    HZO Architect
RACIST ALERT, RACIST ALERT, DO NOT USE!! He came in a dirty suit, rubbing his nose with white powder stuff all over...he yelled at us and would not listen. Seemed like this guy just wanted to get some money for his drug use. I am appalled at how this man even continues to get any calls, his demeanor lacked that of a true architect, and even tried to scam $500 jut for a quote, what a joke...

Everyone was professional and ciurteous. I've been trying t to find a contractor for this job for a while and Clink builders did it for a reasonable price and made me feel confident that it was done well. Their was nothing for me to clean-up when it was completed.

Mr. Sniff understood the time crunch we were in and was very accomodating. He gave us a thorough report in a very timely manner and answered all of our questions. I highly recommend their services and would use them again if needed.

    Safeguard Renovations
After months of looking to hire someone to replace my garage floor - I found the perfect contractor - Dave Rogers and Safeguard Renovations! Dave came out and gave me a quote and was excellent from Day 1. Dave and his crew did a phenomenal job tearing out my old garage floor and prepping it for the new floor. Dave replaced an old support beam in my garage roof with a new LVL beam - and was able to remove the metal pole that had been in the middle of the garage for years - now I can finally open my car door with banging into the pole. Dave shored up the garage walls and poured a flawless new concrete floor. I am so happy with the results! Dave came when he said he would, did what he said he was going to do, worked consecutive days until the job was done, kept things clean and neat throughout the entire process and kept me informed each and every step of the way. Check out the before and after photos below! I would hire Dave and Safeguard Renovations again in a heartbeat. Thanks, Dave - you do beautiful work and now that I know you can do just about anything, I will definitely be contacting you soon for other projects!

James was great. He was incredibly thorough on site and in his report. Everything from the foundation to the roof and all mechanical and maintenance items in between. His background as an engineer was very helpful in determining if some of the portions of the home that had settled over the years were continuing issues or not. It was clear he had a lot of experience dealing with 100+ year old homes and was very knowledgable about not only what might be a concern now, but also things to keep an eye on in 5 or 10 years. Would absolutely recommend him to anyone thinking of purchasing an older home that wants a thorough inspection, not just the usual guy their realtor might use. He wasn't the absolute cheapest option out there, but he spent almost 4 hours on site with us going over every aspect of the home and answering any questions we had. His report was even more detailed--offering suggestions and resources for maintenance and cautions to avoid making problems worse. It's like an old home guidebook customized for our home!

It went well! Our general inspection revealed that one basement wall was cracked and bowing. Three days later, Keith was able to come out and assess the problem. Taking all of the information into account (including an engineer's report from two years prior), he was able to make recommendations to solve the problem permanently.

Joe Nyzen came to assess the situation in which our basement wall was damaged and shifting.  We had to decide if we needed to repair or rebuild it.  His incredible expertise in structural engineering helped us make the decision and realize how the house was built and why it was shifting.  He explained how to avoid future troubles.

    M S Puskus Custom Remodel
The work he did with the installation of the fans was fine and he was professional and was on time. We contacted him for the second time in the summer to repair the side of my garage which had some wood rot due to water damage. He agreed to do it and his price was reasonable. We contacted him probably in June or July and told him that it was not urgent but we would like to get the work done by fall. He eventually came in late October and got the side of the garage off. He did not complete the work and it took him weeks to get through it and gave several excuses and he would also not answer his phone. We left several messages and he did not respond to it. He did not get the work done before bad weather started to set in. He worked by himself and the work he did was good. He left all the removed wood in our backyard throughout the winter. When he put the new wood up, he painted it when it was drizzling. So he had to come back and finish the painting work in the spring. He said he would come and remove the trash which he did not and then he said he would pick up the trash and remove it before winter which he did not do it again. I made an independent contractor to come out and remove the trash. I did not pay M S Puskus for the portion that I paid to the contractor. He was not responsive and was not on time and is not dependable. The work that he did was fine, accept that he painted when it was drizzling. We will not be using his service again.

James was quick to return my call and quite flexible on scheduling. He arrived, did a survey of our issues, checked out the basement, taking pictures along the way. His experienced eye caught many things we hadn't seen. He promptly provided a detailed report with photos along with descriptions of the situation and what would be needed to resolve. Perhaps most importantly, he provided the estimated skill level of the individual required to complete the repairs.

James Wright saved us a bundle. My basement showed some evidence that water had at one time seeped through the stone foundation, and one corner was sligthly damp. Several waterproofers advised excavating the basement (killing the trees that surronding our home) and treating the foundation at a proposed cost of over ten thousand dollars. Our architect thought the problem might be water control outside the house and advised us to consult a structural engineer. James confirmed the architect's intuition. He explained that had there been a long-standing and substantial water problem in the basement, then the mortar between the stones would be washed out (which it was not). He recommended that we clean our foundation drains and improve the soil grade on one side of the house. When the plumber came to clean the drains, he found a break in one of them precisely outside the one damp spot in the basement. Once that was fixed the problem went away. This minor repair cost us only $1000 instead of $10,000, and we have peace of mind knowing that as long as we correctly manage the flow of water outside the house our basement is secure. Should I ever need advise about a major problem with the house again, I'll call Western Reserve Home Inspection first thing.
