Drywall Repair reviews in Canal Winchester

  • Let me start by saying I have never had so much trouble finding a company to do a job. I called eight, EIGHT, companies before I found Rising Height Unlimited. Either no one called me back, our job was "too small", or they wanted to charge us an outrageous amount. I called Rising Height and they were very professional on the phone. The lady told me it would be a few weeks before someone could come out and give us a quote, so to get an estimate I could text Mike with a picture and explanation of what we wanted done. I did that, and got a very fair estimate from Mike. We made arrangements for them to do the job for us. My only complaint (if you could call it that) was that they were to arrive between 8-9 am on the day of the job. They were late, and because of my previous experience trying to get someone to do the work, I may have panicked. It turned out they were completing a job for another customer and were running a bit late. I was completely okay once I realized they were running behind and didn't stand me up. (: They got to our house at 10:30am the first day. They did the job in three days and did excellent work. We have a knockdown ceiling and since we were repairing only the kitchen part of the ceiling, it was going to take some work to match the texture. Mike's guys did a great job. I am very happy with all the work they did, the time it took to do it, and the quality of the job done. I would definitely hire them again.

  • First of all, Nutter Handyman does NOT give free estimates, contradictory to what it states in Angie's List. So beware. They charged us $90 to come out and give us an estimate on the work we wanted done, but said it would be reimbursed if we decided to use them. Initially, I was impressed with Nutter. They were courteous on the phone and they notified me of the car the worker would be driving, and what he would be wearing. I thought that was great from a safety standpoint. My husband was home for the estimate. He said the gentleman who came out seemed very knowledgeable, and was nice, punctual, etc. My husband explained to him that we needed an itemized quote so that we could return it to our insurance company to be reimbursed for the work. Our insurance company required this information from us, since they had already paid us a predetermined amount, but because we couldn't get the work done for the amount we were given, they said an itemized quote would allow us to be reimbursed for the difference. The gentleman said he would do this for us. After looking at what we needed done, he said it would not be possible to do the work for $1800 (what our insurance paid), but that we would be under $5000. That sounded reasonable to us, and since he said he would itemize the quote we weren't worried about it. They came on a Thursday. We waited over the weekend to hear back from them with the quote, and didn't hear anything back. We called mid-week the next week, to check the progress of the quote, and were told that the guy would email us when it was finished. We called again the following Monday, and they said we would receive the quote within the next day or two. In all, it took about a week and a half to get the quote back. When we got the quote, it was not itemized. What's worse, was they wanted $11,000 to do what the guy told us could be done for under $5000 (we needed the master bath retiled, a toilet put in, a few sheets of drywall installed in the kitchen, and cabinets rehung). They're quotes are not easy to read either, and there was no total on the page. Rather, there was a total for each section of the quote, and they had our bathroom listed on there twice. I emailed them and asked them if they could please itemize the quote, and the woman who responded, said she checked with the owner and the man who came out for the estimate and they do not itemize quotes. I told them thanks and that we would be going with someone else. I had been excited at the prospect of having found someone we could trust to do the work, only to be disappointed and angry when they didn't do what they said they would do. Lowes is doing our bathroom, and charged us the same amount for TWO bathrooms that Nutter wanted for one. I anticipate being able to get our kitchen done for another $2000 at most.

  • The finished product looks excellent! The crew was on time and very courteous. They were very willing to work around us and the other improvements we were having completed during the painting process (new appliances). It did take one day longer and more paint than the original estimate but that was a small inconvenience to achieve the great end result.

  • Estimate scheduled for 3/8/2014.  No phone call , no show. Managed to get ahold of him and rescheduled for Wed morning for an estimate.
Did show up for second appointment, seemed knowledgeable and friendly. May use in the future.

  • Danny and his crew were responsive, punctual, and efficient. They were up front about the cost and what would be done. Except a few calls that I had to him, the rest was done electronically (email), which was very convenient. On the second (last) day of the job, he came over to check the quality of the work and made sure that I was happy with it. Overall a great experience. Highly recommended!

  • Found them from an Amazon deal. That was a complete disaster - although it seems like it was more Amazon's fault than Kristin. They really wanted to make it right with me, and so even though I had already gotten a refund from Amazon, I contracted with them to do the work. The job was done properly and we are happy with the results.

  • Phillips Renovation did an exceptional job renovating our half-bath. They answered all of my questions and kept me informed of the schedule and any changes. The job was completed promptly and they did beautiful work.

  • It turned out very good. It was an A. He was very nice and fun to talk to. He's very personable. The work was good too. I didn't ask him to hang the drywall and he did it anyway. The price seemed reasonable to me. He was here for about 6 hours I think. The door work was all leveled and plumped. He came back to me within like a couple of hours. He's a really nice guy. He's very well traveled around the world I guess. You'll feel comfortable with him the minute he walks in the door. With him, it wasn't awkward at all. It was like having your uncle come and do some work.

  • I wish you could see how easy these guys are to work with, and the integrity they have as they deal with their patrons. I honestly don't have one word of complaint! I felt comfortable having them in my home, felt they were up front with me every step of they way,  was kept updated regularly, and when I chose a cheesy looking toilet, there were no problems with returning it and ordering a new one in a better color with no repercussions. The workmanship is superb, the job was done with an eye towards the future, and my personality and choices were listened to and heeded.
Although It took a bit longer than promised, that is because Scott and Mike didn't like the way the shower handle was attached: they feared it wouldn't last. So they had the installers come out and do it better, drilling a hole instead of the pressure handle. I might have been none the wiser, but this company takes care of it's patrons!

  • We purchased the $133 special for drywall for 3 hours.  We called and scheduled for about two weeks out.  The day of the individual did not show up and we called to find out that he was sick and not able to take care of it.  We rescheduled for another two weeks out and the person apperaed on time and completed the work.  I understand things happen, but would have like to get the call as opposed to having to make the call,  Otherwise, the work was done adequately.
