Caregiver Homes provides the coaching, support, and financial assistance to keep caregiving in the home. Through Ohio Shared Living services, we work to serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a family setting of choice.
Live-in caregivers are the foundation of success in our work with people with disabilities and the families and professionals who support them. Caregiver Homes works with caregivers who are family members or non-family caregivers so they can be successful in their important role. Caregivers and individuals with disabilities are supported by our care team every step of the way.
Caregivers in our program receive the following benefits:
-Convenience of caregiving at home: Caregivers have the flexibility to meet their responsibilities and receive coaching and support at home.
-A stipend: Contracts with Caregiver Homes specify the daily stipend a caregiver will receive for his or her commitment as a live-in caregiver distributed twice a month, accurately and on time.
-Support from a professional care team: Caregivers receive initial and ongoing support and coaching from a nurse and care manager through regular communication and monthly home visits.
-Administrative support: Caregivers do not have administrative responsibilities; Caregiver Homes is responsible for all billing, documenting, coaching, and providing of necessary paperwork.
-Assistance with rent and utilities: Individuals who choose Ohio Shared Living services pay room and board monthly, directly to their caregiver, through shared expenses. Many individuals also qualify for government benefits, including reduced utility payments and SNAP (food stamps), which assist both the individual and the caregiver meet their monthly expenses.
