John and his crew do outstanding work. I have worked with a number of contractors in the process of renovating my home. John and his crew are some of the most reliable. The pay attention to detail and do high quality work. They get the work done on time--as promised. I look forward to working with them in the future.

    Brickworks/Tim's Masonry LLC
Couldnt be better, Tim and his son, also Tim, worked as a professional and efficient team to fix and point the brickwork. He managed to find bricks that matched the existing materials. The house was built in 1932, and the bricks are an unusual glazed rustic color, quite nice. All that work was completed in one day, we had to wait for the cement to dry, then the wood frame for the cement pad was created and the cement poured. Everything was done well, the pad was 1 more in depth than the original and looks very nice, with a grip inducing brushed surface. This was a big job, Tim explained that the work was to be done in three stages, communication was done by text, and Tim was very responsive. Wonderful job, and a sigh of relief because that porch was unsafe and unusable and Tim understood the urgency.

Work was performed while I was not home. Dirt still remained on many areas after work was completed. It probably would have to been cleaned first which was not mentioned prior to work done. My house looks spotty and only partially cleaned.

Very well. James White and his crew of professionals came to my home and relaid a very poorly laid walkway and two blocks of my driveway. The group is knowledgeable, personable and thorough. A very nice job was done!

On November 26, 2015 I had an electrical fire. We were at home and asleep at the time. It was very bad and destroyed most of the house. It was inhabitable and I was displaced. It needed to be gutted down to the studs. I found this company through word of mouth. They did such a great work on her kitchen. They fixed problems other contractors couldn't find. I called Zak the owner of the company and he came out right away. He went through the house with me and told me I would have a brand new house! HE kept his WORD! He worked with the insurance companies price and gave me an offer I couldn't refuse!! I got everything I wanted plus an added master suite! The project manager included me in every detail. Every person I spoke with was clean, neat, and courteous. This company has integrity, standards, and morals. Being a single parent with no experience in this sort of thing, I can truly say this team took great care of us and I would recommend them to anyone. I feel safe knowing that I am in a safe and well put together home!

    Mister Mason
I don't usually write reviews but I felt that this company clearly deserves an A+ rating.  I had a chronic leak into my fireplace hearth for several months.  Many attempts to solve the problem by my roofer failed. Hundreds of dollars later I decided to find a mason and read the reviews for Mister Mason.  Jim responded quickly to my call and came out the next day to give me an estimate. He explained very clearly what he would need to do and I was impressed with his knowledge and experience.  He started the job a few weeks later because of other jobs and many days of rain.  The scaffolding was set up a week ahead of time and his crew came and scraped and caulked and rebuilt many areas where the cement block had deteriorated.  He applied several coats of masonry paint and sealer and replaced the ash clean out door and didn't even charge me. The job was completed in one day and I am thrilled to say that the leak is gone!  Jim restored my chimney and my serenity!  I am definitely completely satisfied with his work and recommend him with no reservations.  He will be doing some other jobs at my son's houses this summer. Thank you Mister Mason for your expertise, professionalism and good humor!

    Richard Nowicki
Excellent!  I highly recommend Richard.  He returned my call promptly, and we made an appointment to meet the next day.  He completed the proposal on the spot after examining the site.  He and his son, Jason, were at the house within two days to pressure wash the front steps in order to prepare them for tuck pointing.  They also pressure washed the walkway.  They returned in another couple of days to finish up. The work was completed quickly and professionally.

    Palmieri Masonry
I agreed to him doing 2 steps, instead of one, as I assumed he would do the job properly, and up to building code. After he was done, I did tell him it looked good. I found out that just b/c something looks good, doesn't mean it was done well. I had a separate issue with my front porch. As I began to get estimates, 4 separate and unrelated professionals all told me the work Mr. Palmieri did was either done poorly, and/or not up to building code. These professionals included: another masonary, a levelling company and 2 construction companies. I still didn't want to jump to conclusions, so I contacted my City's Building Dept. The head of the Building Dept, and his Assistant came out to my property. They said the work he did was not up to code. They did state they were a bit surprised, as they knew of Mr. Palmieri, and he usually had done good work. I wrote Mr. Palmieri a letter stating what I had been told and stated I expected him to do the professionally responsible thing and reimburse me half my money. He replied, and refused, stating he did follow all codes. He wanted to know specifically which code he didn't follow. I contacted the Building Department.  They gave me the codes and I passed them onto him. He continued to say he followed all codes and wanted to know if the Building Commissioner actually measured the steps. I told him I didn't know and he'd need to speak with them ,as that wasn't my expertise. He spoke to the Assistant Building Commissioner. Afterwards, Mr. Palmieri stated he still did nothing wrong and that the officials from the Building Dept. never literally measured the steps, so they couldn't say he did anything wrong. When I checked back with the Building Dept., the Assistant Building Commissioner did state that he did tell Mr. Palmieri that he hadn't actually measured it. However he maintained the measurements were not correct, and told Mr. Palmieri that if he had pulled a permit, the discrepancy would've been discovered when they came out to inspect his work. I asked them if he was legally supposed to pull a permit. They said "Yes". When I confronted Mr. Palmieri with that information, he simply replied that he hadn't needed a permit in the past when he'd done work, similar to what he did for me. I believe it's his responsibility to know when he does and does not, need to pull a permit. I am still requesting half of money reimbursed, as the Building Dept. has continued to state he didn't follow code, and it could've been avoided if had pulled the permit,

Our stone planter which was attached to the house was falling apart. I wanted to repiar it uning the same stones and keeping the original look. Rich removed the soil from the planter, cleaned the stones and rebuilt it. The new planter is better than it ever was because he built in weep holes so there will not be a problem in the future. He also arranged the stones so the structure is much more stable. We have issues with stonework in the back of our home and we have asked him for a quote to repair that also.

    Brickwell Masonry
Randy recommended shortening one chimney by four feet because it was leaning. He reset the flue inside the rebuilt chimney. He extracted quite a bit of brick on the front porch and reset it using the leftover bricks from the chimney. He tucked and sealed all the gaps in the chimney and basically restored both chimneys. He was able to use a closely matching color of mortar so the work looks integral to the house. He redid an area of mismatched mortar and repaired other areas of the brick as well. He worked hard every day and coordinated the installation of the scaffolding with the neighbor so it would not tie up their driveway access more than one afternoon. I did not have to ask him to redo any work. He did all of this work for the original price. Randy provided a 15 year guarantee.
Randy repaired and remortared the effected areas to match the original work. He finished the job to my satisfaction within the time frame we agreed to. Randy is excellent to work with. He is extremely professional and helpful with suggestions. He has that old school work ethic, and you could tell he enjoys his work and has pride in getting things done the right way. It was very stress free dealing with Randy. He definitely went way above and beyond what you would expect from a typical contractor. I will always call him from now on with all my masonry needs. If you chose Randy, you will be happy you did.
