AThe Home DetectiveLet me start by saying John and Josh are fantastic! I have used them twice over the past 2 months and am so glad I did. They were able to point out and find issues with the first house, which I ultimately passed on, that saved me $20,000 within 2 years of buying the house. Without their high energy, meticulous professionalism, I would have regretted purchasing the first house. They work in tandem, so you basically get 2 inspectors for the price of one. One will look over a part of the house, take pictures, and then the other follows picking up even more details. The best part for me was the way they went about explaining everything they saw. Not only would they point out a feature but they would talk about the details of the feature, explaining its function, why its there, and what it serves. They do this for everything whether its correct or not. They are not stuffy or snooty, but make you feel comfortable and at ease like you are having your father or grandfather teach you about your house. If you are looking for a home inspector that will come in with no personality, dryly point out what is wrong with no explanation, not interact with you making you feel like a fish out if water, these guys are not it! I left both inspections confident that everything that could be found was found and correctly documented. Many times they would go above and beyond and point out things or inform me of things they were not required to tell me, but things they they would not feel right about not pointing out. I am so thankful for The Home Detectives, Josh and John went above and beyond. For one of the inspections my father was present, who has bought and sold over 10 houses in his life, and he stated they were the best home inspectors he has ever seen. APaul was amazing to work with regarding the home inspection we needed for a 4500 sq. ft, 100-year-old house that my wife and I were looking to purchase. Paul arrived at the home about 90 minutes before our scheduled appointment to begin his exterior inspection. When we arrived for our appointment, he walked us around the exterior and pointed out concerns he had seen. We then accompanied Paul (and his assistant) throughout the interior as Paul inspected and explained everything he was seeing. As he described it, most homes have "peaks and valleys," and that was true of this home inspection--many things he found were fine, but there were some areas of concern. We never felt that Paul was rushing through the inspection at all. In fact, the opposite. He was very comprehensive. After the inspection, he gave us a verbal summary of his major concerns and we had plenty of time to ask questions. That same evening, Paul emailed a full PDF report that was 45-pages long, complete with color photos. The report contained no surprises, since he had explained everything to us during the inspection. One day later, Paul called to ask if we had any questions about the report or anything else we wanted to talk about with him. That is excellent follow-up! Cost was $460 for inspection (based on the sq. ft. of the home) + $175 for radon testing. I would 100% recommend Paul.

AWe recently used King Home Inspection for the purchase of our new home. We were buying an older home so the home inspection was a critical step in the buying process. B.K. was the only inspector in our our area that had only 5 star reviews during our initial research. We found B.K. very easy to work with. He has great communication skills and a strong customer service orientation. We contracted him to do both a home inspection and radon test. He was extremely thorough in his approach. He tested every single outlet and did not take any shortcuts in his process. He systematically went through the four attic spaces in the property and spent significant time outdoors on a freezing cold day. I had concerns about a deck issue and was pleased by his expertise in this area. I have high standards for the contractors I engage with. He definitely lived up the the strong reviews.
