    We wanted central air conditioning for our 2 story house, with no ductwork in it. We were told by a couple other Hvac installers it would be too hard to install in our house, or would take too long and they did not want the job. We called Gearhart���s. Their sales manager Andy Luidhardt, came out in a couple days, looked our house over and said ducts could be run in our attic and in closets to cool our whole house. He was very knowledgeable and great to work with. He got back to us promptly with an estimate. We hired them for the job and they were able to start the work about 6 weeks later. The crew was friendly, polite, professional, punctual, and tidy. They cleaned up, vacuumed at the end of every day, and were careful to not track in dirt. They were also, the most quiet of crews we have ever had doing work in our home. They were careful to place the duct pipes in the least obtrusive places in the closets. We were very pleased with the installers. Our air conditioning is quiet, works well and we are happy! During the installation we had an emergent plumbing problem, nothing to do with the air conditioning. We called them and they had someone out to our house within a 1/2 hour to fix our problem. They are a great company to work with!

    We called Mr King for installation of air conditioning in our home. We really wanted ducts installed for total house central air conditioning and if that was not feasible then were considering ductless mini split systems. We made an appointment with him to come to our house. He was prompt and came on the appointment date. He seemed to think the ducted total house air conditioning would not work for us but told us he could install the ductless mini split systems. He seemed knowledgeable and was polite and said he would get back to us with some estimates. We never heard from him again. No phone call that he changed his mind, or could not, or did not want to do the work. After not hearing back from him we called another company who has since installed ducts in our attic and closets to give us the type of central air conditioning we wanted.

    Woke to cold house, called another contractor from Angie's list, even before trying repair the furnance said I needed a new furnance which was odd & looked at other reviews of that company and it seemed to their m.o. (had reviews describing a word for word sales lines). So called United Home comfort, they fit me in, technician came and got our furnance working and offered a new furnance package I couldn't refuse. They came early and installed a new furnance in 5-6 hrs, no major issues. Technicians were knowledgeable and answered all my questions about future upgrades. Very happy

    I'm a renter, and my landlord called Gearheart to fix my air conditioner when their maintenance people couldn't figure out what was wrong with it.  They came out the next day and and added some refrigerant, which worked like a charm!  Until about 12 hours later, when the outside unit stopped working entirely.  My rental company was closed since it was a Saturday, but Gearheart was open, so I gave them a call.  Just a few hours later, the same technician was here and working on my AC.  He went and found the parts he needed, and got it working again.  I really appreciate the quick service- it gets hot in the summer!!   Would definitely recommend- very polite, punctual, and professional.  I don't know the price, since the AC unit is under my landlord's responsibility in the lease and they are the one paying for it.

    Upon waking in the morning, I discovered that some serious electrical issues had arisen during the night at my house.  Some lights and outlets seemed to work while others did not.  My sump pump acted strangely, the garage door wouldn't operate, the electric stove was inoperative, the refrigerator had quit working, and the air conditioner had quit.  I called Downey and was told that they could have someone to my house in about 1 to 2 hours.  A service technician showed up in about 90 minutes and quickly determined that I had lost one of the three power "legs" that fed electricity to the house.  He said that it was a power company issue and told me to contact my local electric utility.  I was told during my initial telephone call to Downey that there was a $100 charge to have someone show up.  The service technician told me, however, that the total diagnostic job took all of ten minutes and that his travel time was negligible because he actually had to drive right by my house on his way to his next job.  He told me that he would not be billing me for his service.  I was flabbergasted!  He gave me his card and said that if I wanted to compensate him for his efforts I should give them a call the next time I had an electrical issue.  His card now resides in my folder of preferred service providers.

    Terrible. I bought the new a/c & furnace from Tin Man in the summer of 2012. The salesman "Chris" sold me an a/c unit that was apparently not the correct size because on the day it was to be installed & the workers were here with it, they had to send it back & order a new one because it didn't fit with the furnace. I still do not know to this day if I have the product I paid for...No one will tell me or prove it to me. Show me the paperwork.

    That isn't the worst part. My a/c has never cooled my condo since they installed it. It has never gotten within 12-14 degrees of where I set it until this July, when they finally got it within 6 to 10 on a cooler day. If it is over 76 degrees, forget it! They told me it shouldn't expect my a/c to get but within 10 degrees of what the outside temperature is. How crazy is that? I called for a repair man repeatedly but nobody could fix it. I repeatedly asked them it they thought the duct work was hooked up and they said yes. Nobody would check it even though you could barely feel air blowing out the ducts even in winter. I had to keep ceiling fans and stick fans on all of the time. My utility bills were doubled and they said the new furnace & a/c were more efficient and would lower my bills. DOUBLED!!!

    I had an inspection done last week by another plumber in my crawl space and guess what? The main flex duct to the blower to the a/c and furnace were not connected!!! When they installed the new system 2 years ago they did not reconnect it. I have been heating & cooling my crawl space wasting my money. I know it was connected before because it was inspected before. This other plumber connected it in 15 minutes and my home is so cool it is fantastic.

    I called the owner and spoke to him. He even checked with the main repair man who came out & he admitted he never checked the crawl. The owner said he was sorry but didn't know what else to do. Well I do, refund some of the money I wasted on heating and cooling my crawl space. And prove to me I got what I paid for. How about lose of wage for all the time I had to take off work for your guys to "try" to fix my a/c but didn't. Well, there's a start.

    I learned a valuable lesson. You get what you pay for.
