  • I have AT&T. Finally they seem to be doing service very well because for years it was horrible. They are great now, so far they have been great. The last time the quality has been pretty good. I have had some times when I go 3 days before they could figure it out and get it fixed because they were going through too many changes. Lately it has been okay. They have been good about the responsiveness, one time it was horrible but now it is fine.

  • Security Alert! I took in my new blackberry to exchange it for a new one due to problems with the trackball. They transferred the pictures and contacts from the old phone to the new for my convenience. I specifically asked when they transfer the personal data from the old phone that it was also wiped clean of all my personal data. They stated of course it is. No personal information was left on the phone. When they handed me the new phone, I noticed this time bookmarks from the browser and passwords in the secure password keeper on the new blackberry wasn't there. A month earlier when received the new Blackberry Tour upgrading from my Blackberry 8830, they did transfer this data. I asked if they could still transfer this data, they stated it wasn't possible (amazingly they did a month earlier). I asked to see the old phone (they keep it since I had to exchange under warranty) to see if they data was still there since it didn't transfer. They reluctantly gave me the phone to check. MUCH TO MY SURPRISE, ALL MY PERSONAL INFORMATION WAS STILL ON THE "WIPED CLEAN" PHONE. All my contacts, emails, passwords, owner information, address - everything - was still on the old phone. Asking the girl about what she told me earlier (I think her name was Tisha), she stated that someone else goes through the phone later to wipe it clean. This is clearly not what she told me earlier. With identify theft such a real possibility with everything these days, their actions at Verizon are unacceptable. For the clearly lying to the customer to tell them what they want to hear is unforgivable. In the store, I kept the old phone and found the security wipe programs installed on the blackberry. I stood there for five minutes at the counter as I wiped the old phone clean before I would give it back to the service representative. I left the store with a few curt, yet courteous, words for the person. I decided not to ask for the manager as I was so upset, I thought I would cool down and write the manager a letter. Usually, when you buy a new phone you get to keep the old one so this wouldn't be an issue. But, if you have to exchange your phone or Verizon keeps your old one in exchange for a deal, be sure to wipe your phone clean. If they have to transfer your data first at the store, be sure to ask to see it after it was wiped clean.

  • THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS BEEN AWFUL. I'VE CALLED MANY MANY TIMES TO ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT MY BILLING AND SERVICE AS WELL AS TO RESOLVE PROBLEMS. WHEN I CALL I HOLD FOR 30- 50 MINUTES AND THEN THEY OFFER NO REAL ASSISTANCE. I HAVE ROAMING CHARGES ON MY STATEMENTS THAT I SHOULD NOT HAVE, AND EACH MONTH I HAVE TO CALL TO COMPLAIN ABOUT SOMETHING THAT THEY HAVE EITHER MESSED UP ON MY BILLING STATEMENT OR TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THEIR POOR SERVICE. I WOULD LIKE TO GET A NEW CARRIER WITHOUT BEING PENALIZED FOR DROPPING THEIR SERVICE BECAUSE IT IS SO BAD.
