Dryer Vent Cleaning reviews in Delaware

We ended up not needing their services. It was like for $100. They immediately provided me the information and were able to set an appointment right away. My interaction with them was very positive. The estimate I received was general.

Arrived on time and explained everything they were going to do. Got right to work and did a very through job cleaning the vents and cold air returns. They told us after inspecting the dryer vent that the previous owners of the condo we bought were very lucky that a fire had not occurred. We had not planned on getting the furnace cleaned but after they inspected it and showed us all the buildup we elected to have them do it also instead of the person I had hired to inspect the furnace. The furnace unit now runs much more efficiently. They did not in any way pressure us to have the furnace done by them but explained they were equipped with the right tools to get the job done correctly and left the decision up to us. After completion of the work they told us we would not need this done for another two years. The additional charge for the furnace was $125 and it was money well spent. We will never use anyone else for this type work and would recommend them to anyone.

Kevin and Gil were very professional. They cleaned all the air ducts. Let me know what they found. Cleaned the dryer vent. Pointed out that the dryer vent had screws on it which needed to be replaced with tape to prevent lint from getting caught in the vent and building up to cause a lint fire.

The guy was great.  Very helpful.  Good advice on care and info on vents.  He also looked at our vents in the basement and gave advice on how to save heat, etc.  I liked him a lot -- he seemed to care about the customer and making it a good experience, and not upselling all the time -- which was great and made me want to use them again (which we will).

I had lived in this house for 5 years and when I bought it, it was already 5 years old. Since the day I moved in it took two times through on the dryer to get it to dry completely.  It never dawned on me to have the dryer vent cleaned out until I saw a rather frightening statistic about home fires and clogged dryer vents.  He was on time, very professional and, obviously experienced.  He did a complete inpection, suggested and made a very good change to the way my dryer was hooked up, cleaned out the vent and put everything back in place.  My dryer works much better now and I have peace of mind.  Excellent service provider.

We hired this company through an Angies List deal for whole house vent cleaning and dryer vent cleaning for $39. For that price, just the whole house cleaning was more than fair. The reason for this post is that the technician also indicated that he cleaned the dryer vent. However, he did so from the INSIDE of the house, and never inspected the outside where the venting exits to the exterior of the home to confirm a clear path all the way out. In all fairness, our exterior vent is on an upper roof and it would be expected to represent an additional charge. However, he would not offer to clean it more thoroughly for an additional charge, and left us with the impression that he had cleaned a blockage from the inside. Afer a week and no improvement to the drying time of our dryer, I called a trusted appliance technician that we found through Angies List, and he confirmed that the dryer was functioning properly and that there must still be a blockage in the venting. I called Air Duct Busters back and explained the situation, and offered to pay them to come back out and clean the dryer vent correctly, i.e. from the Outside in. They stated that they would not do this, and that if our dryer vent had an exit point on a roof, they would not clean the dryer vent system from the outside (which is critical, if it is to be done correctly). I find this irresponsible, when they list their services as including dryer vent cleaning, market dryer vent cleaning under an Angies List deal, and yet do not offer to provide the service correctly so as to ensure safety of the dryer vent system. To their credit, they referred me to a company that does offer that service, and does so correctly. I called that provider immediately, and had them come out. That provider found almost three feet of debris and bird's nest blocking our dryer vent. Significant fire hazard. We cleaned out the vent, put a varmint-bird cover on the discharge, and the dryer is now working perfectly and safely. Air Duct Busters is a fairly priced and capable provider for whole house vent cleaning. However, they and any other provider who advertises **Dryer Vent Cleaning** should re-evaluate their marketing, or incorporate correctly-executed dryer vent cleaning into their offering. Until they do, they are leaving customers with a false sense of security that could very realistically result in fire damage or worse.

Very professional and knowledgeable.  Punctual and  completed job in short period of time.  FIRST REPAIR COMPANY FOR ANY TYPE OF SERVICE  I HAVE EVER HAD DONE WHERE THERE WAS AN ADDITIONAL SERVICE FEE WHEN I HAD THEM STAY AND DO THE JOB ONCE THEY WERE HERE..  Consequently I feel RIPPED OFF with the $49 additional service fee..

I was truly impressed by the guy who did our work.  He was professional, quick, and thorough.  He was happy to give me information about how things worked, what he was doing, etc.  I ended up doing an additional service at the time, because I felt it was important to do, and he gave a good offer.  He was really pleasant which struck me -- so many service people are professional, but not so jovial and wanting the customer to be happy with the job.  He also didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need or want, and that struck me too as great.  He said we're good for a longer period of time than I expected (or heard from other companies), so I will definitely go with this company again.  I feel like they are giving a service without trying to make extra money, etc. off the customer, and it breeds trust.  I was thinking probably we needed to have our dryer vent cleaned (the only reason I did it) -- and he found a bird's nest in there!  Not having it makes our dryer run so much more efficiently, which saves us money too.  I also learned that it is common for birds to nest in dryer vents, so I will keep an eye out for that now.

Hired Air Duct Busters to clean my air vents because they were highly rated on Angies List.  Last air duct company I bought a Groupon from, they never showed up twice.  Air Duct Busters said the basic package for $79 was only ducts and not returns.  For Ducts and Returns would be $269 and they would do my dryer duct.  Not knowing what is entailed in cleaning ducts, I figured that was good.  When they came out they also showed me how dirty my blower was in my heat exchanger and that it would be another $130 to clean that.  Because I wanted a clean start with this recently purchased house, I agreed.  First I want to point out the guy who came out was awesome.  Very personable.  The negative was that after I saw that they just stick a shop vac hose from a truck down my vents, and spray a solution from a hand squirt bottle of sanitizer from the front of the duct which only covers to the first bend, I was very disappointed.  They only spent an hour at my house, had no special tools, and charged me $400.  I could have spent half that on a good shop vac with extra hoses and some Lysol which at least would have probably traveled further in my ducts than a hand spray bottle.  I don't think they even got all my returns, because I saw no ladder, and some one of my registers was in the ceiling, and one return was near the ceiling.  Since there visit, I talked to a number of friends that have had air duct cleanings.  They talked about how other companies had special equipment including devices that craw down the vents to more thoroughly clean, and a tool with a long hose that sprays sanitizer all the way down the vents.  They also said the other companies show you the before and after with a camera, and one friend said they were pointed out the bag of dirt and debris that was extracted.  I got not of that.  For $400, they could have at least brought a $70 wall camera you can buy at Harbor Freight and show me my clean ducts.  I think next time I am just going to buy a nice shop vac and do it myself.  When I do, I think I will start my own company and only charge $300.  At even $300/hour, that is a pretty nice living.  Better than a doctor.

We had had some birds nesting in our dryer vent and wanted to get everything cleaned out before we put a grate over it to prevent another bird taking up residence in our vent.  He seemed very thorough and very nice and polite.
