We lost our beloved 13-year-old schnauzer because we took her to All About Dogs. She was bitten in the morning during day care. They did not call us so we could get her immediate vet attention and did not mention it when my husband picked her up after work that evening. He asked what had happened to her head (four puncture wounds). They then had to watch video to find out (a beagle became annoyed by her barking and bit her). The bite became infected; she quit eating and drinking; her kidneys shut down and she DIED. AAD manager and owner were condescending to us, took no accountability for what happened and hid behind their disclaimer. We lost our precious dog; have $4,000 in emergency vet/hospitalization bills; and have never received anything close to an apology. Beware - the dogs in their care are not well supervised and if anything happens, you're on your own. The mark of a good business is how they respond to an adverse situation. This business flunks, big time.

I searched for weeks on the Barkley's website where to write a review but could not find one so I will use this forum to let you know how wonderful the entire staff was when Dolce got sick on April 6. When the Barkley says that it watches our pets as if they were their own, it definitely means it! I dropped off Dolce for camp that morning as I always do and then hurried to work to be able to keep on eye on her with your cameras - more to make sure she ran all day than anything else. I could not find her and sure enough there was an email from Suzanne informing me that Dolce was not feeling well and had been taken to a suite to rest and relax (for some reason my cell phone was not on file but is now). I immediately called Suzanne who explained the situation to me - Dolce was lethargic, trying to throw up and just not her usual rambunctious, playful self. You really do know my baby. I was very concerned about bloat with the unproductive vomiting having gone through it with my previous Doberman. Suzanne, understanding my concern, assured me that she would tend to her until I could get there to pick her up and and get her to her vet. When I said I was on my way to get Dolce, Suzanne assured me that she would check on her until I got there. Not only did Suzanne check on Dolce multiple times, she monitored her heart rate and breathing so that when I got there I had a full report to take to Dolce's vet. Thank g-d nothing was seriously wrong other than some gastro issues and a case of kennel cough (which is interesting since she had just had her Bordetella booster the week before but as the vet explained like influenza in people there are so many strains of kennel cough it is nearly impossible to vaccinate against all of them). After a little rest and some anti-biotics, Dolce returned to her ever exuberant, over abundance of energy. I cannot thank Suzanne and the entire Barkley staff enough for always looking after Dolce as one of their own. To many people it may just be a dog, to me, Dolce is my life. Most fondly, Ellen

I have always been very satisfied with the care that has been provided at The Barkley. The day camp setting is super fun, and the dogs absolutely love it there. Always come home tired and ready to sleep. The boarding is exceptional as well, many different accommodations and activities to choose from, which can satisfy any type of customer. The staff and management care about the animals like their own pets, plus they are staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week! Would absolutely recommend.

They know the cat, they take care of it. All of our cats have gone there. We have health pets so they must be doing their job. She is very good with them. Miss Kitty doesn't like going to the vet none of them do. But she is happy to be home. Very professional. We would continue to use them as long as we live in the area.

The docs and staff provided excellent care. My dog had some chronic illnesses, which required A LOT of phone consultation with the vets, and several office visits. I always got a call back from Dr. Rutman the same day, and he spent a lot of time with me on the phone providing advice at no charge. In addition, I took my dog there to be groomed because she had some mobility issues and I trusted the groomer to use the proper procedures to lift the dog. The vets are thorough, and the entire staff is very knowledgeable. I would not have taken my dog anywhere else.

When I returned their water dish was placed under a perch and full of droppings.  The food the birds were to get daily was 1/2 gone -- it should have been depleted.  A neighbor who was stopping in at night to cover the birds said my floor was covered with mud from the caretaker walking in and not taking his shoes off -- this was cleaned up by the time I returned home.  The birds were frightened and did not return to normal behavior for about 2 weeks.  When I called the caregiver (Kaitlin was on vacation too) he would tell me how he was working with the birds -- at no time did I ask anyone to work with the birds.  The job was simple to clean the cage, feed and provide fresh water.

My mom moved into a new place, and her dog did not like the landscaping around her apartment (dirt and bushes).  The dog was used to having a lawn with grass.  My mom, who was 86, was desperate to find a solution because she was not able to walk the dog, and the dog had a few accidents in the apartment.  We called Reliable at 7:30 pm one evening, and Shaun answered and said he could be there at 7:30 a.m. the next day.    He showed up exactly when he said he would, and one of the team walked the dog for 15 minutes 3 times a day (at a cost of $30 per day) for several months.  During this time, my mother's health was failing, and The Reliable team is bonded and insured, and I felt very comfortable with them coming inside the apartment to find the dog and take her out for a walk.  There came a time when we also needed them to feed the dog, and all I had to do was call Shaun, and it was done.  The team showed up on time everyday, no matter what the weather, and were always pleasant.  My mom's dog loved being with them.  One of the unexpected benefits is that it was reassuring to us to have someone stopping by the apartment on a regular basis throughout the day, and I think my mom liked having the visits as well.  We are indebted to them.

With regard to price, I don’t think that they are any more expensive than any other vet. I love them. I love the people there. The only negative I can say about them is that they don’t have 24/7 availability. I don’t know how many vets do. There is a specialty/emergency vet that I can always go to if I have to. Aside from that, I like them better. He is very knowledgeable. He takes a lot of time to explain things to me. I don’t feel like he is encouraging me to get procedures done just for the money. He is very realistic. I have a dog that is 14 years old. She has got a few problems, which he said is because of her age. He is really straight with me and honest. I trust him.

The dogs seem to like it there. We are comfortable leaving them there. We chose them as a boarding place, because they are breeders and we did get our dog there. Our dog knows them and our dog's relatives are there. They know our dogs. Sometimes I just drop them off for a few hours, and sometimes they spend the night there. The price depends on what we are doing. They are on line with other places. I do feel that their costs are reasonable. I know they are comparable. With regard to quality, because I'm not there when my dogs are there I can't really know that. They allow me to be very flexible which is a big plus for me. I can take the dogs there on a very short notice.

I am very happy with my veterinarian. They handle everything like stitches and all kinds of stuff. They do dogs and cats. If I have an emergency they are happy to get me in and Dr. Clemens is very experienced. He has had the business for a long time. They have a boarding kennel with it too so if you just want to board your animal you can do that too. We have done grooming sometimes. In terms of price, I didn't really shop around but I think its ok.
