    Biltmore Exteriors
On May 31st, 2018, we contracted with Biltmore Exteriors to replace our garage roof, replace old picture windows with new windows and a sliding door on one side of our house, and to replace our aluminum siding with vinyl siding and new gutters. Once started, this became a five-week long ordeal plagued by miscommunications, sloppy and incomplete work, and an abusive business owner. At completion of the work, we were so exhausted and traumatized that we just wanted anyone from Biltmore off of our property and not have to argue about outstanding issues for fear of retribution. If you dont want to deal with repeated work, patronizing attitudes, sloppy attention to details and late-night phone calls where the owner is cursing you out for being difficult, we suggest you avoid Biltmore Exteriors. Bidwell Home Improvement
The process from start to finish was great. Mike walked me through the whole process and quoted me an excellent price. His employees came out and showed up on time and completed the work in a very timely manner. I was beyond happy with Bidwell and the work they did on my house. I'd recommend them to anyone.

    Caves Road Construction
Bob came highly recommended and did not disappoint. He was prompt, the quality of his work was great and he charged me less than his original estimate when he discovered there was less work than he anticipated. Looks like new.

    Johnson Home Improvement Services
He was responsive, courteous, and professional. Lots of people are scared of working on older homes but this was not an issue for him. He had a solution for both doors and waterproofing our garage. He worked quickly and didn't require supervision. We would not hesitate to call him again for small work or even medium/large projects in the future.

    Northeast Ohio Renovations
Fire resulted in the damage of the siding on two sides of our house. The trick was going to be finding the exact, or closely matching, siding to the sides that were not going to be replaced.
Bob spent a great deal of time, first, trying to match the remaining siding with sample swatches, and when that wasn't successful, he did a significant amount of work to find exactly what siding was on the house and hunting out where it could be found.  Luckily, we were able to match the roughly 9 year old siding exactly at a local supplier.
Bob made contact about a week before the siding was to be delivered giving a heads up and asking where I'd like the boxes placed.  I gave him my preferred location and the delivery personnel followed my wishes exactly.
A few days later, Bob called again saying they'd be out to start the job the next day. Good communication as the job approached.
On job day, the siding contractors arrived  around 9:00 a.m. and went right to work. There were approximately 5 men who worked continuously throughout the day.  Mid afternoon I asked about progress and was surprised to hear they expected to be completely finished within a few hours.  Bob had initially thought the job would take 1 1/2 to 2 days to complete, so I was happy to hear it was going to be finished in one day. Cleanup was perfect, all old siding and scraps from the job were removed and the surroundings looked as they did before the job.
The siding work itself was great.  Detail work was perfect and the new siding matches the old exactly. Couldn't be happier with the job that was done, and wouldn't hesitate contacting Bob again for future house matters.

    The Home Corporation
Herb (owner) came personally to first look at the job.  Very nice, explained process.  Soon thereafter a guy came to measure.  Lastly, 2 man crew came to install.  Extremely professional, laid down protective covers over carpets etc.  The installers REALLY took their time and spent almost whole day doing finishing/touch up portion of the job like the caulking, flashing, aluminum.  Very nice people, windows look great.  Will likely be using again for roof and siding in next few years.

    A & B Roofing
A&B Roofing was very professional throughout the entire process and was a pleasure to work with. My wife and I got around a dozen quotes to do our roof and siding and A&B not only had the best price, but also has the experience, knowledge, customer service, and quality to go along with it. We ran into a few issues during the siding and soffit installation which A&B took care of at a very reasonable cost. These guys are trustworthy and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking at a similar project.

Ohio Home Improvement Outlet Inc DBA Mentor Window
Matt and the team at Mentor Windows are fantastic.   From the initial meeting, which was informative and efficient (no drawn out sales pitch or nonsense) to the final installation of both windows and siding, this was a very positive experience.  After doing significant remodeling in our home, we've discovered that finding reliable and professional contractors/vendors is not easy.  Our job was sizable and not without it's unique challenges.  The teams who did both the window replacement and siding installation where courteous, on time and professionally handled any glitches that arose.  Matt was on top of details, communicated regularly and promptly while always following through with all aspects of the job.  Pricing was competitive and we are extremely happy with the final outcome. The work done by Mentor Windows transformed our home and no doubt increased it's value.

    The House Doctors

    The jobs went very well.

They replaced 4 window sills and a 3 sided bay window sill that had rotted.  They also took out the bottom six or more inches of the boards going up the side of the window sill.  The first day they only did the bottom of the sills and when I took pictures and asked why the sides where not replaced as discussed during the initial walk through they just hadn't gotten to that part of job.  It was nice that they didn't try to back track from the walk through explanation of what was included in the quote or that they didn't get defensive with my questions.   Just gave a quick explanation and we all moved forward.  The sills were all caulked into placed I am very happy with the finished product.

The rotted/broken wood siding they replaced looks great as well.  Very happy.

The floor joist in the basement is also very secure now.  during the walkthrough it was explained that they would try to sister a board from beam to beam.  Due to the all the extra clutter in the basement (it is 145 year old house) there was no way to effectively secure the new sister to the beam without removing wiring/other boards/ductwork/plumbing.  They put a 6 foot board on each side of the broken joist and secured to one beam and the joist.  The repair looks very secure and I am happy with the work.  Once again, I called with questions because at fist the end result did not look like what I was expecting and got a quick response and reasoning.  No complaints and I am happy.

So overall a very good experience and I would use them again.  The "B" for responsiveness is because sometimes they can be a little slow to respond to phone calls at the beginning.  But they are a busy company and produce at a high level, so I feel like a made a good decision to stay with them and this review should help with new customers who might get a little impatient to know the wait can be worth it.  At the end Mike was very responsive, so I think it was probably more of a seasonal issue than anything else and like I said, I would definitely use them again.

    Powell Remodeling

We chose Powell Remodeling because of the extremely positive experience we had on two previous home projects. We told Russell Powell, the owner, that we chose him over another bidder (even though his price was higher) because of this, his attention to detail, and our trust in him.

On this particular job, however, everything that could go wrong did. But Russell and team once again proved they can rise above it all and deliver.

Amended 2/2016: We called Powell Remodeling in October, 2015, regarding a problem with the roof repair work they had performed. The roof leaked and mushrooms were growing out of the porch trim in the area due to the exposure to continuous moisture. We believed the work to be under warranty.

Powell Remodeling responded via email saying they had a signed-off documented dated July 2014, and therefore the work was no longer under warranty. In addition, the email stated, "Any and all future consultation correspondence regarding any matter will be billed." Not only were we shocked at this response, but we believe the document referred to was for re-caulking work performed in July 2014. We noted specifically on the document that we were signing off only on the caulking job, not the entire project. Work continued on the house beyond July 2014. We requested (twice) for Powell Remodeling to fax us a copy of this document, but we received no response. We ended up paying for the repair ourselves. We are truly, truly disappointed in how this was handled.
