    Tru Pro Painting
We signed our contract in August 2017 to be completed by 9/23/17. It is now Nov and we are not complete. There was paint/drywall mud/dust all over my house. No drywall work was performed. The entire house needs re done. The exterior including windows/barn/deck were to be scraped/caulked/painted. The paint is perlingbin spots. The entire house needs re done. They schedule too many jobs with no time or staff.

    Lowerys Custom Clean
Very well. We discussed what I wanted on a Friday. I had the supplies delivered on a Saturday and the job was done on Sunday. They knew it was an emergency fix so I wouldn't lose any of my cattle and they did an outstanding job getting it done for me.

    Oasis Painting and Services
On March 9, 2016 we met with Cliff Browning, representing Oasis Painting and Services, regarding painting our 19th Century Victorian Home. At that time Cliff inspected the exterior of the house and calculated the size and the condition of the house. We sat down with Cliff to explain to him our expectations and had him explain his process for painting our home, step by step. He showed us pictures of another Victorian homes where they removed the paint down to the bare wood, primed and painted them. He told us he had done work for the Delaware County Historical Society. He guaranteed when the job was complete it would exceed our expectations. That his company was rated A+ at the Better Business Bureau and on Angies List. That he had an experienced crew for restorations of exteriors and that he would hire anyone that didnt know how to use a 5 in 1. Cliff told us the first step would be to power wash the house to remove any dirt and loose paint, then his experienced crew would begin preparing the house by scraping off all loose paint, caulking and sealing all cracks replacing any damaged or rotten wood. Then after the house was properly prepped Oasis would brush paint the entire house with two coats. At this time we discussed the possibility of using up to five different colors. Cliff explained to us that if we added two additional accent colors that there would be a slight up charge. We decide to go with Oasis since three other contractors had failed to contact us on bids for the project. Cliff wrote up a contract to prep and paint the entire house for $4,900 plus the cost of materials. We would be responsible for buying all paint, caulk, primer, nails and wood. We agreed to a down payment of $1,700 with the balance due at the completion of the job. Oasis power washed the house the week of March 9th. On March 15th, Cliffs brother, Bobby and a crew of two began working on the North side of the house (front). At that time we provided them Primer and a case of caulk from Sherwin Williams. When I came home, I found that they did not scrape and caulk the front, but primed it with two gallons of primer. They took the case of painters caulk with them that we had purchased. We called Cliff and we came out to inspect the work. He agreed the house should have been scraped before priming and instructed his crew to go over what they had done the next day. That they basically wasted a whole day of work, like it was our fault. Over the next few days my wife would ask the crew to remove the loose paint on the front porch, on the eaves of the house and other places that were missed. Finally, after falling on deaf ears my wife and I spent two evenings scraping off loose paint where they had missed. We called Cliff again to show him the work that we had done on the house and how they were not scraping off all the loose paint. He again agreed that he was disappointed in the work that was being performed and said he would send out some new guys. Cliffs brother continually complained to my wife that the job was under bid and that we should be charged twice what we were paying. That is when Cliff contacted my wife regarding the paint scheme and told her that the original contract for $4,900 was for three colors of paint and not the two accent colors. To include the two additional colors we would be required to pay an additional $4,000. My wife told Oasis if they were going to charge us an additional $4,000 for two accent colors that they could start packing because it was not in our budget to pay $8,900 plus all material costs. On March 21st it was agreed that we would pay an additional $1,800 for the two additional colors, plus Oasis would pay for the replacement of all damaged wood. A new contract was signed, which required us to pay them an additional $600 down. At this time I began taking photos of the house tracking the progress of the scraping, caulking and priming because when I would come home from work I didnt notice that anything was being done. I received a couple of calls from my neighbors telling me that one of the guys would drop off a few guys and then leave for hours at a time, or that they would see the guys frequently standing around smoking or talking on their cell phones and not working. They were concerned we were paying by the hour and Oasis was stringing us along. As the progress slowed on the house and the painting of the first coat of the base color had not been started I called Cliff to meet me out the house to discuss the work of his brothers crew. They were not bringing in experienced workers, but hiring some off the streets in Circleville who had no experience. On April 1, we went over the house and Cliff again agreed that he was disappointed in his brothers crew and promised me that he would send his A Team on Monday, April 4th. Some of the guys had told us that they would not be coming back because Cliff didnt have the money to pay them due to the fact the job was taking longer than first anticipated. Cliff came in the house and promised us that we would get our house painted, as promised in our contract but needed an advance of $2000 to keep his crew on the job. On April 1st, we wrote Cliff a check for $2000, which made the total paid on the project $4,300. On the following Monday Cliff sent out two guys from his crew for a total of 4 hours to rework what had already been done poorly. At that time the East side of the house had barely been touched, the two upper dormers had not been done and the West and South sides of the house were incomplete as far as prep work. The painting has not been started after one month. April 13th, unknown to us, Cliff subcontracted the work to Howard Rinehart. Howard was told the house was ready to paint, but when his crew got here he found that only about 50% of the house was ready. He found where Oasis has covered up some bad wood and contacted Cliff about replacing it. Howard told us that Cliff told them not to replace any wood and that they had four days to complete the job. Howard was told to start painted and the was not comfortable with that because it has not been prepped. After the subcontractors worked for two days they told us that they were walking off the job. Cliff had not paid them and they wouldnt get paid unless the job was completed. They explained the Cliff had lied to them about the project and the amount of work that needed to be done. That they couldnt in good conscience complete the job as Cliff instructed them to do it. It was at this time I discussed this matter with my wife and we decided that Oasis was in breached our contract by not replacing the bad wood, scraping, priming and caulking the house as stated. We found out the Cliff had hired the subcontractors off of Craigslist. After doing some checking we found that the contractor doing business out of Columbus as Superb Painting has a criminal record with some cases still pending in court and was out on bail. I called Cliff the next day and told him I was done with them, that I wanted the return of the $2000 advancement, since he only sent two guys out for one day. I explained to him that he had not fulfilled any of the promises he made to us and what was written in the contract. At that time he told me that the check for $2000 would be mailed on Friday, April 15th. As of this date, Cliff has failed to make payment, nor contact us. Now Cliff is threatening us for slander because of our negative review with the Better Business Bureau of Columbus. All of the statements we have made are true. We documented the days, hours and number of crew members that worked on our home. We started taking pictures of the work, or lack of work, done on the house when it was apparent that Oasis Painting was not living up to their contract.

