    Hospice of Dayton Inc
It is the most awesome organization with staff and people that I have ever met in my entire life. Their facility is wonderful. The staff is excellent. I would do anything to support them. We had their services for part of March, all of April and first few days in May. Whenever I needed them and it didn't matter the time of day or night and I call them and somebody comes. They were just wonderful. They don't provide home health aides but they have a nursing staff and they have attendants that can come and do things like bath patients. They have volunteers come out and do haircuts. The nurse co-ordinates the team and whatever the patient needs. They aren't with you 24/7. If there is a medical crisis they can have people with the patients 24/7 and that is a day or two of crisis care. They provide everything that the patient needs with regards to medical treatment and by getting health care comforts at the end of life. I liked that they screen the people that they hire. The people that they hire are very compassionate and very understanding of cancer patients needs and end of life care needs. They don't get ruffled if the patient gets upset or uses foul language. Yolanda Jenkins was very, very soft spoken and she could just look at him or touch his hands and make all the difference in the world of how he is feeling. All the staff that we met and had experience with was like that. You need to have a desire for wanting to help people that know they don't have much life left and do it with care and compassion. I heard wonderful things about them. I have friend whose mother was a first patient there and I have another friend who did volunteer work for them for a while and so in my mind there was no question as to who we would call when Jim needed care. What I heard about the reputation that they had was true. I had a friend who was dying of cancer and I went to visit her as I wanted to see how the in house experience was like and I didn't know if Jim would need that and again that facility was wonderful. They would always call if they had to cater to other patient at the same time. Jim had a real high pain tolerance and we were having trouble finding a pain medication that would actually help him. He had cancer that metastasizes to the bone and I understand that is very painful cancer. So we were trying to remediate his pain level. Morphine worked most of the time and it is a good drug because it doesn't have the side effects like some of the others do. It was a fine line of trying to figure out of what will work and I personally was satisfied with what they tried and try to get him to a level to help him. It was difficult for him to not recognizing pain until it was off the chart. I had hospice coverage with my insurance and we didn't have any difficulty with the billing.

    Edwards, Dr. Margaret
She seems genuine and trusted and motivated to improve the health of her usually very ill homebound patients. She has excellent bedside manner and excellent nurses that accompany her. She is very open to the patient's idea on medical treatment.
