    Our family has been very fortunate to have Dr. Lamping���s outstanding ophthalmology expertise for several years. A few years ago, our family had good luck when a friend of my wife's mother highly recommended Dr. Lamping to our family as an outstanding doctor who has very ably helped many many patients with very serious ophthalmology medical problems. It is amazing how often it happens. Any member of the family can be talking to someone. Then out of nowhere, the person says that later they will be taking a valued family member with fragile vision health for a routine ophthalmology examination with Dr. Lamping and that Dr. Lamping has provided outstanding ophthalmology healthcare for a significant period of time. Dr. Lamping is the best ophthalmologist in the business for both basic ophthalmology issues and the most serious and complex ophthalmology medical issues.

    Eyes on Chagrin
    The owner was extremely responsive to my needs. I wanted to keep expenses down because I primarily use contact lenses and eyeglasses are basically used as a backup. They have a wide variety of great frames, the staff is extremely pleasant and knowledgeable, and I got both pairs of glasses quicker than promised. I feel that the lenses are the best that I've had in years and this was my first time at Eyes on Chagrin. I will continue to use their service in the future.

    Just to be clear: This review is for part 2 of my appointment. I had my annual eye check-up with Dr.Estrovich. He was wonderful. Very professional, punctual, answered all my questions, great bedside manner. He recommended three different options for me to correct my combined acute near-sightedness with my need for reading glasses. We talked about trying monovision with contact lenses (one contact at high power and one at low). THEN he directed me to a guy named Rick. Even though he wears a white coat, I don't believe he is a doctor of any kind. They just call him Rick. This is the guy in charge of contact lens fittings. My low ratings here are connected with him and NOT with Dr. Estrovich, who was great. Rick has a terrible bedside manner. Very snippy and sarcastic. After about 5 minutes in his office, I realized that I had encountered this man before--I took my son to him for his very first contact lens fitting when he was about 13 years old. He was impatient, demeaning, and just a real jerk to my son, who was really nervous about getting his first lenses. He even at one point called him a "baby" or "babyish" or something to that effect. My son was in tears after the appointment. We ended up taking him elsewhere and worked with a wonderful, patient woman who was successful in fitting his first pair of lenses. Anyway, back to my experience. I spent about 40 minutes in the chair and at the end of the session, he tells me that he can't do anything for me and I'll have to come back because my eyes were dilated. When I asked him why he didn't just tell me that at the start of the session, he got snippy. I told him I was upset because I would have to pay for the session when nothing was accomplished (fittings are not covered by insurance). He wrote a prescription out for the same power in both eyes. I told him that Dr. Estrovich wanted me to try monovision and that prescribing the same power for both eyes is not monovision. He then snapped back, "I think I KNOW what monovision IS!" RUDE. Very, very rude and unprofessional. Here's the thing you need to know, too: I NEVER complain or write negative reviews. EVER. So trust me when I say that the experience was awful. Need an eye appointment? Go to the wonderful doctors at this office. They all seem great. But if they tell you that you need to see Rick for contact lens fitting, RUN AWAY. Go somewhere else. One last note: I DID call the office to complain about my experience and they did refund my money, so I am grateful for that.

    You have to wait sometimes with them because that's the type of service they are. But, other than that, I have found that they were helpful. If something on the frame was broken, they would try to fix it at no cost. They were not overly friendly but professional.

    She is pretty competent and casual in giving donations. She is really forthright in telling me about things or otherwise no complaints. They pick my insurance so that it can be ready when I get there. I just like their glasses and they'll help me take it out and they know what they are talking about. The only problem I have with them is that from downtown they don't validate parking so parking can be difficult.

    As soon as the woman realized I was there with VSP insurance, she told me to go elsewhere to get my glasses and did not offer to help me at all. In fact, she proceeded to tell me where the nearest VSP provider is and that I should hurry up before they closed.  Perhaps she was just trying to be helpful, but I felt as if I were being run out of the store.  I asked if it was OK for me to browse around the store and she said OK but was not interested in working with me at all. I would never go back.

    I have been going to Dr. Lander for over 20 years and would never look for another eye doctor. She is the best. Her exams are thorough, and her manner is exceptionally competent and caring. Thanks to her knowledge, she warned me that a blurriness in my vision looked like type 2 diabetes; I was at my doctor's office withing 2 hours and found out Dr. Lander's diagnosis was correct.
    The staff at her office is exceptional, as well. I highly recommend Dr. Lander and Hillcrest Family Vision to anyone needing eye care.

    I showed up on time and was accepted into the office within an acceptable duration - ten minutes or so late. The appointment went fine, and I got new glasses at the same time.
    My vision doesn't change very much, and I'm not very demanding when it comes to eye doctors. this one was fine.
