    I called Marty again. He came out within an hour, dismantled the dryer, and determined that the motor was failing. He immediately called his supplier, picked up a new dryer motor, and replaced it on the very same day. I'm grateful because I had a load of just-washed clothes, waiting to dry. He took the time to help us, even though that made a very long day for him. He was polite and professional.

    Marty's Appliance Services & Sales
    Marty was at our house within 2 hours. He took the dryer apart, diagnosed the problem, and replaced the parts. He completely disassembled the dryer and cleaned it thoroughly. It works great, and he cleaned up after himself. I don't know how his price compared to other repair businesses, but we are very satisfied with his work. We would definitely call him again.

    Company was fast to respond and on time. Ray the technician was very professional and quick to diagnose my problem. However the company's communication is the main problem. I was given a rough estimate at the time of the appointment of around $185-230 with parts and labor. Was told Ray would have to go back to the shop to verify price. I called the next day and was told it would cost $225. When I asked for the breakdown of cost I was told part was $120 however technicians make their money off parts so they up-charge and that the labor would be $95. I then ask if I find the part cheaper would it still be $95 to install and Mary who answers phones tells me yes. I find the part for way cheaper and then I'm told No No No labor is now $95 plus the original $45 service fee because I'm not buying parts and labor from them, only labor. Which means the fee is no longer waved. Which I was never told. So needless to say they aren't doing the work and I paid their service charge since that was the only thing they did correct.

    It was easy and they were very nice. However they forgot to plug my freezer back in and I never went in the basement to check. Two days later I saw water under the freezer and saw the plug just hanging there. I called and told the company what happened and they made it right. I'm satisfied with how they responded and very happy my toilet is flushing like it should.

    They could have qualified people. People are unqualified. They don't know the job, they don't know the equipment they bring in or the appliances they bring. They used to have people that knew how a stove or a refrigerator worked and everything else about it.

    I called Jand J to see if they could fix my ice maker. 2 of the back prongs were broken off and it wasn't making ice like it should. Within an hour Buck was here to hook me up! He checked everything, he chipped off the built up ice, he replaced the ice maker, and cleaned under my refridgerator. He even gave me a tip about my lint trap on the dryer! I thought the price was a bit high, but all in all, since I am addicted to eating ice, it was well worth it! Very nice and professional gentleman who knows what he's doing! I have already recommended him to some family members.

    This is a very difficult review for me since I have had very different experiences with this guy.  I wrote a review with my first experience (see 6/20/14) which prompted me to call him first and only due to that experience.  I left 2 messages over the course of a two week period with no return call.  I called one more time before moving on which he happened to answer the phone and when I told him I had called twice with no return call he said he'd come right over and did.  It went all downhill from there.  I got a very distinct feeling that I had made a very big mistake as I watched him work.  I am a DIY'er and so regret not having done my homework first because I could have repaired this myself had I done that. Very long story short, he attached a used timer that he had in his truck from some other job to "save" me money on ordering the entire part and told me that if it didn't work or failed shortly that he would put what I paid him that day toward the price of the new part.  He indicated at that time that it would cost a couple hundred dollars and was trying to save me money.  Well I researched the cost of that part and found it on Amazon for $73 out the door. and Sears for $92 plus shipping and tax for a total of $110.  That's when I researched how to fix it and it was literally a 5 minute job.  I called him again in the meantime, since he said he would take care of it, and he did say he would come out and put it in which ultimately I had him do since I had already paid him and figured I might as well get my money's worth, but his attitude was less than pleasant during several more calls regarding the part's arrival.  At one point, he got belligerent with me and I told him I would put it in myself if he was willing to send me half my money back. I thought that half was fair since he did diagnose the issue and he had come out the first time.   He declined that offer, but when he came to put it in, I detected a definite attitude.  Then he would get very friendly and chit chat with me about something totally unrelated.  It was a very strange experience to say the least.  I would not use this guy again. I might add that the amount he charged me was twice what a couple other guys would have charged had I gotten them.  Again, I found this out after the fact.  I certainly learned a couple very valuable lessons from this experience.

    Bob's Appliance Repair
    I thought there was something wrong with my mother's washer since periodically it would not fully empty.  I called several places to see if they could give me an idea of what was wrong and if it would be worth fixing since it's about 20 years old.  I called Bob and left a message which he returned the next morning.  I told him what the problem was and after asking me a series of questions, he knew what the problem was.  He explained that it most likely was not going into the spin cycle and that it was doing that since most likely it was off balance.  Once he explained, I knew for fact that he had hit the nail on the head since it always happened when she only put in a couple of things to wash.  I had one guy who had no clue what the problem was but was very willing to come out, at a cost of course, to take a look.  Bob shows me that he his honest, and definitely knows his stuff.  I would absolutely call him again if I would need any kind of service done an any appliance I have.  Integrity is so rare these days that when I find that, I look no further.  He's now in my "Angie's List People to Call' book.

    Over the phone we explained what was going on and he said he thought it was the igniter and gave us an estimate. We called him at 4pm and he came over at 6pm, as he had said he would. He said it was the igniter and explained in detail why it wasn't working right. He had a Universal igniter that usually can be used on any range, but not the cas with our Hotpoint range. We didn't need the range that evening and so he picked up the part the next day and came over at 6pm. He was done in 10 minutes. Price was lower than estimate which was a nice plus. It now is working great !!!

    Had no problem getting a hold of Decker. The girl who does the scheduling was very nice and I was scheduled in within a few days. Tom showed up on time and went right to work. He was very personal, polite and thorough. He even tolerated my thief (cat) who stole a little screw bag and some other little plastic part which I quickly retrieved. Tom knows his stuff and I highly recommend him.
