I love this place. I bring my 2 dogs, Romo (welsh corgi) and Morty (lab mix) to the Macedonia location. I travel quite a bit for work and, rather than having an in-home dog walker come visit, I drop them off at the kennel for a visit. They get so excited whenever they realize we are heading to "camp". They make a beeline right for the door and run out and start playing. I was apprehensive about leaving them anywhere (Morty was a new puppy and Romo recently lost his housemate) but they have cameras set up so I could watch them from my phone or computer. They also don't mind if you call and check in. The rates are very reasonable and the staff is excellent with the dogs. They will provide you with a summary of the visit when they stay overnight (not sure if they do that for daycare), will throw in a free bath if they have to stay for 5 days and offer other services as reasonable prices (grooming, nail trimming, etc.). The main reason I like this place is how happy they are when they see they're at camp and how tired my dogs are when they leave. I know they also have a small dog area where dogs 20 pounds and under visit. If you're nervous about how your dog will fit in, I would recommend a trial visit in the middle of the week. Watch the cameras, see how they interact and call a million times if you need to. We all have done it :).

As this was my first puppy's first trip to a groomer, I was really anxious. The people there were wonderful and very supportive. My puppy had outgrown her travel harness; the people there helped me choose a new one, put the harness on her and even helped me secure her into my car. They were warm and responsive to both me and Deuce.

    K-9 KINGDOM
This is the most amazing people and pet friendly place I have ever experienced. Two years ago I was blessed with a little rescue dog. Since I work varied hours and my husband travels a lot, I needed to have help in her care. There was no way that I was going to leave this little girl by herself for hours at a time.
K-Nine Kingdom is like having relatives that you can depend on anytime of the day or night. I have used their day-care, extended stay, and grooming. Honestly, they feel like part of my family. My little dog gets to socialize and I do not have to worry about her at all.
Their prices are very reasonable and the people amazing.

My dog gets super frightened when she gets groomed, so I wanted to look for a low-stress place for her. When I picked her up, she wasn't trembling for the first time, and she looks really cute. Slightly uneven in her facial area, but i don't care. Will definitely go back. Loved the owner, also.

PET TAXI & PET SERVICES UNLIMITED
I contacted Pet Taxi early the week of 11/10 to schedule an appointment on 11/15 to have 2 of my long-haired cats groomed and bathed. At the time of scheduling, I was quoted a price of $80 ($40 per cat) and was given a two options to drop off/pick up my cats: a 2-hour morning slot and a 2-hour afternoon slot. The idea of the 2-hour slot is that my cats wouldn't have to be there all day and be stressed out/uncomfortable, especially around the dogs that would be there for grooming, which made perfect sense. I signed up for the afternoon slot.
Saturday arrived and we called to switch to the morning slot and Pet Taxi was able to accommodate our request. Where things went south is that my husband dropped off our cats at 10:30 AM and didn't get a call to pick them up until a little past their close time at 4 PM. So our cats sat there all day. My husband actually dropped off the cats and said the facility did not seem particularly clean and there was a strong animal odor being masked by several candles.
When we picked them up, the cost for one of the cats was $60 instead of $40, because apparently bathing is $20 extra. It was explained to us, via a phone call after we paid and took the cats home, that they typically don't bathe cats that aren't front declawed. However, I was asked if my cats were front declawed when I scheduled the appointment, and I told them no -- had they told me they could not bathe my cats, I would have never scheduled the appointment. That was the main reason we took them to a groomer. However, one of the employees inadvertently gave one of my cats a bath because they did not know they weren't supposed to bathe cats with front claws.
When we got the cats home, the cat that got the bath still had a bunch of mats on the underside of her belly that we had to cut out with scissors. Our other cat didn't even appear to have been groomed. He was still covered in mats and was not bathed. After talking with the owner, we were told that cat was difficult to groom and they did the best they could. As far as I could tell, they did absolutely no grooming for our second cat. They did not even attempt to shave or cut out any of his mats. As far as I'm concerned, it was a complete waste of money. And he had to sit there all day and endure unnecessary stress.
Pet Taxi did offer to let us bring back our cats and try to and quot;groom them togetherand quot; at no additional cost, but frankly, I was not comfortable taking my cats back to their facility. In my opinion, they do not seem very knowledgeable when it comes to cat grooming and I will not be wasting any additional time or money with this company.

    Animal Zen Home
They're small but very good. The dog comes out perfectly clean and looks amazing. They looked the dog over and noticed a hernia that we didn't see. They notice any lumps that we may not have noticed. They have a daycare too, and the dogs are always so happy. They know a lot about dogs and give great advice. They're gentle and kind.

Been going to them for many years. They are just the best people. Do a great job. Our dog is never traumatized. There are others closer to us but wouldn't go anywhere else. They do exactly what you ask them to do and they do it well.

    PetSmart
I think they do a pretty good job. It's pretty easy to get an appointment. I asked them not to do some things with my dog and they do their best to accommodate that. They're not amazing but the first place I took him to, he was terrified and it was a really bad experience for him. He seems excited to go to PetSmart every time. He was terrified of the blowdryers. They just keep him for a few hours, rather than try to blow dry him. Their pricing was reasonable.

The Barkley Pet Hotel & Day Spa
Our dogs seem to like this place. We feel that they are given good care while there. They are not at all flexible with hours. That is, they will not wait even a few minutes past closing time.

    DOG GONE HAIRY
Called and made an appointment.  Need to call well in advance as they are usually quite booked.  On the day of the appointment, they called to confirm the time and then showed up promptly and performed excellent service.
