    Ahrens Architectural Woodworking, llc
Thomas did a fantastic job on our kitchen cabinets. He hung all of our inset cabinet doors, made a couple of doors to match others, and built drawer boxes that fit perfectly into our existing cabinet bases. He was professional, kind, and very intent on executing the job to perfection. He is a true craftsman who loves what he does. I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again for any woodworking project for our home. We were so happy to have hired him.

We signed a contract with Mr. Sousa on 9-24-2016. He told us that work would begin sometime in April, 2017 because he was finishing a big job. He stated that when he began a job, he made your project his only priority. He also said that he could make any style of cabinet door we wanted, which appealed to us. We did our due diligence and checked references and friends had used him for work in the past. We agreed to the delayed start date and paid him a 50% deposit. Work on our kitchen did not actually begin until 7-17-2017. At first, Mr. Sousa came on time and worked a fairly normal day (5-6 hrs with a lunch break). The longer the project went on, he tended to arrive 1-2 hrs. after he said he would be here, would work an hour or two and leave for lunch. Sometimes he came back and worked for another hour or so. He left for the day most days by 3 pm. When he reached the point where he would be working on our cabinet doors, hutch, and entertainment center, he stated that he would be in his workshop and not coming to the house as often. What he did not tell us was that he would disappear for a month at a time. This happened several times and we found out that he was working on a bathroom project for another customer! He even told us that he was going on a "golf vacation" but we also found out that he was not on vacation, but working at the other job. By November 2017, we had to tell him that we could not cook our Thanksgiving dinner without having our tile backsplash installed. Our countertops were installed on 10-12-17, so he had plenty of time to get the tile installed prior to Thanksgiving. We also did not have any cabinet doors or drawer fronts installed until we finally got drawer fronts right before Christmas. (We lived with screws sticking out of our drawers so we could use them from the end of October until mid December.) All along, Mr. Sousa kept saying that he was "working on our doors" but we only had a few installed by the time I confronted him on January 10, 2018. I asked him to tell me honestly, without any of his excuses, to tell me when our project would be finished since it was coming up on 6 months since he began. I was also aware that he had begun a new kitchen project before he finished with ours. He admitted that he was working on the other projects, and said that he would be done with our job in 3 weeks. We did not get all of our cabinet doors and our punch list of items to complete (mostly) until 3-9-2018, (mainly because he told the new kitchen customer that he would be working full time on their job beginning March 12). Our kitchen ceiling was having issues with showing tape lines from where the mudding was done incorrectly by someone that Mr. Sousa hired to mud the drywall that was installed. He left this person unsupervised and the guy clearly had no idea of what he was doing because most of his work had to be redone. He also left his 14 year old grandson unsupervised hanging drywall at one point! After trying to fix the ceiling issues 3 times between March and July 2018, you can still see imperfections. We will say that the custom cabinetry Mr. Sousa completed for us is very nice and the door style is just what we asked for. He complained constantly about how difficult they were to make and that was why it was taking so long to get them finished. We countered that if he wasn't doing 2 other projects during the time that our job was supposed to be his "only priority", they could have been finished much sooner. The final assessment after dealing with Sousa's Kitchens for over 1 year is that the result is a kitchen we really like, but the dishonesty and delays made it a negative experience overall.

The woman came twice, her boss came once to re-measure, then nothing. She had quit and when I spoke with him he just gave me a price over the phone, I have no idea what was included, or not included. They must have enough business without mine.

Vicki and her team are very responsive to any questions/concerns. It was a pleasure to work with Cabinet Creations. The cabinets are gorgeous! I would say they are exactly how Vicki envisioned them, but that doesn't really do justice to them, or the work that Vicki and her team did in measuring, helping me select the style and color, making sure the design went with the rest of the bathroom. Vicki came out as they were being installed and made sure everything was as designed. Cabinet Creations gave us the preliminary plans, in-progress plans, and final plans for the whole bathroom and cabinetry. We had a double-vanity sink with an extended make-up table, linen cupboards, sundry and medicine cupboard, and cabinets for sweaters and shoes made. Just excellent!

    Custom Wood Creations LLC
Excellent! They initially came to our house and were very helpful and patient in helping us design what we wanted. They also came to our house for us to approve the design & finish, and then delivered a product beyond our expectations. We are very pleased and would definitely recommend them for a professionally well-designed custom wood product.

    High Point Cabinets
David was great! He was very thoughtful and pleasant to work with. He spent a lot of time designing and discussing the kitchen with us, thought of all the details that we didn't think about, and gave us lots of great advices. He worked with us more like a friend trying to help out more than a business trying to sell something. His business is about 3 hours away from our house but he drove out to see our kitchen, and talked to us a lot over the phone and emails. It was just a little more expensive than Home Depot, but the quality of the cabinets and the service was so much better! We couldn't be happier!

    Custom Wood Creations LLC
I am so happy that I hired Custom Wood Creations for my project! Beth was very helpful and professional throughout the whole project. I can't say enough about the quality and craftsmanship of the beautiful cabinets that Travis made for us. They transformed our whole family room! I also decided to have them add crown molding on top of my kitchen cabinets and I love how it gave my cabinets an updated look. I love their attention to detail, not only on the woodwork but also the installation details. The project went just as promised and I am thrilled with the final results!

    If I Had a Hammer
Greg explained clearly his vision for our new kitchen and then gave us an accurate estimate. He ordered all very high quality materials; wooden cabinets, sink, all hardware, fixtures, lights, trim and flooring. Greg and Ted did all installations in an expert and timely manner. They have a very good work ethic and are honest and reliable. They are dependable. Every part of their work is done with great skill and care. We are impressed with their craftsmanship and ability to solve any problems or unexpected surprises that arise along the way. We had some complicated electrical issues which they fixed; no problem. They are always optimistic, patient and calm regarding every step of the project. They work with you every step of the way to make sure everything is the way you want it to be and that you're happy with it. We are very glad to have found "If I Had a Hammer". They have solved many of our house problems, including some that other professionals failed to recognize and solve. They are competent, and their prices are fair. Our whole kitchen came together wonderfully. We highly recommend "If I Had a Hammer" for remodeling. They remodeled one of our bathrooms, retiled our basement floor, replaced our basement sink, and did a super neat job painting our living room, dining room, hallway all trim and vents. It seems there is really no home remodeling jobs they can't do, and do very well.

The process of getting a new kitchen was explained thoroughly by our project manger, Bruce. He stepped us through what we needed to do to get things rolling which could have been scary, but our fears were put to rest.

Choosing the cabinets, floor tile, appliances, lighting, sink, and countertop went smoothly. Appliances were purchased and delivered on time using a recommended distributor at better prices than the big box stores.

The work crew was fantastic. They cleaned up before they left for the day and let us know what time they would start the next day ... They always showed up on time. We've never experienced such professionalism in a work crew. They obviously cared about the quality of their work.

    We would unequivocally recommend KBD.
