    I am delighted to have found Jaime��� Quality Home Improvements! He did a total rebuild of our wet bar in the family room and a remodel in the half bath. He did all building of the bar, flooring, installed lighting, wall coverings, electrical, plumbing, etc. His work and attention to detail are amazing. He thinks things through and finds the best solution, which I very much appreciated. He completed the projects in a timely fashion and was very fairly priced. I will use him for other projects I plan to do. I recommend him VERY HIGHLY. Great personality and great person! Thanks Jaime!

    Showed up 30 minutes late. Was only to be hired for some framing, drywall and 1 door on a 1100' house. His bid was $64,000.00 After wasting an hour of my time and half hour waiting for him this is what I get a week later. Framing is $4000 and drywall $8400 from another vendor how did this joker come up with $64,000??? He should have just said he wasn't interested. Waste of time and effort - DO NOT USE THEM.

    Showed up on time for bid appointment took up an hour of my time said he would get bid back to me within 10 days......never got a bid, emailed, he said he would follow up. "His secretary was off"; next excuse "I'll have to see where that went", next excuse 4 weeks later after I called and asked again where it was....oh I'll send it now. He never sent - I talked with him told him not to bother 6 weeks later. Finally sends after my agitation, he's $20K higher than others.DO NOT USE THEM.

    All of the homes in my neighborhood either have had to replace their chimneys, or will have to at some point, due to the original flawed design.  I appreciate that NHW corrected the flaw when the chimney was replaced so that I won't have to worry about it happening again.

    I only had one major issue and that was with a free hanging range hood that was installed that I hate.  It hangs too low and Josh was unwilling to remove it when I requested it.  He did offer to alter the unit at a cost and it would have voided part of the MFG warranty.  It should be noted that I did NOT pick out this hood, but rather was handed a brochure and accepted it as a good unit per Josh.  I assumed that he knew the specs of this and how it would look. 

    I will never use Mack & Son's as a contractor again.  The reasoning behind this is private and I won't discuss it on here.  However, if you do choose to use this company, GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING!  Don't accept anything verbal, or by email, and make sure you get a signed contract.  Of course, you should do that with any business deal.

    M&S installed a new walk in shower for me in the spring of 2011.  Since then, I have had to have the drain redone and all the silicone sealer removed and replaced with caulk due to leaking into my basement due to improper installation.  Initially, I was told by the repair company that the shower would have to be completely torn out and redone due to improper installation.  I contacted M&S's owner, Mack, and he came out.  He didn't say much, but I did spell out what I wanted.  He said he would go back to he office and pull up the paperwork and get back to me.  It was less and 30 minutes after he left and called to tell me that the wouldn't do anything because too much time had passed.  I was fortunate that the repair company looked closer into the problems and said that they could repair it without tearing out the shower.  However, this is still going to cost a lot to fix.

    There are other issues that should be address by M&S due to poor workmanship, but after this mess, I figured, why bother.  I won't get anywhere.

    It's kind of sad that when I first hired this company back in 2010, I was told that there was a reason that the word SERVICE was in there name.  That was because they service what that do regardless of how long it has been since the work has been done.  I understand that correcting a problem that was not their fault or is from general wear and tear will be charged for, but when it is clearly a defect due to workmanship, I feel they should foot the bill.  I know I certainly don't want them to redo the work.  They screwed it up the first time.  So, in my opinion, SERVICE in their name is nothing more that an empty word.

    The work went relatively quickly and without interruption to my daily life.  Walls were knocked down, new studs put in where needed. At the end of each day the rooms were swept and tools put away. Plastic partitions were draped to keep the dust in just the work area.  The wall and ceiling work was done first then the flooring.  Island installed and wired, exhaust hood installed over the stove.  Shower was the last to be installed.  The total job (with him waiting on me to do the painting) took about one and a half months.

    We signed a contract and paid $16,500 on 8/14/06. Work finally began on 9/26/06. We were told it was because of bad weather-6 weeks of it. We had many days that no workers were there, and no communication. The contract said I was to put 1/2 down and then 1/4 upon completion of the foundation, framing, roofing and insulation. The 1/4 payment was requested on 10/6/06 (no roofing or insulation had been done). I gave payment expecting materials to be obtained. When I inquired as to why no work had been done 3 days later, the owner SCREAMED at me. His diatribe told me I was not to ask questions. They now had $24,500 of my money and we still had no roofing material. Things continued to go down hill from there. At one point, we were told workers didn't like coming to our house because it was a hostile environment. When we inquired as to how it could be hostile when we were almost never home, we were told other people make cookies for them. We didn't get the doors we requested either.

    He replaced the wood that was decayed with new wood and capped it with aluminum type material (white) to prevent re-occurrence of the problem. It looks really good - hardly noticeable. I may see about having him put siding on the house in the Spring.
