need a measuring tape to see it.  By this point, the room was finished.  When I called them on it, they did agree to lower the price by $1,000, since there was no real way to fix the problem.  While it is nice that they did something to adjust the price, the fact is that the room is not square.

    3.  The biggest issue, which I did not discover until more than a month after they finished the work, is that the concrete subcontractor/employee for APR took all of the surplus wet concrete and dumped it on the backside of a compost pile that I maintain at the back of my property.  This was done without my knowledge or permission, and while I was at work.  The wet concrete was dumped on the back side of the compost pile and then covered with material from the compost pile so that I would not see it.  When it dried, it dried to from a more or less continuous slab that was as much as four inches thick in some places.  I stumbled onto it on Saturday, July 2.  As a result, I got to spend several hours of my Fourth of July Weekend breaking this mass of now hardened concrete up with a sledge hammer and dragging it to the top of my driveway.  I now have a pile of concrete rubble that weighs at least 350 pounds sitting on my driveway, which I must find a way to dispose of.  I will be calling APR to ask them to take it away, but if they don't, I will have an expense.  Even if they make the matter right, I still am highly offended by this practice.  They obviously knew it was wrong--that is why they covered it up.  I cannot even be certain that I have discovered all of it yet.

As a result of the foregoing issues, I cannot at all recommend this contractor.  I wonder how many members have given APR a high rating but haven't found some dumped concrete somewhere on their property?

Pete was incredible. He was prompt in returning my phone call (call backed the same day I called). We scheduled a evaluation for which Pete was very punctual (actually arrived a little early) and LISTENED to my concerns and thoughts (have had other contractors discount what I was saying - they all missed the water leak causing the wood rot). He gave me an estimate and we set up a date. He is a very hard working individual, does wonderful work, & cleans up afterwards. I can't say enough good things about this contractor. My only regret is that I didn't meet him years ago. I was so impressed that I have already outlined other work that I would like done and Pete is going to do some research and then send me an estimate.

    Jemm Construction LLC
This was the 3rd project that JEMM did for us. They had done a beautiful living room remodel in January 2015 and a laundry room update in November 2014.  We had a screened-in patio on a concrete pad that was old, dirty, & worn. The estimate from one of those patio enclosure places was $1000 higher. We requested new insulated walls with no electrical improvements, windows & sliders to make this attached patio more of a 3 season room.
This was an easy project, requiring no digging nor permit from the city.  Demolition took approximately 4hours, and framing commenced the same day. Walls were 6" deep, which meant more insulation and wide windowsills. Four windows and two sliders were installed, & finish molding applied. The ceiling was simply re-painted after some scraping. We had them paint for us, which took no time. The exterior was vinyl sided, and the existing outdoor electrical was brought up to code.
The entire project took 2 weeks. We always knew when JEMM was coming and what they were doing. We spent more than we wanted but the cost of new construction is not cheap, and we knew JEMM's work would be stellar.

    Vincent Homes, LLC.
Excellent!.... Great.... Fabulous!. I am very happy that I chose Vincent Homes for the major remodeling work to my house. The garage came out great; the City of Euclid building inspector commented on how nice the cement pad was finished, and even took pictures of it. The room addition came out better than I expected. I am very happy with all the work that Mr. Marcellino and his craftsman did. Mr. Marcellino was always available, to stop by after I got home from work, to go over what was completed that day, as well as what he would do the next day. His timeline for the work was accurate, and every portion of the job was completed on time. Mr. Marcellino was able to work with the ideas that I had. Other contractors that I had interviewed just said no to some of my ideas, but Mr Marcellino did a great job turning my ideas into reality. I plan on remodeling my basement, and will call Vincent Homes again. Thank you, again...Maria

    Patio Enclosures
    Great Day Improvements (Patio Enclosures)
+ measured very well (i.e. within a 1/2 inch of the original window width)
+ manufactured as indicated during the original presentation and subsequent engineering measurement
+ installed including replacing ALL the interior components of the wall (i.e. 2/4s, insulation, window framing, etc.) that had been damaged by the leaking original window!
The manufacture went according to plan just about to the very day estimated.  The install went VERY well, as a matter fact, it was
wonderful and the result ABSOLUTELY great!!  The installers were conscientious, professional and careful with current interior flooring
and the exterior finish and trim.
We now have a window that looks great and is guaranteed for as long as we own our home!  Hard to beat!!  Our new window was installed in about 3 days and looks fabulous!  THANKS Great Day Improvements (Patio Enclosures)!

Entire process went smoothly...even after we made changes in the middle of the construction phase. The plans started out with a simple design and as the construction began we realized we would not be happy unless we made those changes. CBC never gave us any grief when making the changes. Entire project was copmplete within one month from start to finish. The main delay was due to the custom ordering of the windows. Had we gone with standard size windows off the shelf we would have been sooner.

    The House Doctors
Prompt reply to my request for an estimate. They had to get letter from HOA for approval and then get approval from city. That took several weeks. Once they started on the job, it took about a week longer that they said it would and they had to modify the plan.

Rudy Lipovec provided the estimate. I have had very good experiences with this company. This is the third job that they have done for me at this home. They had previously replaced an awning on the screened-in porch and later replaced two storm doors on the house and replaced a garage door. Timothy Aquila and all of the workers were polite and friendly. After they started working, they decided that the porch would look better if they enclosed the wood corner pillars with aluminum to match the windows. This was not part of the original contract. They ordered more materials and spend more time to make the project look better at no additional cost to me. I would certainly recommend them to others and would not hesitate to use them again.

Chad met with me immediately, the price was within our budget, I signed a contract and 10% of the total price was paid. The architect designed the deck and the porch enclosure. The plans were submitted to the city for permits to be issued. Chad at that time (Sept 2006)stated that an additional 30 % was due to order materials. I paid 12,000 Oct 1 2006. On Dec 14th, Chad emailed me and stated that materials would be delivered to my home next week, they never arrived. On Jan 9 2007, Chad emailed me and stated he was picking up permits the next day, he never did. On April 3rd, Chad again emailed me and said that he was picking up permits from the city, he never did. It is May 30 2007, I paid Chad Beeching $16,091.00, no demolition occurred, no materials were delivered and no work has been started. The contractor never registered with the city and the city discarded the permits. Chad was aware that I wanted this work done by Dec 2006. Very poor response to emails and phone calls.
