How to Hire the Best Plumber, Plumbing Tips

Handyman reviews in Bedford

    Delauro Remodeling & Repair Co
I had plumbing, electrical and carpentry work done on my bathroom by Delauro Remolding. Although the ending cost was more than I initially intended to spend, I was very satisfied with my ending results. I now have a beautifully finished updated bathroom. Mr Delauro and his team were very professional about the work but also very friendly. I would definitely use them again for future projects as well as recommend them to others.

Neatnicks arrived on time. Started to work right away and did not let a minute go to waste and did all this work in record time. I can't say enough for this company and the two gentlemen that did all the work. When they replaced one of the light fixtures Adam said lets put in a new light bulb so you don't have to get up on a ladder and change it for a long time. Most workers would not even care if I had to change it soon or not. I would recommend these two guys and the Neatnicks company to anyone who is looking for a company that does a great job and has caring people that do the work. Adam is coming back soon to replace a door bell that has not worked in a long time. So yes I will use this company again for other jobs that need doing.

    European Handyman
Dietmar is the best handyman we have ever hired.  My kitchen faucet broke over the weekend and we had used Dietmar several times before and were extremely happy with his work .  He had installed doors, fixed kitchen and bathroom drawers plus toilet repairs for us.   I emailed him and within an hour he had called us back to set up a date and time.  I appreciated his promptness and quality of work.  We will continue to hire Dietmar for additional projects in the future.

From the person who schedues the appointmets (Kim) to the person who did the work, I could not have asked for more pleasant and professional people. James, I think that was the young man's name, was on time and worked steadily from the time he arrived until he left. He finished the original job I asked for in less than two hours, so he was able to do the additional job of caulking. I have absolutely no complaints!

    Neatnics The Home Repair Co
I called Neatnics Home Repair Company on 9/28/15, to do some handy man work around my house. At that time I asked how much did they charge per hour.  The nice young man said that they charge $145 for the first hour and $90 per hour for each hour that their company are in the home.  I had two faucets installed, one faucet fixed, cleaned fan cover and a cabinet in my bathroom installed and I wanted a toilet in my upstairs bathroom installed.  Toilet could not be installed at that time, just the old one removed because the floor had to be repaired first.  They did haul all old materials away.  On 10/5/15, two guys showed up to my house.  They were the nicest most polite men.  Very professional, well dressed and just real nice to even talk to.  Both of the guys did an exceptional job with what I wanted them to do, and I do appreciate that.  One of the young men even went back to the store for me to exchange one of the faucets that did not have everything in the box.  You just cannot beat that kind of customer service.
My only complaint is that when I was initially told over the phone how much it was going to cost to do the job mentioned above, I did not know that I would be paying for each man that was in my house the same price per hour.  It was just the two of them, but I paid $717.75 for the job.  One guys hours was 4.75 and the other was 3.50.  I was charged for 8.25 full hours all together.  One arrived at 10:45 am and the other at 12 pm.  Both left at 3:30pm.  10% was taken from the total charge.
One reason I am sending this note is because my husband is still having a problem with the amount charged.  He thought that it was not fair to quote a price on the phone, then the amount is different when it is time to pay. I did not know that each service tech would receive $90 per hour.  I had to pay them once I saw the receipt stating that both get paid per hour.
I just don't want this to happen to anyone else.  Please ask if the charge is for each service tech that enters your home.  If I would have known that it was for each service tech, I would have continued searching for other options.
    Thank you for your time.
    Have a good day!

I got this fix for my son and he lives at another address, as a matter of fact it was a gift.  I guess everything went well because I went over to take a look at it and it was done really well.

Mike met me on time at our investment property for the estimate.  We talked about the items I wanted done to the home and he said he'd get back to me with the estimate.  After not hearing from him for several days, I was about to call him when he sent an email saying he had lost my number.
Finally after getting what I thought was a reasonable estimate, I asked him about timelines and when he could start on the projects. Initially he had given me a date which was after the current weekend and that everything should be wrapped up in 2 to 3 days. They did get someone to start one of the projects on time, but after the initial try, they continually failed to show up when they said would, and failed to meet any deadline they had given me.
They failed to show up and have the jobs completed by a certain date on at least 3 different occasions when I was specifically told that they would be completed. The worker(s) also failed to show respect for the property. When they did show up as it was their habit to smoke on the front porch and throw their cigarette butts on the sidewalk and in the flower bed areas directly in front of the property.
Their first attempt at the paneling job in the basement looked completely amateur. The wood blocks providing backing behind the paneling were clearly visible above the line of the paneling, and it wasn't cut square to the ceiling it butted against. They did correct that problem, but it still looks as if someone tried their best freehand saw job as it doesn't sit square with the ceiling above.
Probably the most egregious of errors was their attempt at removing sticky carpet padding residue from one of the bedrooms. While using some type of residue remover on the oak floors, one of the workers had obviously left the container directly on the hardwood overnight, with probably a towel or something else that had the compound on it next to it. This is how I found one of the rooms when I stopped by to inspect the progress of work, and the poly covering the floor had turned into a sticky mess in several areas, and you could also see where it had been eaten away in the shape of the container bottom.  Needless to say I now had to have the floors refinished.
At this point I told Mike that I wasn't happy with his services and wanted to use someone else to finish the remaining projects. He was adamant that he would correct the issue by sanding and refinishing the floors. I questioned him on his experience in this area, and I was told that he had done many different sanding jobs and knew how to handle them. My next mistake was letting him and his crew try to tackle this job, as they were completely incompetent and obviously had no experience refinishing hardwood floors. I even let them complete a second sanding job, as they claimed the residue from the first job hampered them. Part of the job they did was actually hand sanding the floors. They looked horrible and amateurish, and you could see varying lines where different types of sanding occurred, and you could see valleys and other areas that were not uniformly sanded and/or the poly had not taken.
I would not recommend his company for anything but the most basic of handyman services. If you do, I would get project timelines and dates in writing before agreeing to any work with these guys. As a note, I keep a lock box on my property and they had the combination so that they had free and open access to the property.
