Eye Care reviews in Chagrin Falls

    Greenberg, Dr. Michael H.
Staff is very pleasant and helpful.  Dr. Greenberg discussed the spot on my retina that I knew about from a prior exam.  We did the additional checks needed and he was able to give me a instant review of the results.  No issues with getting my glasses prescription identified and filled there in his office.  Prices seemed comparable and staff didn't pressure me to get new frames on one set.  They were perfectly willing to replace the lens in current frames.
No issues on pickup and they didn't give me a hard time when I asked for a copy of my records.

He looked at his computer screen the whole time we were there. He insisted on treatment that we neither wanted nor needed. He used outdated methods and equipment. We paid another optometrist to do the same thing all over again because his advice was so wrong.

This appt. was for my mom. She has Dry Eye Syndrome. The staff and doctors are great. However she still battles the dry eyes to this day, not their fault but they can't tell her the reason for dry eyes which makes it impossible to treat. They couldn't get the prescription correct for her glasses, spent quite a bit of money to no avail.

Overall, my exams were thorough and the support staff was very helpful and professional. I felt pressured to have pictures taken of the back of my eye, a procedure that is not covered by my insurance. I had to repeatedly decline this procedure. My son had his first eye exam here when he was around 8 years old. Needless to say he was scared of the equipment and was terrified of eye drops. The staff was helpful and supportive but the doctor was not at all accommodating. I'm embarrassed to say that I held my tongue while the doctor badgered my son. I told myself that the doctor must have had a bad day. The following year, I phoned ahead to let the office know that my son had been thoroughly traumatized by his initial experience. I asked that they explain what the equipment was and that they tell my son what was going to happen at each point of the exam. Again, the staff bent over backwards to help my son but the doctor had no patience at all. My son balked at what I call the "puff test." It's the one where you press your forehead into a harness type thing and stare straight ahead while the doctor brings an instrument very close to your eye and then releases a puff of air. My son was terrified that the instrument was going to poke him in the eye. I suggested that the doctor demonstrate how the device worked so that my son could see that he was not going to be hurt, but the doctor ignored my request. Instead, he admonished my son to "stop being a baby" and then tried to physically hold my son's head in place. At that point I removed my son from the examination chair and left the office. Since that time we have seen more accommodating eye doctors, one of whom suggested my son watch me have my exam. That seemed to do the trick, and my son now completes his eye exams without any fuss. So in summary, I found Dr. Greenburg's office to be fine for adults but awful for children.

He is very personable and very professional. He has taken very good care of my eyes over the years. I was having some eye difficulty about 6-7 years ago and he told me to go see my doctor since he felt that I was diabetic, which turned out to be true. He has always given me good service. The girls in his office are all very personable and helpful.

He constantly attends workshops and seminars to stay up to date on his education. He stays very current on techniques and hardware used, such as contacts and equipment. The office staff are very nice and competent. He is great at answering questions. One time my husband had to call the emergency number because he scratched his eye; Dr. Greenberg came in to treat him... on a Sunday!
