    Davies, Dr. Donald
I entered the office and was warmly greeted by the receptionist.  Instead of being handed  all new paperwork to complete, I was given my forms from the last time I had been there (4 years ago), and asked to check for any needed changes.  We chatted some until I was warmly greeted by another woman and taken back to where the procedure would take place.  She and I talked until we  were joined by a third woman who would be assisting.  I was asked if I was comfortable, offered a blanket, and then offered an IPOD to listen to during the root canal, which I gladly took.  Dr. Davies came in when I was ready, warmly greeting me as the others had.  After explaining what was going to happen, he began.  His assistant was near my side and patting me as I was given the shot.  Throughout the procedure which had some complications, my comfort was maintained, and there was absolutely no pain.  After everything was over, the two women again asked if there was anything I needed.  Dr Davies re-entered the room and talked to me in detail about what he had done, and chatted about trivial things, seeming to be in no hurry to leave the room.  I had taken a new antibiotic prescription with me, to ask him if it would be ok to take, since I knew I would be needing a prescription for after the procedure.  The prescription was ok'd by the doctor, and I was handed a cup of water and urged to take a pill then.  I was also offered a pain killer prescription, which I didn't feel I needed, but I was urged to at least take the written orders. I was then handed 3 Advils to take then, and given an envelope containing several more when asked if I had any at home to take.  When I left the office, Dr. Davies handed me an information sheet, which contained his home number, and urged me to call him if I had any problems or questions.  When I got home later that evening, I found a message from Dr. Davies on my home phone, inquiring how I was doing and thanking me for agreeing to take the earlier appt, which had enabled another patient to be able to be treated.    I will be returning to Dr. Davies office in 6 months for a follow-up appt.  I highly recommend Dr. Davies and his staff to anyone needing a root canal.  Everyone in the office strive to provide the best service possible in what can be a stressful situation.  I found them all warm and very accommodating, highly competent and professional.

I was overall very pleased with Dr Kiser, and if I decide to have the procedure performed, I will probably have Dr Kiser do it.

Dr. Jeffrey W. Krause, Oral/ Maxillofacial Surgery
The day of the surgery I was brought right back, no waiting. I was placed in the chair and they took my blood pressure. As soon as they finished the pressure, they put the IV into that same arm and within seconds I was out. There was no time to get scared or anxious. When I woke up I had minimal pain. All the instructions were written out so I could read them later when I was more awake. I followed what I was suppose to do and everything went great. Within 2 weeks I was eating on that side of my mouth without any discomfort. He was great and I will use him again. I just wish he did crowns too!

It is about a 50% savings for us compared to regular dentists. They are extremely courteous. It does take more time, but their car is above and beyond what I have experienced from other dentists. They make you feel comfortable.

It was fine, I didn't have any issue. He's easy going and I had a lot of teeth worked on so I'm maxing out my dental insurance and he's really good about understanding that I sometimes have to hold off on my dental work, not the things you need immediately but sometimes you have to wait and finish things off. He'll let me wait until I'm able to pay. I know probably other dentist's offices do that but he doesn't make you feel really crappy about having to do that. He sent me to another doctor for root canal.

My biggest disappointment was that the Doctor seemed to need more skills interacting with the patient. He did not seem to be empathetic or to take into consideration discomfort of the patient. The standard response was to say "I'm almost done" or "it won't be long" or "hang in there" -- rather than to see if he could make the procedure more comfortable or easier on the patient. We have NEVER had a doctor be so uncaring. He often did not give any advance notice on what was coming next and did not stop if pain was experienced -- he seemed to just want to move forward and "finish up" rather than change course to make things better, if possible. He actually made a very small cut in the side of the mouth because he was pulling too hard trying to get a good vantage point in the mouth. Even after asking to be told what was happening before he did something, he continued to just "get the job done". He used Novocaine in one side of the mouth that was not even needed. He didn't check first to see if there was work to be done on that side of the mouth. He also did not say anything such as you will feel a little stick before giving the Novocaine injection. I have NEVER had a doctor NOT give advance notice before giving a shot. He may do quality work -- we have had no problems to this point with what he did, it is more about HOW he did it. We feel that there are other doctors in this field that would give a better overall experience and not create such a stressful environment. We truly hope that he will make some changes in his "bedside manners" so that his business may improve in the future. We cannot in good faith recommend him at this time, after our experience, since there are other options out there.

    RUSSELL KISER
Dr. Kiser seems great at first. If you are the type of person that takes his opinion as truth without asking questions or considering options, then he should suit you just fine. However, if you happen to have an opinion, or request anything different than his cookie-cutter treatment for every patient, then you will be met with blatant disrespect and irritation. Find a dentist that will treat you with the respect you deserve.   I met him for an evaluation for a tooth I've been having some problems with. He informed me that I needed a root canal and we scheduled it. Meanwhile, the office staff was in contact with my insurance to ensure approval and estimate payment. I was notified by my insurance that IV sedation, which was submitted would not be covered.   I called the office and asked to speak with the doctor, because I was uncomfortable with the idea of IV sedation, since this is a procedure I've had done before without it, and I've had other medical experiences that have shown me to be unable to tolerate these medications well. The receptionist called me back, not the doctor, to inform me that "he said it was necessary". I expressed that I wished to speak with him directly, and she suggested I send him an email.  I sent an email illustrating my discomfort with the situation, and received no reply that day. The next day, Friday, I called and cancelled my appointment since, for me, the issue was unresolved. The receptionist then informed me that I would be charged $150 for breaking Monday's appointment without 48 hour's notice. I argued the absurdity of this in the given situation, but got nowhere. I hoped that by the end of the day, perhaps the doctor would call or email me back so we could resolve the issue and move on with the procedure. I did, in fact, receive an email from the lovely Dr. Kiser. At 7:30 pm that night he emailed me (this is a quote): "headaches headaches headaches - - - Sent from my iPhone". Apparently my desire for a conversation before being heavily sedated with potentially dangerous medications was causing him "headaches".   Let me also add that my insurance, which is very comprehensive, good insurance would not cover the IV sedation, because this is not a procedure that generally requires IV sedation. He has been making an extra $375 on top of whatever else the patient pays for by not just offering, but insisting upon IV sedation that you may not want, probably don't need, and could really land you in some trouble. The real problem here though, is not that he wants to use this dangerous sedation on every patient, regardless of if it's necessary, it is the utter disrespect I received for questioning him. He refused to have a conversation with me about it, as if I was not worthy of his time, and lost even a glimpse of professionalism when I questioned him. Stay away from this one.
