    John was hired for exterior repair, painting and staining on April2017. I paid $1000 down to start work May2017. John did not start until June2017 and stated due to weather and other projects. He asked for $500 more, then 3 days later stated he needed $3000 to get materials, then 5 days later said he needed remainder to pay workers putting me on the spot in front of his team and to complete the work. John said he re-injured his shoulder and due to turn in weather and other projects would pick up in spring. I was to be first on his list. A year later, April2018, John stated he needed to order shutters and would finish up in 1 day. Exactly one month later, I reached out to John because I had not heard from him and has not returned my messages left at all methods used previously - business and cell, text, email. I hired John because he was our deceased parish priest���s nephew who came across as not only as trustworthy but also adamant that he stood by his work even if a year or two had passed, he���d fix. John was also listed on Angie���s List which I used for a half a dozen different types of contractors last year for different projects and all fulfilled their contracts except for John. The following are examples of parts of the contract and have been paid for: Pressure wash home - not done House - Replace any rotted wood. John caulked instead. Caulk is failing and/or missing and is visible. Deck - Replace/repair any rotted wood/lattice with pressure treated wood. John short-cutted and either did not replace boards or partially replaced. New hand rail is bowing and coming apart at joints. Caulk and stain are failing and in some areas missing all together. One side of deck lattice was never completed because John said he needed to get longer nails. Also was to align 2nd deck step and secure then adjust lattice. Gutters - scrape, sand, prime, caulk open gaps, seal - paint is peeling off and caulk failing in gaps. Pitch gutters proper - not done properly. Garage door repair - failing Shutters - replace - took old shutters and the boards behind them to match up, but has not returned with either Extend sump pump - not done In doing the work, the following remains at issue: Landscape damaged - grass and plants Outdoor thermometer broken. Only bracket remains. Stain was splashed all over car when team took shelter in my garage during a downpour. Porch rail is detached after worker painted that part of house. I have attached some pictures of John���s work. I need the work finished and hope that Angie���s List can help to get this resolved quickly. One can only pray that John stands by his word and work. If still to no avail, I will do whatever is necessary to get this resolved and avoid others the stress that this has caused to me and my family. No one deserves to be treated this way. No more excuses.

    I would strongly advise any potential customer to find an alternative to The Remodeling Group - Window Depot. My experience with them has been disappointing. Upon initial consultation, a very friendly and professional agent provided us with a wonderful and enticing presentation. He lauded the virtues of working for Tony Hoty a local businessman. The window sample he brought up seemed to be of good quality. He again spoke to the fact the windows were manufactured locally, and particularly extolled the virtues of triple pane glass. He assured us that each service the Group provided was completed by specific teams, thus assuring expertise with each service provided. We decided to purchase a gutter protection system as well as replacement triple pane windows for 7 of our windows and provided a $1500.00 down payment in May 2016. The gutter protection system was installed in a very timely manner. The team was quick and professional. They needed an extra piece which was installed the following day. Unfortunately the system failed on our very first rainfall. The "expert" installation team had failed to redirect one of our downspouts, causing water to flood over the gutter beneath it. We were surprised that this step had been missed by the installer, but it was remedied quickly and effectively. We thought all was well, not realizing that this merely foreshadowing for the problems we would encounter once the windows arrived. Of the 7 windows, one was completely mis-measured. As this was not discovered until the old window was removed, the old window was replaced, but we had to wait until a new one arrived, all the while with no trim around it. The most alarming problem is that all the windows that were installed, were double pane, as opposed to the triple pane that the company strongly advertises and for which we contracted. The owner has claimed that this was an error, but we have not been able to determine if this is true or if was some sort of "switch and bait." What I do know is that the installer had placed all the sashes in our home, and was about to leave, when I noticed that the windows did not seem to be triple paned. He acknowledged this, and I showed him the contract specification. He agreed that all the sashes would need to be re-ordered, along with the 7th window which did not fit at all. We also noted that the window treatments in our living room would not longer fit properly, as the depth of the windows no longer provided enough clearance for them. Even though two different agents had been to our home to sell us the windows and measure for them, neither of the company's "experts" alerted us that this might be an issue. Triple paned window sashes arrived within a couple of weeks. But one set of sashes was again the wrong size (different from the original mis-measurement), and had to be re-ordered. During the next visit, those sashes were replaced, and we erroneously thought all was well. Milder weather caused us to turn off the air conditioner and open the windows. We noticed that the top halves of the sashes stated slipping. This was fixed after two visits. However last week, we noticed that the bottom sashes are now slipping. The replacement screen was supposed to be delivered today. The sashes were to be fixed at the same time. We were just informed that the screen won't be ready until Oct 27th (hopefully). Although the installer offered to come fix the sashes today, we asked him to wait, and just complete (again hopefully) on his visit next week. Initially, when the company delivered double pane instead of triple pane and we found we would need new window treatment, we suggested that perhaps some consideration ought to be given regarding these problems. Tony Hoty seemed initially agreeable to this when I first spoke with him. However, as when I recently reminded him of this, as well as all the other problems we had had since then he became increasingly aggressive, accusing me of extortion and threatening legal action, if I filed a factual but negative review of the products and services he has so far provided. We have had no less than six visits, just for the windows and still await satisfactory completion. It has now been a year that we've had the initial work done. We find that the sashes do frequently require adjustment to work properly. We were assured that the triple pane glass would offer a significant improvement in noise reduction over our old window. In fact, if there is a difference, it is quite negligible. Both the the storm door and the gutter protection have done well. At the time I would have given Tony Hoty and his company straight Fs, but the year has given us a better perspective of the work done and we want to give the most earnest reflection of the work done. While our perception of the work done has improved somewhat of the test of time, we still cannot recommend Window Depot. The lack of professionalism started at the top with the owner, who became hostile and aggressive as problems mounted. Again we do not know if the the initial problem of the company installing double paned sashes when we had ordered triple paned was a problem of competency or integrity. What we do know is that if I, with virtually no experience in window replacement, had not noticed the switch, it would have simply remained that way.

