Eye Care reviews in Dayton

The process went great (easy, quick & pain free) and the results were awesome. I immediately had 20-20 (or better) in my corrected eye and could function without any glasses (near or distance). Over the next few weeks after the procedure, my eyesight improved even more as my eyes learned to work together.

    Gemini Eye Care Center
I received an eye exam and glasses but could not see out of the glasses. I have been in glasses for over 30 years and know it takes time to get use to them but I could not get use to them they immediately caused a headache. They told me the RX was all they could provide. I spent another 100.00 and went to another eye doctor and got an RX that worked they agreed to put the lenses in my frames at Gemini and I have had no problems with the glasses since. But due to it taking 4 times to get the glasses redone Gemini would not replace the lenses when they cracked and said I already used my warranty.

    Stahl Vision

Horrible.  I do not have cataracts, but I wanted to improve my distance vision while still being able to focus on near objects, and I had read about new lenses that would provide what I wanted.  Good distance vision is vital in my profession and glasses are often a hindrance.  I cannot wear contact lenses due to dry eyes.  Dr. Stahl recommended Crystalens and preformed the procedure on my right eye with plans to do the left eye at a later date.  After the surgery, I was given exercises to do and a pair of readers to use.  Apparently, the expectation was that I would need the readers temporarily because of my "improved" distance vision, and no matter how many times I tried to explain to Dr. Stahl and/or his staff that my vision had not improved so the readers were making it impossible for me to see near objects, he did not listen.  I did all of the exercises as instructed (in reading glasses that nearly blinded me) and after the initial "breaking in" period during which my new lens should have adjusted, I was finally given an eye exam which concluded that my distance vision was nearly exactly what it was before the surgery.  In addition, the eye was (and still is) uncomfortable and although the vision tested about the same as before, everything looked bleary, like I was looking through saran wrap that had been placed over my eye.  The discomfort and bleariness persist after a year and a half.  Dr. Stahl offered to do another procedure (or two) to try to improve the vision in my damaged eye, but I did not trust him to do further work - what if he made it even worse?

Overall, my experience with Stahl Vision was terrible.  I was treated like a part on an assembly line.  If you have questions, you better hope that the staff knows the answers, because Dr. Stahl seems to allot a very short amount of time per patient.  On one occasion, he walked out of the room while I was in mid-sentence asking him a question.  His assistant looked very embarrassed and tried to ease my anxieties, but if this had happened prior to the procedure, I probably would have walked out the door.  The only time I felt I was given any personal attention from Dr. Stahl was after it was all over and I was near tears because of the outcome.

I consulted with another eye specialist in Cincinnati shortly after my bad experience.  A member of the staff there confided in me that their office has seen a number of patients who are trying to correct mistakes made by Stahl Vision.

I just received in the mail a coupon from Stahl Vision for a free lasik exam and $1500 off Lasik surgery, which is what prompted me to write this review so many months after my negative experience.  My advice would be to make the trip to Cincinnati if you are in the market for eye surgery; don't risk your eyesight with Stahl Vision.

    Pickerington Eyecare
Everyone was polite and quite prompt. I expected the appointment to last twice as long as it did. No one rushed me or felt rushed, they were just incredibly organized and running ahead of schedule. I was very impressed. I have not yet purchased glasses at this location, however.

    Entyre Vision Care
I found the doctor to be friendly, knowledgeable, and communicative. She performed a battery of visions tests to determine the quality of my vision and the best solution. The office staff was friendly, though sometimes a bit harried if people were already waiting and more came in. The office is neat, nicely kept, and conveniently located. They have a good selection of frames, and I had no problems using my insurance. I'd highly recommend using them if you have any vision needs.

    Stanton Optical
I had an eye exam elsewhere but my eye doctor didn't have any frames that I liked, so I found some at Stanton. As far as frame options, they have a great selection. While they push the 2nd pair special, I only needed one pair for wearing at night... They said they'd be ready in a couple weeks. Sounded great... but when I called after a few weeks, no, they're not done yet. No, we don't know when they'll be ready... This repeated for a good 2 or 3 months before they were finally ready. Every time I called to check if they were done (because they will never call you), the customer service was the absolute rudest I have ever experienced. The way they responded makes it hard to believe they can even operate a business. When my husband called and they were finally ready, the guy said he finally found the glasses stuck back somewhere they didn't belong. (Again, they will never call you like they say --- YOU have to call THEM.) My advice, maybe buy frames there for the selection, but go anywhere else for the lenses unless you're in absolutely no hurry and don't mind rude employees.

    Stahl Vision
They are wonderful and I highly recommend them.  They were wonderful.  They annually go abroad to several countries as doctors are in need and perform eye surgery on very poor people for free.  They are just outstanding people and outstanding at what they do.  In California I've had previous surgery on my eyes and when I had these cataracts I took a fall so there was trauma.  Stahl Vision gave me almost perfect vision.  It was a lot worse than just cataract and Dr. Knowles pulled through for me completely hundred percent.  They run the most efficient office and all of their people are very professional.  Dr. Knowles had been the head eye surgeon.  They are just unbelievably good.  I cannot recommend them more highly.  I even passed my driver's test without glasses.  I'm incredibly lucky that they did the operations for me.

    Slamer, Dr. Richard
I have been going to this Dr's office since 1971. I really like Dr. Slamer. He is thorough and personable. He answered every one of my questions thoroughly. He explained why he was suggesting the adjustment in my contact lenses, in a way that I understood, and I agreed with his diagnosis.
This office offers the ability to have detailed photos taken of the retina, in order to detect possible issues (such as macular degeneration, etc), and they explain the benefits and the costs, which might be more than insurance covers. I chose to have the photos taken, since I have many eye diseases in my family. Dr Slamer showed me the photos and explained the indications fully.
The staff is great. They researched my insurance benefits prior to my arrival and explained my eligibility. They answered all my questions nicely. The person (I wish I knew her name) who helped me browse for eyeglasses was especially Terrific. She knew exactly what colors/shapes looked right for my face and she was extremely personable.
I highly recommend this office for your eye exams.

    Eye Mart - Miamisburg
The eye exam was a good value for the money and was really helpful to me. After I picked out my frames, someone sat down with me and really helped me pick the right frames, not just the way that they look but how they fit my face, rather than just letting me take a frame, with no guidance that I'd be better off having. They take a little bit more trouble to make sure that you get something that you're going to be happy with.

    Dayton Eye Associates
I'm happy with them. My doctor is very efficient and very good. He's very professional and very good. It used to be hard to park there, but now they have free valet service. You just pull up, and they take your car and park it for you. When you come out, they go and get your car.
