Basement Waterproofing reviews in Cleveland Heights

    Buckeye Waterproofing Inc
Worst experience ever---honestly! Homeowner beware! To start, Buckeye Waterproofing did not obtain a permit from the city as required. This one thing immediately stopped work after a day or so and significantly delayed completion. Buckeye used sub contractors when they promised, at least before a contract was signed and they had a down payment of our money, that they wouldn't. Buckeye would not pay one of the subcontractors, which in turn caused this subcontractor to request more money for the job from us and threaten to put a lien on our house. Buckeye did not deliver what was promised. Very sloppy work sealing the seam between the house and the driveway---black roofing tar was used and was hastily spattered everywhere, thick in some areas and thin in others. It is already wearing away, has holes in it and is leaking. Once this company gets you to commit with money, they think they've got you and they do whatever they want whenever they want however they want because they believe you won't go to anybody else because you are stuck with them once they have your floor/foundation jackhammered & opened up. Seriously consider this review. They even made an attempt 2x to collect final payment before work was comleted. I could go on...Truely the worst experience ever.

    Adelios Contracting Co
Adelio's is the best when it comes to waterproofing. They are professional and reasonable and they won't recommend services you don't really need (which many waterproofing companies out there will). The crew works hard and cleans up everything when done. Highly recommend.

    Adelios Contracting Co
We expected the work to be done in late June, but much to our surprise and pleasure, Adelio's was able to do the work starting on the second Monday of the month. We were amazed at how quickly the excavation around the house was completed, and how neat the crew was. They sealed the foundation with an elastometric membrane and two inch foam sheets. By Thursday morning, the bed of river gravel had been laid and the new drain tiles and access pipes were installed. The city inspection was completed later that morning, and Adelio's received the OK to begin the back fill. They filled the trenches with gravel up to 18 inches below grade where there was dirt, and to just below grade where new concrete was to be poured. By 2:00 Friday afternoon, all of the dirt had been replaced, as well as the bushes and shrubs they had to remove. Saturday morning, the concrete crew was at the house bright and early, and three and a half hours later, the complete job was finished. Except for areas of the lawn that needed to be reseeded, you couldn't even tell we had any work done. The concrete work was also amazing. The job was expensive - Adelio's was the most expensive quote we received - but based on references we found and information we received from sources at our city, we went with them. And needless to say, we are very happy with the results. Last week we had heavy rains, and there wasn't a drop of water in our basement. Jason, the job foreman, and Sergio, the president of Adelio's, were both very professional and a real pleasure to work with. The Adelio's crew were very conscientious about how they kept the job site. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

    The Basement Guys - Cleveland
We got an honest evaluation and ended up getting a recommendation for something we could do ourselves. It saved us &1000s of dollars that another company may have recommended a lot of unnecessary work.

    Mayer Plumbing & Heating
Thought I would use Mayer, but a different solution was offered from another plumbing company. After much consideration I chose to go with alternative solution, which was a matter of opening a sealed pipe. Cost for Mayer was within ballpark of estimates from other companies. For years I have been throwing money at the waterproof problem without resolution. I would have gone with Mayer, primarily for their professionalism and knowledge, but I saved myself >$6600.00 by choosing the alternative solution. Unrelated to Mayer, the alternative solution works beautifully. Beware, there are other waterproof companies that talk a good game, but take no responsibility for the outcome. I honestly believe Mayer Plumbing would take FULL responsibility and be there to offer another solution.

    The Basement Guys - Cleveland
Dan came out to our house, walked through our basement, and gave me a quote that day. He explained exactly what they were going to do, how it worked, and why he recommended it over other methods. I chose The Basement Guys over other waterproofers because they were not intimidated by our 100-year-old basement, its complicated layout, and the potential for surprises once they got to work. They were extremely professional and kept the basement clean throughout the process. The foreman actually discovered a plumbing problem beneath the floor, informed me immediately, and worked around it without issue until I could have a plumber make the repair. I would highly recommend The Basement Guys if you're looking for an honest, reasonable, and thorough contractor for your project.

Chubb Construction and Basement Waterproofing Inc
The good, the bad, and the ugly: 1) We are 100% satisfied with the waterproofing work: the crew was knowledgeable and thorough, and they saved our window wells. 2) We were misled as to the extent of damage that would be caused by the work. They said they could save most of the landscaping but the crew on day 1 said that was impossible. Lots of sandstone breakage was not anticipated - I ultimately had to pay a contractor to pull up a patio and relay it to spare it from destruction. 3) Extra costs I incurred with other contractors rectifying landscape and patio damage made this project up to 140% of Chubb's price. That said, I would hire them again, but would go into it with eyes opened and prepared for extra costs.

    Adelios Contracting Co
It went very well- We scheduled the appointment and Sergio was very prompt and courteous which I appreciate. It was immediately evident that they were more Company then I needed but Sergio was very professional and discussed possible causes of water in the basement. He offered options that I should investigate. He was correct and moving the downspout proved to be a wise decision.