    Initially their salesman played games with the pricing -- just like a used car salesman. Came in with a really high price and then dangle a lower price if you sign with them immediately. After saying no, I was latter called and then visited by a second/different salesman who offered an even greater discount and a free storm door. This game playing left a really bad taste in my mouth and although I did end up using them, I still feel I overpaid! The actual repair guys were wonderful and did a great job. The product is also high quality. HOWEVER, they sent the incorrect parts the first time, and didn't send enough parts the second time. It took three visits by different repairmen to get my job completed.

    I attended the IX Home and Garden show. I set up multiple appointments with a few companies for window replacement quotes. Universal Windows sales rep put no pressure on me and gave me the best advice. He also gave me the best price. It only took 4 weeks for them to manufacture my windows. The installer was on time, they completely laid out clothe over my carpet to be sure nothing got dirty, was very efficient, and had to replace 15 windows. They started at 9am and completed the job by 4pm. They did an absolutely beautiful job. The installer was very knowledgable and very professional. I am planning to replace a patio door in a year and will be requesting the same installer. I would highly recommend Universal Windows Direct!

    Overall the installation was good.  They were fast, and the quality of windows they had to offer was great.  We were able to order wood windows through them to match the style of window we were replacing, which few other vendors could offer.  We are very happy with all of the windows and we're glad we had this replacement work done.
    However, we had issues with how they did the installation.  We needed this replacement work done because the old windows and doors were both falling apart, and were covered in lead paint.  They told us they were certified in safe lead removal, however they showed up to remove the lead contaminated door and windows without even a hepa vacuum and no plans to isolate their work area.  We ended up providing the hepa vacuum and had to push the work crew to put up plastic to isolate the work areas.  Throughout the install, we had to keep reminding the crew of how to safely handle lead.
    I would hire them again for replacing windows only if lead were not involved.

    Work began on October 20, 2014. The workers were punctual M-F. Railings were taken down from front porch and then the front porch was done. Workers also began demo on October 20th. After demo was done electrical was completely checked in both the master and addition. Insulation was then put in the addition. Then new sliding door window was installed. Next, the drywall was installed and mud was applied. Ceiling was replaced in addition after insulation was installed. While waiting for mud to dry and be sanded other workers worked on updating fixtures and shower doors in bathroom. Painters arrived after mud was dry and sanded. Floor was then installed in addition. Then woodwork, new bedroom door, closet doors, ceiling fan and outlet and vent covers. The job was completed on November 7, 2014.
    I was very impressed with how neat all the work was done. Each day the workers cleaned up and took all trash out. Each person that came in showed such pride in their work. I would recommend Remodel Me Today to anyone that needs a reliable contractor who is very reasonable in their estimates.

    I called Lou in October 2012 after reading positive reviews on Angie's List to reframe and rehang doors following a botched job. He camed out and appeared knowledgable and passionate and advised that the floor should probably go down next. I let him know I'd contact him when the time came for work to be performed. When I called in January of 2013 and asked if he'd be interested in doing the floors he seemed equally responsive and passionate. When setting up time for an estimate in February 2013, he missed an appointment. Following a reschedule he provided a brief email with estimates of the jobs to be performed. I asked for a formal proposal and contract and sent him an example of what i was looking for in this regard.  He said he'd follow up on a certain day and did not get the proposal nor the contract to me. When i followed up, he apologized and said he got caught up in watching the oscars. A day later, he sent a list of his terms that he works hourly, but no proposal nor contract for any of the work to be performed.
    Lou seems to be a nice guy, with higher than average price estimates which i took to mean his quality would be high. The service i saw from him and the lack of a formal proposal and contract made me think twice about his quality and his ability to get the job done in a professional and timely manner.  Either be aware that you'll have to be flexible and roll the dice on $ and quality or beware and look for a more professional company as I am doing.

D to F. You are still a nice guy, but unorganized and exceptionally shady.

    French door on slides. rick from radiant windows came in ad when over both kinds. 2 chose the slides. The owner came in and measured then the crew brought in to install. About 4 hauls to instal. They are excellent and with this heat outside I am not feeling it inside.

    Mr. Ollie and three others (members of his family) came to the house to do the work. They were very careful and very precise in their installation. They took care of a lot of little details when installing trim around the doors, window, and threshold. We were very happy with the work they did.

    I was happy and he did a tremendous job.  He was wonderful, very nice, very alert to other problems that may arise, and he would tell me about that.  They are our neighbors.  We didn't get in touch with him for anything urgent, so he didn't have to rush over here, but, he had the list, and got over here as soon as it got warm.
