The job was very well planned, with minimal disruption to our meal preparation and lives. Work was scheduled to complete kitchen remodel in time for Easter holiday dinner with our family. With new configuration, the kitchen is much easier to work in (I am disabled); the old buckled laminate flooring was replaced with smooth sheet vinyl to facilitate mobility; and the entire kitchen looks bigger and brighter with the new doors and countertops, even though the work was all done within the original footprint. We LOVE our new Kitchen by LoGrasso! It is truly a pleasure to work in this revitalized space. The entire crew was very professional and highly skilled, and actually made is a joy to be living in the middle of a remodel zone for 2 weeks. They turned a 65+ year old kitchen into a refreshed, modern, light-filled place of beauty. I can't thank them enough, or praise their workmanship and work ethic enough. What a pleasure to work with this team!

I contacted the owner (Ron) to schedule an appointment for an estimate regarding installation of a new kitchen floor. Ron called me back and we scheduled an appointment for later in the week. On the day of the appointment, Ron is a NO show! He didn't call to say "I'm running late, my apologies", etc... Instead 30 minutes after he was scheduled to be at my property he calls and tells me that he has to go to the other side of town and asked to reschedule for later! Very unprofessional!

Mr. Nagy told me the job would be done in 3 days, and we pre arranged the date. I took the week off from work to get this work done. He did not contact me to tell me what time he would arrive to do the work. I texted him and he said his "machine broke down, and he might need extra days." He texted me a few days later saying he could start the job on Tuesday, but he needed supplies and wanted a check for $350.00, which I gave him. Tuesday morning I received a text that he was "running late because he had to take his son to work." He arrived at 10am, sat in the drive way on the phone for 30 minutes and came into the house. He brought in his floor sander and then told me he "injured his back and had to go home." Wednesday, he arrived at 0930, sat in his van for 40 minutes, came in and sanded a section of the floor, then the sander stopped. Complete silence in the room. I went up to see what was going on and he was texting on his phone. He said things were "fine." After an hour, he resumed and sanded for another twenty minutes then left the premises. After two hours, I texted him and asked if he was returning and he said " First thing in the morning. Sorry my back locked up again . I will be done though before you leave." (meaning the end of the week.) Thursday, he arrived around 0930 and again sat in the van for 20 minutes. When he came into the house I told him that I cannot give him any more days to work on the floor. That same day, he called me and said that he was keeping $150 for his time and would refund he $200. I agreed with him and confirmed that in a text. Unfortunately, he "did not bring his check book." Subsequent texts about sending me a check for the money have been met with " I will send the check tomorrow." It has been over a month, and I have yet to receive my part of the money.

    Cleveland Floor Coverings International
I truly enjoyed the experience with Floor Coverings International. The installation was done to my satisfaction and in a timely fashion. The carpet selection definitely makes a statement . The price was reasonable and financing was available. Thanks for making our remodeling a sucess. Messiah International Ministries. Bedford, OH.

    Ohio Home Pros
Appointment scheduled with Ohio Home Pro (Garfield Hts) several weeks in advance and I did what they asked -   purchased the tiles in advance and had them ready for installation.  Was told it would take 2 days, so I took 2 days of vacation time from work.  Ohio Home Pros (Eric) never showed up and never called to explain why.  I left several messages over the next few days and  received no response, apologies, or explanations.  I am shocked at the level of unprofessionalism and unreliability of this company.   THINK TWICE BEFORE USING OHIO HOME PRO.  You may be sorry!  Very unethical company!

I got this fix for my son and he lives at another address, as a matter of fact it was a gift.  I guess everything went well because I went over to take a look at it and it was done really well.

Zsabi Farkas was punctual, set up his equipment and got right to work.  It took him a total of about 5-1/2 hours to complete the job.  It looks like a brand new floor.  I am so happy with the work that Zsabi did.  He was professional and thorough and willing to answer the questions that I had.  Because my hallway is small (about 5-1/2' by 13', he informed me that he would have to charge his minimum price of $500.  I accepted that and then told him I found him on Angie's List and he immediate gave me a 5% discount.   I would use him again in a N.Y. minute.  Thanks again, Zsabi.

