    Kerrigan Roofing & Restoration LLC
It was an absolute nightmare dealing with Kerrigan Roofing. An independent inspection identified significant workmanship issues throughout. Kerrigan fixed many, but not all of the issues before walking off the job without completing it. They also refused to provide the company workmanship warranty letter to either me or the sellers who hired them. I recommend you avoid this company at all costs. Just about any roofer can make a roof look good from the ground, but the devil is in the details if you want it to last. The owner of Kerrigan Roofing talks a good game about the GAF brand roofing systems, but didnt deliver. The best roofing materials in the world are worthless if they arent installed properly per the manufacturers instructions. Kerrigan Roofing was hired by the previous owners of our house to do a complete tear off and roofing installation as part of the sale of the home. I met with Kerrigan and the home sellers prior to the roofing job to be sure everyone was on the same page, specifically discussing what was to be done about the wood trim. (Kerrigan stated the trim boards had to come up to put the new roof down and they would work with the seller to submit a supplemental insurance claim to cover the wood trim boards) Due to weather delays, everything wasnt quite completed by closing (June 2017). We closed on the house, but the roof was held open pending an inspection of the roof because of the unfinished items and other issues I could see from the ground including 1) wood trim boards were installed directly on the shingles (should have been a small gap) 2) trim boards were not painted, and 3) ridge cap shingles were lapped the incorrect direction. [CONTENT REDACTED ] There was a delay in having my roofer complete the inspection, so it wasnt until early September 2017 that I provided the inspection report to Kerrigan Roofing. Kerrigan came out to review the roofing report with me on the roof and the owner openly admitted his crew did a terrible job on the roof and agreed to fix everything, including and specifically the trim boards, with the exception of some areas where the shingles were just short of the eave drip edge. Considering the significant issues with Kerrigans workmanship, I decided to personally observe the Kerrigan repair crew to ensure they did the repairs correctly and Im REALLY glad I did. It took Kerrigans 2 man repair crew a full 2 and half days of repairs. They started Oct 9 with a supposedly experienced repair crew who I would have expected to know what they were doing, but that was not the case. The shingles were torn off both dormers and reroofed. Had I not been there to intervene, the starter shingles would have been installed incorrectly on the eave and not installed at all on the rakes, only 4 nails per shingle instead of 6, and they were going to start new rows on shingles towards the peak with shingle pieces as small as 6 inches. The crew was unaware of most of the basic installation instructions from GAF that are fundamental for a good install. I referred them to the GAF website for the 3 page instruction manual. When I inquired about coming back for the rest of the repairs, they said they couldnt come back the next day and that it could be more than a week before they would come back out. When specifically inquiring about the wood trim replacement, I was told the wood thickness was special order and that it would take two weeks to get it in. For the next 3 weeks I would periodically call the Kerrigan Roofing Office and owner to get a time frame for when they would come back out to finish, what the wood trim replacement plan was, and confirmation that they had ordered the wood trim, but kept getting the run around. When I got the office worker, she would refer me to the owner, but the owner would not take my calls or return my messages. The crew from Kerrigan finally came back out on October 26th for a full day. Again, Im glad I was there to observe and supervise. They repaired the shingles around the bath fan vents, around the vent boots, replaced the ridge cap shingles, ensuring they laid flat, replaced the shingles up one of the rakes that were cut short, and started to reroof the eyebrows, this time using ice guard and starter strips. Had I not been there to correct them, the crew would have again installed the starter strips incorrectly. When I asked about the wood trim replacement, the crew directed me to talk to the owner. Day 3 of the repairs occurred on November 2. The owner called me before the crew arrived to inform me that he would not be installing the correct wood trimboards because he had not been paid for the trim that was already installed and would not be doing any further repairs after today. He said if I had a problem with the trim that I needed to take it up with the home sellers. (Kerrigan must have forgotten about his previous plan for a supplemental insurance claim and follow-on agreement to install the correct trim during our walk around inspection). At this point, Kerrigan Roofing had jerked me around for more than 2 months about replacing the trim before leaving me in a pinch to get it done on my own right before winter. (Note: Its worth mentioning that I contacted the home seller about Kerrigans non-performance, and his insurance company paid out a supplemental insurance claim for the trim work to be done by another company exactly how Kerrigan originally planned to handle it!) The repairs on Day 3 involved replacing the eye brows this time putting down ice guard and starter strips. (Even after redoing the eyebrows, I subsequently found where they did not caulk the nails for the top row on more than one!) They also replaced shingles up the remaining rakes where the shingles were cut short, this time ensuring proper overhang of the t drip. This also uncovered an area where no starter strips were originally used and more areas where the metal edges were installed only with staples by the original crew. When they went to put down starter strips along the rake, they ran out and were going to cut up dimensional shingles to use until I stopped them and insisted they go get more starter strips and they did. On top of all this hassle, Kerrigan refused to provide a company workmanship warranty letter. After initially stating they would be sending the letter, they changed their mind and said the only warranty paperwork I would be getting was the material warranty from GAF. Additionally, I had the sellers contact Kerrigan for the workmanship warranty, and Kerrigan also refused to provide it to the home sellers. Kerrigan put me in a terrible position where the roof was done so poorly that I was faced with a decision to live with the shoddy work and take my chances on whether it leaked or not, or push for repairs. I pushed for repairs, but the repairs were so extensive that my NEW roof looks like its 10 years old from all the repair crews walking all over it. My opinion is that if you want to save yourself a headache and a seriously shoddy roof, avoid Kerrigan and go with another company. If you are brave enough to go with Kerrigan, read up on the GAF installation instructions and watch them like a hawk, or even hire an independent contractor to supervise their work. Trust but verify with these guys!

