Great. Encouraging, available, competent.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
I signed up for a 4-week Adventure Boot Camp session last August. The camp includes a pre- and post-evaluation (weight/body fat, blood pressure, measurements). After one session, I was hooked. I am now a year-round participant in boot camp. I appreciate Brian Calkins and the other trainers/staff at Healthstyle Fitness for their creative, enthusiastic and effective training programs. I'm in better shape now in my later 30s than at other times in my life, and most importantly, I remain motivated to continue working out and improving my health and well being. Highly recommended.

Brian's bootcamp (Oakley location) gave me an excellent workout. I found it easy to follow the instructor's directions from the first day onward. I quickly became addicted (and I'm not someone who normally had a good exercise routine). DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The bootcamp exercise sessions are a one hour daily workout in a group setting (outside most of the year, inside during the colder winter months). They start at 5:30 AM so you can get your workout in before other commitments. You bring your own mat and hand weights. The workouts are primarily strength-building but also have cardio mixed in as well. They structure the workouts so that they work well for all fitness levels (more advanced participants use heavier weights or add in more challenging moves).

Boot camp was very fun and rewarding. Brian creates a different workout daily so there was never boredom. The exercises were hard and I was sore for the first week of camp, but I also had a sense of pride that I'd accomplished something harder than I thought possible. When I started I was nervous to start boot camp. And before it started I learned a lot about good eating habits to reach my goals, and became very comfortable with the company. During boot camp the instructor was very personable, professional, knowledgeable and helpful. After 4 weeks I lost 8 pounds and just felt very good mentally and physically. I had more energy than I did as a teenager.
