  • I had to have them come out twice. They snaked it the first time, and then it backed up again, so they had to come snake it again. Well, after two times, it was effective. They just didn't get the job done the first time. The worker I came in contact with seemed to be ok. One person came to complete the service. It took an hour to complete the service.

  • We contacted Underground Connections after reading great reviews on Angie's list do to water backing up when our washer drains.  They came and cleaned the drains from the house to the street but it did not solve the issue.  The workers said they didn't have the equipment to look or clean drains inside the home.  They came back out and tried to snake the drains but couldn't.  They then sent the owner, Tom out to look at issue.  Tom stated that he believed the issue was a clog in the vent pipe on the roof. He stated he would come out last weekend to take the camera down the roof to diagnose the problem.  We have not heard from the since, he did not show up to our knowledge and I have left at least 8 messages on there phone pleading for them to return my call to see if they are going to complete what they said they would do, or if we need to start looking for another contractor.  We cannot get them to return any of our calls and we are still unable to use our washer.  I was OK with the initial work they completed, however I am VERY disappointed with their customer service and the fact that they have left us hanging!  If they don't want to complete the job, that is our loss (since we already paid them) but they could at least have the decency to return the 8 or 9 messages I have left them!!

  • I was very impressed by how professional the crew was.  Excellent job.  The really care about doing things right!  Great clean up.  Can't say enough good things about the job and the people!

  • I happened to be home when a crew of 4 or 5 guys came to start the job.  Let me tell you I was impressed with the way this crew worked.  They were professional, worked very hard, and did a great job.  The drainage issue has been remedied, and the walkway looks great, and also allows me to use my laundry room as sort of a mud room.  My only beef was with the pavers that went on the sidewalk.  They were set about 1/2" higher than the sidewalk.  Dave explained that it was for "settling".  I'm okay with that, but the sidewalk has a gentle slope to drain away from the house and deck, and the pavers were set level (I checked them myself with a level).  I would think that common sense would say to slope the pavers the same as the sidewalk (and set up 1/2").  I guess I can live with the way they were installed, especially now that there is a fence gate installed right at the pad.  But I was told Dave my concern about the slope, he completely ignored me.

All in all, the work was done extremely well, but ignoring a good customer's question does not sit well with me.  BHW is does not do work for cheap, so answering a valid question/concern should not be above them.  I am having a difficult time giving them a "B" for this job, but I feel like I have to say something.  It should be an A- if anything.

  • It went fantastic. What basically happened was my sewer line was busted. They found out that the damage was caused by the city putting in a gas line. They did the repair and contacted the city. It ended up being no cost to me since it was the fault of the city. Roto-Rooter went way above and beyond what they had to do.

  • The sales rep did a good job letting us know what needed to be done, and what they could do for us, and at what price. He gave us several options, and did not try to "upsell" us. Their quote was about 1/4 of the other company that came in to give us an estimate. We were somewhat disappointed that the salesman led us to believe that they could perform the work within a few weeks of their estimate, but when we called to schedule, it was several months before they could fit us in. They did show up on the scheduled date, and the workers and their supervisor Jermain were excellent. They were very careful about keeping the house clean, and cleaned up after themselves each day. They initially thought the job would be just two days, but there were some employee illnesses which delayed things by two days. Jermain also realized, after initial excavation, that the outside work originally planned to correct a basement dampness issue was not really what was needed, and he corrected the problem by fixing a downspout drain for the same price as originally quoted. All in all, we would not hesitate to recommend this same crew to our friends. We were also somewhat surprised that the sales rep does not follow up with the client after the job was finished, and only contacts the client if there is a problem. I would think that they would want to personally inspect the job to be able to verify that the job was done according to his specs.

  • I have never seen such hard workers. Nonstop. They came to my house 1 month earlier than expected, at 10:00 AM after finishing a job in N. Royalton. They were still working at 8:00 PM when I was in bed wheel barreling stone. When they left, displaced soil was neatly spread out and seeded. Other soil was spread between my perennials. WOW!!! The cost ran higher because where my house sit is where a barn sat years before my house was built. They had to rent a cement cutter to cut what was the floor of the barn. I never knew it was ever there. That first night when I was in bed, I heard concrete pieces beefing loaded into wheel barrels and manually hauled to the front of the house. I felt so bad. Likewise they had to manually haul the stone to the back yard. The original estimate was $2000. When he came to the job we expanded the area of the trench, plus had to remove the concrete. I expected it to at least be $1000 more. It was. No surprises.

  • Chris was very prompt getting to our house to un-clog the sanitary sewer that had backed up into our finished basement. He used his TV equipment to identify the problem with the sewer line being "bowed" just outside of our basement into the front year. Not only was the line bowed, it was originally installed with additional twists and turns to match up the city sewer line and the builder's line. Chris contracted and performed all of the work including the digging of the outside trench and the cutting of the inside cement floor. Chris and his crew worked as a team and were extremely courteous to my family.
HIs original cost estimate was hit and his work was very professional.

  • I have used Rich on a few other projects around the house including replacing my roof and waterproofing the basement.  Rich is very knowledgeable , honest, hard working and has reasonable prices.  He shows up when he says he will and cleans up at the end of every day.  I highly recommend him and will use him again for other projects I have planned.

  • We noticed that our sump pump was running continuously, then discovered that water was not draining, but backing up not only into the sump crock, but was also flooding the north side of our yard.

I phoned and left a message with the company that installed the drain.  He came out and inspected the situation, and gave me an estimate.  He also cut off the offending pipe at the house, and installed a scrap of pipe as a stop gap measure.

I had also left messages with two other companies, and All County responded first.

They were very professional.  They filled the sump crock, then ran the sump to see where the problem was.  They cut and replaced the offending length of pipe, and reattached the drainage pipe to the house.  The work took about an hour, and they gave me an estimate on some future work I want to have done.  All in all, I felt the work was excellent and the price was reasonable.
