We felt like we had a partner during what is normally a very high stress process, from the girls at the office communicating updates and deliveries to the on-site crew scheduling. Tim assured it all came together on time and on budget, including meeting all the inspection requirements. AKaye Construction, LLCThis started right after COVID hit, so it had it's rough patches with getting supplies, sub-contractors, permits, etc. But Ron was very good about keeping in communication and letting us know about the delays. The finished product came out better than I had hoped. Any issues or concerns I had, Ron fixed for me right away and made it right without trying to charge me for extras. I have worked with contractors in the past that stick exactly to the agreement and any slight extra they charge you for. The reality is, things change a lot during the process, and you find yourself wanting to changing things up a bit. Ron was very receptive to listening to what I wanted and made sure I was happy with the finished product, and was very flexible with the original agreement making it easy to make these small changes on the fly. This is a family business, which means they treat you like family too. I look forward to working with the Kaye boys on our next project.- Eric S.

Chris showed up quickly on the morning after our roof was punctured by a tree limb and arranged to have a temporary patch until we could talk to the insurance company and get permanent work done. The temporary patch lasted 2 weeks with no leakage which allowed us to go on an already planned vacation and delay the work on the roof until we returned. Everyone was easy to deal with, the work was done on time and the guys were polite and cleaned up after themselves. Needing a new roof isn't anyone's first choice of things to do, but it couldn't have been easier!- Albert R.

AJim and his crew are dedicated hard working professionals. The cost was very reasonable and he worked hard to source the materials needed despite the fact that they were in short supply. They pay attention to detail and take their time to get things right. It took a good 3 weeks to build our deck and there were between 2-3 guys working every day. I was glad that they were patient and not rushed at all. The other thing that jim does well is he gives a very detailed accounting of what different things cost and when payment was expected. I am going to use him again for some basement finishing as well.

FDuring the initial meeting when we received our estimate and up until the day we signed our contract, we were very pleased with our decision to go with Mike and his company. He had lots of information to pass along, plenty of "5 stars" and "A Ratings" with documentation to prove it. Lots of wonderful talk and paperwork showing how important his clients were to the success of his company. Once we signed our contract everything began to go downhill. It took more than 3 months to get the new roof put on (was told no more than 4 weeks, weather did play some of a roll in this so we didn't hold a grudge over it). However, they came and installed an entire new roof and tear down in one day while my wife and I were at work, no notification they were coming or working at the house that day. No chance for us to see what it looked like below the shingles, no chance to meet his subcontractors, no chance to take the dogs somewhere for the day. The very first rain came just a few days later, we had 2 new leaks. Mike wouldn't return our phone calls and it took another 8 weeks for them to come out and fix the damage (on the outside, we were responsible for all the new damage inside the home). Another 5 months went by, playing phone tag and exchanging text messages with Mike. We were continually told we were next on the docket for gutters. Finally we cut our losses and hired another company to do it instead. No apology, no coverage for new damages, and overall a terrible experience that I would not hope for any homeowner. In the year and half since, we have had to do more repairs on our "new" roof, and rather than use our warranty we have paid to have someone else come and work on our home. Our money deserved to have gone elsewhere.

AThis is the second job I've done with Gilbert & Gilbert, and I plan on using them again. They do excellent work, are very reasonably priced, and can usually get to my job quickly. Last year, they rebuilt my front steps (which look fantastic), so I turned to them again for the tuck-pointing. Greg Gilbert is responsive to my calls, and I can always get in touch with him when I need him. When some additional, unexpected work arose on the back stair rebuild -- as happens with old houses - Greg warned me immediately, and the price increase was quite fair, given the additional work. His quotes are detailed and clear, and always reflect what we've talked about and what he actually does.

AWe met Sean McCloskey while contracting through Hartville Hardware for installation of some kitchen backsplash tile. Upon learning Sean had his own custom home remodeling business, we contracted for some additional upgrades in our Great Room. This was the third project Sean has done in our home. This project consisted of designing, building, and installing a fireplace surround with mantle, flat panel TV and soundbar, adjacent bookcases and base cabinets, and LED ceiling lighting, in such a way as to have an integrated look with existing room trim and paint. The design concept took time to achieve, as homeowner preferences and room specifications were gathered and ultimately reduced to CAD files/drawings, prior to homeowner sign-off. Materials of construction were reviewed and approved prior to commencing build. Sean and his design team invested a significant amount time to get the design right. Most of the build and finish painting was performed offsite (Sean’s workshop) with final assembly, trim work, and touch-up painting performed onsite. Sean communicated frequently to ensure we were kept abreast of timing as the project proceeded towards completion. Sean is a master-craftsmen with a keen eye for detail, as well as a creative flair. Our goal was to have this remodel look as if it was original installation (a 20-year-old condo). Sean and his team exceeded our expectations. Overall, we were delighted with the exceptional workmanship performed. Timing and job cost matched the estimate provided. We will not hesitate to have future work performed by Sean and his team.
