    Dry Step Carpet Care
Annual deep cleaning includes Dry Step. Have used for two years and would not use anyone else. Easy to select services and schedule with on line form. Confirmation was fast for preferred date and time. Technicians are always very professional and thorough. I get all carpets, all tile, and all upholstery done each time. I have had my couch for 6 years and people ask if it is new. With two dogs Dry Step is a must!

Tony Carifa Marble and Tile Company
The Carifa team is exceptionally professional. From the first call, they were efficient and transparent on the project expectations for timing and pricing bids. Return calls were prompt and work was scheduled with excellent follow through. The subcontractor they worked with for the plumbing was also excellent. When the demolition turned up significantly more damage than anticipated, they worked with us to identify the best solution. The daily work was well organized, including good communication. The job site was kept very neat in our home. The marble tile work is excellent and the dust was kept to a minimum. We really appreciated their knowledge and commitment to the work. This was an enjoyable experience, not something I often say in remodels! We love the new updated bathroom shower and the new tub area! I would highly recommend the TC Marble and Tile Company and definitely use them again.

The Grout Medic - West Columbus
Estimator showed up in old work clothing. No uniform or shirt to prove he worked for a company. No official form to make the estimate or provide a quote. Wrote notes on the back of a scratch piece of paper and said he would email me the quote. The quote never came and never heard from him again. I called a competitor and he came out in 2 days and already finished the job. Do not recommend this company :(

    The Grout Doctor
Three weeks after the work was done the grout began to chip in several spots. When I called Fred his reaction was to blame me. He became immediately defensive and combative. He came out to my house angered because I was offended by his reaction to blame me before he even heard me out on the phone or saw the damage. In addition, by the time he came to my house there was even more grout coming up and it was clear this would be an ongoing issue and would mean an escalating relationship that would no doubt end with him eventually not returning my phone calls- his attitude was so horrible. So he came to my house and I refused to let him fix the damage because I could see where this would go down the road. I just wanted my money back and him out of my life. He threw what could only be described as a tantrum. I stood up for myself and told him to just return my money. He yelled and threw his arms around. He yelled that I got the "deal of a lifetime and that the floor looked good except for those places and that he'd send me a check." He slammed my door and hollered all the way out to his truck and now, nearly three weeks later and two phone calls to him I have still not received my refund and grout continues to chip away. And I wonder what kind of business model is: "It looks good except for those places"?? He's a nasty man with a nasty temper. I would never be alone in a room with him. Total rip off from a nasty man.

    Kitchen Solvers of Columbus
After years of frustration trying to resolve some design issues with my standard-issue 1990s kitchen (anyone whos tried this can tell you its a house of cards!), I did my research one more time, and was lucky enough to find the highly-reviewed Brad Hulls at Kitchen Solvers of Columbus. Brad took the time to listen to my kitchen needs/complaints, concerns, and ideas, and enthusiastically helped me brainstorm solutions that would modernize my kitchen and stay within my (Spartan) budget. He sketched out several ideas and showed me potential plusses and minuses of the changes I was considering. He was always respectful of me and my budget. Once the plans were finalized, Brad scheduled each phase of our project with respect to the process and my work schedule. Any kitchen remodel is a complicated process, and because its happening right where you live, while you live there, the people who will be working with you are as important as the materials theyre installing. Brads crew of contractors were singularly pleasant and professional. Every member of his team worked hard, and did careful, concise work while respecting my property and my over-friendly golden retriever. They all cleaned up at the close of each work day and took trash offsite. John Haywood, a master craftsman who did the resurfacing of our cabinets, did an exceptional job. The cupboards look like custom work. Brads advice was right on point, and helped me get the most bang for my buck. The kitchen looks greatweve stepped forward twenty years. The small genius changes we made in the layout have given me room for a real refrigerator and more work space, all with a custom look at a price below a low budget big box renovation that would have taken three times as long. If youre considering a kitchen makeover, whether large or small, it will be well worth your time to talk to Kitchen Solvers of Columbus.

The Grout Medic - West Columbus
I recently called the Grout Medic (Tom and Chad are the brothers who own it), to come out to my house to refinish my tile floors and grout in my kitchen and mud room (including backsplash in the kitchen). They said they could make them look brand new. I was skeptical. After 12 years in my house, with three kids, and many parties, the tile floors in my kitchen were a mess. Caked on dirt and wax from cleaner and the grout was almost a mud color. But I decided to give them a try before replacing the entire floor for much more $$. These guys scrubbed every inch of that floor with cleaners, steamers and razors, and then regrouted using a color grout sealer. They look brand spanking new. I could not believe it. If you want your tile to look brand new, call these guys.

    Abode Home Maintenance
Overall it went really well. Brian and crew were very flexible with our schedule and price points on materials. They offered to add on the paint for the walls, but in the end we wanted to to keep that a DIY project to save ourselves some money. In terms of other handymen/bathroom remodel shops we interviewed, Abode was by far the best with their price and portfolio of work. Excellent work and I would recommend them to anyone.

    Graham the Handyman
We contracted with this company to complete the above work. They showed up when expected and worked on the job for two days. The person completing the work began by trying to cover up live outlets with tile. He said no one would know. After explaining to him that I only wanted work that was code he told me he couldn't do the job the way it should be done. After some debate he miraculously came up with a solution. (Just a little more work) He completed the tile on two walls however, the tile were not straight and stuck out in places. He also messed up the pattern. He then started a minor drywall repair that turned uneven and he didn't finish. I spoke with Fred Graham regarding the tile and advised that he would have it fixed. Fred showed up at my house at around 8:00 a.m. on a weekend morning unexpected with another contractor to look over the work. I showed him the issues with the tile and the drywall work. He attempted to explain the poor work by saying they were only handymen. I responded to this statement by explaining that if he couldn't do the work contracted he shouldn't have accepted the job. He was not pleased. He left my residence and did not return. He would not return my calls and I was left with the very very poor kitchen. We paid Fred half the money for the job. This is the second contractor to stand us up on the job. Extremely disappointed by the "A" rating he received from Angie's list. How this guy and his crew ever got such a rating is beyond me. Extremely disappointed in the response I received from Angie's list also. They told me to pick another person from the list of contractor's. I would never use Fred Graham again or recommend him for anything short of a dog box. I would use more caution when choosing a contractor from Angie's list.