We discovered a leak in our roof on Christmas Eve. With heavy rain in the forecast and a holiday weekend ahead of us, we were eager to address the problem. The company was officially closed in observance of the holiday, and the on-call emergency technician had trouble finding an available crew. We thought we would have to wait out the weekend and hope for the best. But, unexpectedly, we received a follow up call from the owner, who personally found an available crew. They were at our door within an hour and quickly identified and resolved the issue. They showed us photos of the damage and the repair so we could see exactly what they did. We've seen no further evidence of a leak since.

I called for an inspection appointment and received a call back from Kevin in a few hours.  He was available the next morning to come out and look at our gutters and give an estimate on their leaf relief installation.  We bought a house a few months ago and had leaks from our gutters, so we were wondering how badly they were clogged with leaves.
Kevin arrived promptly at the appointment time.  He walked around our entire roof and checked all of the gutters.  He found 3 paper clips, a tennis ball, 2 parts of shingles that the roofers had left, a toad, and 1 leaf, all of which he removed from the gutters.  The tennis ball had clogged one of the downspouts and was keeping the water from draining.  Otherwise, our gutters were clean.
Kevin didn't tell me our gutters needed to be replaced.  He did point out a couple of gutter spikes that need to be pushed back in. He didn't try to push me into buying the leaf relief.  He didn't charge me for unclogging the drain or removing the items from the gutters.
Kevin was professional, knowledgeable, and courteous.  When we need a new roof or gutters, we will certainly call him to do the job.  His honesty was appreciated, and his willingness to take care of the customer was apparent in how he handled the visit today.  I will be recommending him to our friends and neighbors.

We asked Kerrigan to replace the boots around all the vent pipes on the roof. We could not be home during the repair. Kerrigan asked if it would be OK to leave the estimated payment that they had given us, on the door and they would take care of the repairs. We arrived home to the new repairs and the invoice on the front door. The work was very well done.

They were horrible. They really butchered the valleys and the shingles were starting to warp. We were having a lot of the shingles, the gravel was coming off and plugging up the gutters and everything. We got in contract after the hair storm, but it took them a year and a half before they were finally able to do our roof. Like I told them, I didn't care how long it took as long as we got a good job. I didn't want them using people just off the street to knock it out and everything. I wanted the bad wood replaced, I even wrote it in the contract that it would be replaced at such and such a cost. Finally when they got around to it they could rip it off and put a new one on. The roof was all warped. They came out and tore up some places and put new wood under certain areas in the front and still when you walk on it it's weak in some spots. They ended up taking the whole back off and redoing the back which was good. Then after about a year or maybe it was six months I called them about the way the gutter valleys were warping and the shingles just did look right and were just kind of bubbling up in high places and sometimes and places in others and at first they said yea we'll come out and then called back a couple months later and said nothing we can do. So the came out, I have to give them credit on that part of it. They did come out and re-do it, but after I had to jump through hoops and get in there personally and talk to the guy the charge in the Dayton office and all that, and threatening. It left me scratching my head to be honest with you. I heard they were a good company and neighbors in our area got stuff done quick and good. For us they didn't do a good job at all. I give them credit that they did come out after a year and re-do the roof in the front there because they had messed it up so bad. I hate to trash the company. They were horrible at times but at times they did come out and did fix it.

They were pretty competitive. The crew that we had come in, there are 3, they did a good job, worked pretty efficiently, the end product is very good, they did it pretty quickly, so I was real happy with that finish product. I don't have any problems with them at all.

Kerrigan Roofing did everything they said they would do and more. My roof was completed in one day and that included tearing off the old roof. They handled everything from dealing with my insurance company to ensuring the job was completed on time with everything they promised. They also left no evidence they replaced my roof. All of my landscaping was not disturbed and they left everything as it was before. They also painted all the stacks and vents on my roof to match the new roof. Totally unexpected but a great touch to make everything look seamless. I would absolutely use Kerrigan again, if needed and would highly recommend them. Very professional along with outstanding service!

Crew cam early in the morning and was done by noon - incredibly fast. They dropped a screewdriver and broke a glass table but compensated for loss. Had some leak problems after but they were fixed.

Kerrigan Roofing showed up to do the roof before I left for work in the morning and when I came home from work they were nearly done, it was amazing at how quickly and professionally they worked. Shortly after the roof was finished Kerrigan Roofing called to schedule the other repairs that were necessary and by the end of the week all the work was completed to our satisfaction.

Kerrigan Roofing tore off and and installed my roof all in one day. If I didn't know, I would have never know they had been there. They also did small things like paint the roof vents and exhaust pipes to match the roof, which was totally unexpected but greatly appreciated. The damage was due to a major hail storm and they took care of everything with dealing with the insurance company, which was a great relief on my part. From start to finish I basically did nothing. Kerrigan took care of everything.
