This was a total re-roof due to hail damage.

The sales contact, John, was very helpful working with me on the extra documentation required by the insurance and mortgage companies. Scheduling support was good, the company worked closely with me to get this done when the weather was right. The crew showed up exactly on time and was fast, professional, and did an good job of keeping the areas around my house cleaned up. Danny did an excellent job on the flashing and finishing. I particularly appreciate his attention to detail on a special request to install a rubber underlayment on a specific problem area on my roof. Overall this was an excellent job.

Bauer replaced our roof, chimney flashing, and gutters.

We had Bauer come out to the house to inspect for storm damage last fall. Storm damage was found and Paul worked with our insurance company to get the damage repaired. We scheduled the roof replacement for the spring and were going to wait till then. In the mean time, we decided to sell our house. We called Bauer and they quickly fast-tracked the job and got it done. We are very happy with the service provided and the job done.

I used Bauer Roofing & Siding Inc. They finished the work and me the bill on 27th of December. They took off the existing roof which was two layers and gutters and so forth. They put all that back. They installed six back fence, replaced three back sheets of wood, ten feet of down spout and one valve.

They did a competent job. They came back to do things that were requested. The only problem that we had was that, they were fairly late at night. It gets dark at about 5:30 and they worked till about 6:20. They started up over the garage and they didn’t see the chalk line they had put. They put extra bents over the garage and attic. It really didn’t come out well. They were ready to come and redo it. But my son said, that wasn’t a good idea to do that. We had made the down payment was made in August and they got around in November or December. They got around to it when they could. It’s a stronger bond and doest look strong when it is redone. I would use them in the future.

I used Bauer Roofing & Siding to bid on roofing my house as well as putting on new gutters and downspouts.

We have used them before and have a little different process. They come out and look at your roof and then send you an estimate -- you don't even have to be home when they review your roof. If you agree it to you just sign it and send it back. Then they send a representative out to talk about the details including the color of the shingles and such. They were the low bid of the three but we wanted to do some gutter upgrades and they did not include any of those in their bid. We had already chosen a vendor by that time so we did not pursue a quote revision. I will allow them to bid again in the future.

They put a cap on the end of one gutter that previously dumped huge quantities of water on the porch every time it rained. They installed a gutter across the front of a porch that previously did not have a gutter.

We were originally thinking about having the ceiling of a porch repaired, but it turned out to be a more complex project than we were ready to take on. (The previous owner built the porch himself, and not very well. It will take a significant overhaul to repair it completely.) In any case, we decided at least to have gutters installed across the front of the porch, and an endcap put on another gutter that leads to the porch, so we could enjoy the porch during rainstorms without getting soaked. The man who did the estimate was very professional and up-front about what they could and could not do. We scheduled the work, and it was done efficiently and on time. The next time it rained, however, the new gutter leaked a bit. We called Bauer, and they sent somebody out immediately to remedy the problem. It's been up for a year or so now, and we haven't had any other problems. We are now planning to have new gutters installed on our entire house, and Bauer is the first company we will contact.

Repaired storm damaged side gable rake trim. They removed the damaged trim and replaced it.

The sales rep responded to my email request for a quote in a timely fashion. We have worked with this company before and know they do good work. This was a minor job. I approved the quote by phone on 3/25. We were not in a hurry to have the work done. Crew showed up on 3/31. They made no contact with us. Just did the job and left. We were home but since this was a minor job we were not offended that the crew didn't speak to us. We feel the price is a little high - but it is in line with most other companys. I know the material isn't expensive and the two man crew was here for less than an hour. $360 for one piece of trim and less than an hour's work is a little high, in our opinion.

They removed all the existing gutters and installed new gutters.

The gutters that were installed are great. However, they had to remove decorative brackets on the front of the house and then realized afterwards that they wouldn't fit once the new gutters were up. Ours is an historic home, so we were upset and they couldn't find a way to solve the problem. Also, they were not careful cleaning up the old gutters, which were on the back lawn. We had to remind them to come get them, and even then found pieces of metal in the yard that could hurt our children. I had to comb through the yard just to make sure it was safe before my children could go out and play.

Service Provider Response
We completed the installation of new 6" gutter at the end of May, 2010. The old gutter was a 5" style with a decorative bracket under the gutter. The bracket had to be removed in order to accomodate the additional size of the gutter. We also repaired rotted fascia wood behind the gutter. We did have another work order written on June 21, 2010 to re-install the decorative pieces of metal, but was cancelled by the homeowner before we could complete the installation. We do not have any other notations in the file that indicate the customer had a problem with the job.
