    It had been a rocky start from the beginning. I had to call them 2 weeks after they fertilized to confirm someone would be out to mow the lawn. By then the lawn was several inches high, but the initial cut was well done. The next two weeks worth of mowing though they left clumps of wet grass and whole spots where they didn't mow. I gave some of this a pass as the weather has been quite wet.

    Second, they came out for the next fertilization and weed treatment. Upon my arrival home that day, to my absolute shock a number of perennials had been affected by the herbicide. In one case the whole bed of coreopsis was killed, the herb bed was sprayed and the parsley was killed, all throughout the front and backyard plants are now in various stages of death or at least fade and will survive through the season.
    The company was contacted and they sent their horticulturist out to inspect the damage. They left a note in my door stating someone would be in touch with me about the damaged plants and admitted it was herbicide damage. That was on 5/9/2014, I have not heard from anyone as of 5/13/2014. I sent an email on Monday letting them know there is more plant damage becoming evident. This time there is no response.
    As a retired Environmental, Health and Safety Manager, I suspect this was either direct overspray or improper concentration of the herbicide.
    I have since canceled all services. All damage has been photographed and documented.

    I've been a customer at my current address for 10 years, at my previous address for at least 6 more years. All I ever wanted was a lawn free of weeds, nothing more. For tis I was paying around $300 a year. Some years were good, some years not so good. All during this time my only real complaint was their persistent sales calls to sell me optional services. This year they've changed the and lsquo;standard program' to include some of the optional services I would never buy. As a result they've increased the charge of each application by $15, reduced the number of applications from 6 to 5 and added a and lsquo;start up charge' of $50. The result is, if I stay with them another year, I will be paying an extra $80 for the season. And what do I get for the extra $80? Fewer applications and products and services I didn't want.

    I saw this company at the Home and Garden show at the IX Center.  I decided to get a quote.  I received a follow up salescall from the salesman prior to even receiving the quote!  He did then promptly email it to me.  To fertilize my whole yard was out of my price range, however I was intrigued by their "Liquid Aeration."  I opted to go with just that one service.  I paid for the service at the beginning of March and my check was cashed shortly thereafter.  After this point, I hear NOTHING back from the company, even after being told by the salesman when I agreed to the service that I was "put on the schedule."  After hearing my mom had her Liquid Aeration applied, I emailed the salesman.  He assured me he'd contact the office and see what was going on.  Again, I heard nothing back.  A week or so later, I called the office and was told they were coming out "that afternoon."  Well, they didn't come (to be fair, it was a really rainy day).  After not getting a call to reschedule, I emailed the office.  By that evening the salesman had called to say they were coming out soon and a few days later, the application was made.  The person who applied the chemical was pleasant and called the evening before to let me know he was coming out the next day.  A bill stating I owed money even though I prepaid was left on my door after the application.  I had to call the office and get that straightened out, which they did.   I really wanted to like this company!  I think they have a great idea, just lousy customer service!  I probably would have agreed to have some weed treatment done and future fertilization completed, but now I just don't know if I want to get into the scheduling and zero communication mess again.

    UPDATE:  7/15/11

    I did receive a call from the owner of the company immediately following this report.  He was very polite and listened thoroughly.  He offered me a free service to compensate my troubles.    Now, 10 weeks later, I have heard nothing back, not even a courtesy call to let me know that they have not forgotten about me.  My biggest problem with this company was communication and clearly this issue has not been resolved.

    I used them last year, and I'm using them this year also.  I am using them right now.  They fulfill everything that they say they're going to do, and they do it at the time they say they would.  They are very dependable as far as doing what they say they would.  They always leave notes saying what was done.  They seem to take care when they're putting on fertilizers and other things.

    I met Bill from Jumpstart when my professional landscape installer had over booked himself and had Bill complete my season. Jumpstart impressed me with better results in just 2 visits, than years with my previous companies. I do water regularly, cut at recommended heights,aerate, and take pride in my lawn. Fertilizer alone won't give you a beautiful lawn.

    I would not use them again because they did a sloppy job. They mowed the lawn in 5 minutes and left grass clippings everywhere. They also had a strict policy that you can't cancel mid-season. They have you sign a contract to that affect. So even though I didnt like the service, I was stuck for the season. Also, the contract was worded in a negative and unprofessional way. I just would not recommend them.