    Buckeye Guys Construction
Buckeye Guys Construction did our basement from day one when the Sales Rep. came out to give us a estimate we were very impressed. He went over all the details and layout with us showing us materials that would be used. Within a couple of days we were introduced to our crew chief and the workers. They showed up on time always cleaned up after theirself and any questions we had they were more than eager to answer. The quality of work that these guys perform is absolute perfection. We would recommend this company to anyone who is looking for Home Improvement work to be done.

    NME Builders & Designers LLC
The person who was in charge of getting the job done did not give his workers an honest estimation of what the work was going to be. They couldn't complete all of it so it took them way over and he wanted to charge me more for that. Eventually they finished painting the deck. The people were nice. I felt very sorry for the workers who came out to do the job because they weren't very equipped  They were not prompt and had excuses. They left the area clean before they left. I would not recommend them.

    All Ohio Masonry Restoration Inc
This company did great work. First of all, I live in an old home with brick basement walls from the 1930s and earlier. Mortar around old or "soft" brick needs to be specially mixed or you risk cracking the bricks over time. This company has experience with work on old masonry. They gave me a cost for digging out old mortar and replacing with new mortar on most of the interior basement walls. I had estimates from two other well-known masonry restoration companies in Columbus 3-5 years ago and All-Ohio was not only least expensive, but they tackled more work than what the other companies quoted.
I'm sure having the work done in January 2015 when other outside projects for the company were on hold may have made a difference in the cost, but the level of service far exceeded expectations and their level of clean-up after 3 days of work was wonderful. In some places, the basement was cleaner after they left than before work began!
    The crew was always courteous.
I'm sure this was a small job compared to what this compnany normally does, but they never gave me that impression. I was flexible with scheduling and they were able to get to my project quickly due to winter weather causing delays on outside projects. I live about 30 miles from Columbus and I'm grateful for All-Ohio's willingness to travel outside greater Columbus for a job this size.

