Home Security System reviews in Blacklick

This was one of the worse contractors I have ever agreed to do work at my residence. Dominic was very unreliable and always seem to have an excuse why he was late to the job or why the project could not be completed within the scheduled time. Dominic, on one occasion showed up at 7am in the driveway of my neighbors house ready to begin the install after he had been at my house to give me the estimate. His workers used my ladders to install the cameras which should have been a red flag from the beginning. I would NOT recommend this company !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Switch over went well.  However, now that I have had the system for a year and half, I am finding out the flaws and hidden problems I did not think about at the time.  The system only checks out in once a month.  If that once a month signal is not received, Vector sends out a letter.  It took 14 DAYS for them to mail the letter to me that the phone was not checking in.  Why they could not pick up the phone and call me is beyond ridiculous.  That's malpractice in my book.  A security company that does not tell you when the system is down?!

Installer did not show for appointment.
When I called ADT, I was told they subcontracted the work to a local company and could not do anything about the appointment or charges at the central ADT customer service number. Transferred several times.
Called local company and told the system was down and they couldn't verify appointment, reschedule or provide a refund, yet somehow with a "down system" the customer service rep knew my name (which I had not provided). She said my name temporarily popped up on her computer and then there were error messages. No manager available.
    No call back with apology.
    Untrustworthy security company!

First off none of the equipment is reliable. Door sensors are affected by cold and will quit working. Motion sensors will be tripped by pets despite what SimpliSafe says. They flat out lie that pets under 50 lbs will not trigger the alarm. This is patently false, do not believe them. They even admitted to me on the phone that changes in light and heat can affect them! Also, the glass break sensors can be triggered by other loud noises such as something hitting the house (like a tree branch). I tried everything they told me. Re-positioning sensors, changing sensitivity settings, turning sensors upside down, replacing equipment, everything. The helpdesk is nearly useless and also unprofessional. Multiple times they would fail to return my calls or leave emails with questions unanswered and hanging. What is worse the help desk is only staffed until 6 Eastern, M-F. I often work until 6, so if I needed support I needed to wait until the weekend if I wanted to talk to someone. Their product is worthless, their service is a joke. If you are a SimpliSafe customer then I feel sorry for you because you are simply not safe with their faulty equipment. Stay away.

When I called ADT monitoring services the first time, they told me that they were not receiving a signal from our alarm unit.  They said I could trip the alarm myself and I would need to let the alarm continue for at least 60 seconds so that they could check the signal.  It was 10:00 at night and my infant was sleeping so I passed.  They told me to call back later, when it would be more convenient to trip the alarm.
I called the next day after the same trouble code appeared on our display panel.  Again I was told they were not receiving a signal from our unit. Again, they suggested I trip the alarm but after I expressed my concerns about doing so with my infant in the house, they said they would sent a technician to look at the unit instead.  The earliest available date was 6 days away!  I told them I could not even be at my house that day since I needed to be at work.  I expressed to them that I was home alone while my husband was traveling and that I needed someone to look at my system sooner.  They put me on hold with someone from scheduling.  I was on hold for over 30 minutes!  They person in scheduling was NOT able to get someone out sooner and since I could not get off work, the next available time that worked for me was over a week away!  They said that would credit my bill for the service they could not provide me.  The total time I was on the phone was over 45 minutes!   I would much rather have my alarm working and feel safe at home alone with my infant than have my bill credited. Plus the occasional beeping from the trouble code was getting really annoying.

I had a good security system in place and my contract was about to expire. My family regularly leaves one of our three freezer doors open because they shut it to hard or they shut the refrigerator and it opens the freezer door. We actually lost the entire content of our freezer several months back. Therefore, I inquired with my previous vendor if I could upgrade my system such that it would include sensors to monitor the freezers. Additionally, I wanted to monitor the alarm system via a smartphone App. My vendor was not capable of providing a solution.
I contacted Ultimate Technology and they had the perfect solution for much cheaper than I was paying before. The
system we installed can be monitored through Alarm.com, there are sensors on the freezers so if they are left open for more than 5 minutes I receive a text or email, if my garage door is left open after a certain hour I receive a text or email (you get to decide how you want to be informed), and if I loose power to a certain circuit I receive a notification. My in-laws no longer have to worry about setting off the alarm as we disarm it remotely via our phones. When My cleaner enters the house I get a notification as well as when she leaves. Even my wife is excited by this system and she does not care about new technologies. I would highly recommend Don and his son Dayne to anyone who is looking for a great experience at an affordable price.

I am very much pleased with the outcome of using SuretyCam. They were very professional, punctual and very thorough in making the system simple and easy to use. The installer was very meticulous and long hours were worked to prefect the system and ensure all of my security needs were met. The installer was dressed very professionally and neat. My house was left as clean and in order as it was when he came. I would very much so recommend the services of SuretyCam to anyone and everyone and I look forward to an ongoing relationship with this company.

I had ADT, Broadview (Brinks) and SDG come out to quote the job. Aside from their names the service is identical. One key pad along with the control panel is offered for either free or for $99. The monthly monitoring fee ranged from $30 (SDG) to $45 (ADT). I purchase three smoke detectors and a sump pump pit water sensor which all three charged extra for. All three also required a three year contract. I elected to pre-pay for the entire contract and reduced the monthly fee to $23. Overall I believe I got the best deal with SDG. The installation was terrific. The technician arrived on time, was very friendly, and thoroughly explained what he was going to do and how to use the system. We have also utilized SDG at work for the past five years and had no problems with their service.

After our fire we had ADT come in and install a house alarm with monitored smoke alarm. We feel better knowing that the house is monitored for break ins or fires. In our case early detection of the fire was the key.

Shelterguard subcontracts to a monitoring company. Shelterguard bills the client. The client pays the bill to Shelterguard. Shelterguard is then supposed to pay the monitoring company, but doesn't. You only way the customer finds out is by accident, unless you test your system on a regular basis. Otherwise, the customer will not find out until they have a fire or someone breaks into their house.