    Newlook Sidings Inc
I own an 60 year old home which I have lived in for 22 years.  I have had numerous remodeling and repairs completed over the years and I can say by far the best experience I have had with a contractor has been with Newlook Sidings.
Ed Beranek and his team are the type of contractors you always hope for.   They are professional, they show up everyday at the same time and work diligently until the time to leave.  They are there to answer questions but do not intrude upon your daily activities.  When the unexpected comes up they handle it automatically and before your eyes you see you are getting a quality job. Plus they went above and beyond my expectations in order to please me.
One specific example amongst many is that the metal being used for the gutters was a custom color.  When the metal arrived it was not to Ed's standards so he rejected it.  Knowing it would be an additional week without gutters he offered to put up white gutters until the custom painted metal arrived.  We did not feel that was necessary but being offered that option should felt good.
I am so proud of my home with the work that Newlook did because you can tell not only was the material superior but so was the workmanship installing it.
I also felt the pricing was very fair.  I did get several bids for the same work.
I guarantee any work that I have in the future that is within the company's purview will be contracted to Newlook Sidings.
I am so glad to have found them on Angie's list.  It was a very positive experience.

    WINDOW MAN GARY LYONS
They did a fantastic job. They had Mexican people in here and boy did they do a good job. It was a 2 story house and they did it in 2 days. They stayed 2-12 hour days. The metal took about 5 days but I didn't care. He was really particular. The owner does all the metal work. I don't have to paint anything any more. It is absolutely gorgeous. They did everything they were supposed to do and exceeded my expectations. We did it in a colonial red. The work was top notch. They did a very nice job and cleaned up everything. I wouldn't hardly ever know they were ever there. I would recommend them to anybody. They were nice top notch people. He wanted to do everything and we had estimates for up to $28,000. We are proud of our house now. The price was very good for what we got. He did very well for the price. He wasn't cheap but you get what you pay for. They were very friendly and positive. Only one of the Mexicans could speak English. They were cool and I had a very good experience.

    GH Handyman LLC
We contacted Greg through his website early one morning. He answered within the hour. Good timing on all our parts! Through email we made arrangements for him to come for an estimate on the windows. We had just had a small addition put on and that contractor was not a good experience. We wanted someone different to install new windows. After meeting Greg and talking to him about the windows and siding possibilities we asked for  two quotes, one for the windows and one for both windows and vinyl siding. He gave us two different quotes promptly and without complaint. We have approached people before asking for two different quotes and ,apparently, some businesses don't like smaller jobs because this was one of the first times we've received such a quote.  We had already picked out windows on Lowes' website and wanted to buy them. Greg made a trip to Lowes and checked to see if these windows could be ordered as he needed them to be, etc. He contacted us and told us which type window to order and how long it would take to get them from Lowes. When we went into Chillicothe Lowes to place the order, we happened to get the young man who had talked to Greg and he knew exactly what we wanted. Easy! The siding color we wanted had to be special ordered. So knowing when all would be available, Greg scheduled the job.
Greg and his crew started the job and worked everyday, all day, weather permitting until the job was finished. They removed the old aluminum siding, wrapped the house, put in the windows where we wanted them, and put on new vinyl siding. The completed job was within the number of days he estimated it would be. Communication was excellent. He showed up when he said he would. If Greg had to leave the premises for the day he would tell us and let us know what his workers were doing.  Everything was left neat and clean when work was finished for the day. Greg even took care of some of  the problems left from the previous contractor. We greatly appreciated this.
The windows look great both outside and inside. Greg did the trim work inside and it is outstanding! No messes and no extra work for us to do. The vinyl siding looks great! The house looks brand new!
Greg told me the job would be stress free and he was good to his word! Greg is upfront about the work, giving you choices to solve any problems found along the way. It was a pleasure to do business with him.