    Arslanian Brothers
We have used them before, about eight years ago.
Call center was easy to work with. They scheduled us very quickly for an appointment, though puzzlingly they asked us to call again the next day to be sure our appointment was as confirmed.  A little confusing, but we did.
The cleaners came promptly, were professional in their demeanor.  All carpets in the house were cleaned.  Received advice about a carpet repair, which will be done in future.  They did a great job other than that a couple of old red stains could not be completely removed--not their fault, the stains were pretty old.
We'll be using them again in the future, it just won't take eight years this time!

Mike met me on time at our investment property for the estimate.  We talked about the items I wanted done to the home and he said he'd get back to me with the estimate.  After not hearing from him for several days, I was about to call him when he sent an email saying he had lost my number.
Finally after getting what I thought was a reasonable estimate, I asked him about timelines and when he could start on the projects. Initially he had given me a date which was after the current weekend and that everything should be wrapped up in 2 to 3 days. They did get someone to start one of the projects on time, but after the initial try, they continually failed to show up when they said would, and failed to meet any deadline they had given me.
They failed to show up and have the jobs completed by a certain date on at least 3 different occasions when I was specifically told that they would be completed. The worker(s) also failed to show respect for the property. When they did show up as it was their habit to smoke on the front porch and throw their cigarette butts on the sidewalk and in the flower bed areas directly in front of the property.
Their first attempt at the paneling job in the basement looked completely amateur. The wood blocks providing backing behind the paneling were clearly visible above the line of the paneling, and it wasn't cut square to the ceiling it butted against. They did correct that problem, but it still looks as if someone tried their best freehand saw job as it doesn't sit square with the ceiling above.
Probably the most egregious of errors was their attempt at removing sticky carpet padding residue from one of the bedrooms. While using some type of residue remover on the oak floors, one of the workers had obviously left the container directly on the hardwood overnight, with probably a towel or something else that had the compound on it next to it. This is how I found one of the rooms when I stopped by to inspect the progress of work, and the poly covering the floor had turned into a sticky mess in several areas, and you could also see where it had been eaten away in the shape of the container bottom.  Needless to say I now had to have the floors refinished.
At this point I told Mike that I wasn't happy with his services and wanted to use someone else to finish the remaining projects. He was adamant that he would correct the issue by sanding and refinishing the floors. I questioned him on his experience in this area, and I was told that he had done many different sanding jobs and knew how to handle them. My next mistake was letting him and his crew try to tackle this job, as they were completely incompetent and obviously had no experience refinishing hardwood floors. I even let them complete a second sanding job, as they claimed the residue from the first job hampered them. Part of the job they did was actually hand sanding the floors. They looked horrible and amateurish, and you could see varying lines where different types of sanding occurred, and you could see valleys and other areas that were not uniformly sanded and/or the poly had not taken.
I would not recommend his company for anything but the most basic of handyman services. If you do, I would get project timelines and dates in writing before agreeing to any work with these guys. As a note, I keep a lock box on my property and they had the combination so that they had free and open access to the property.

    Select Grade Hardwood Floors

This is my second review for this company. Last year (as reviewed on Angie's list) this company did the floors in our previous home.

We had our floors in our previous home done by this company last year and we were so impressed with the knowledge and expertise that they showed that when we were able to buy our "dream" Victorian home unexpectedly, we did not quote this out. We simply called to tell them to come do the floor.

The floor in our new home is Tiger Oak with a Walnut decorative inlay. If you know something about hardwood, Tiger Oak is not available anymore other than through salvage. So if you want to have it refinished, you have to make sure it is done right as you really can't replace mistakes with similar wood. To complicate matters, the inlay was laid with the grain in multiple directions.

The home we bought was built in 1899 and was neglected in the past several decades. The floors had rot and water damage, but were worth saving due to the rarity and beauty of the wood. Brian was honest with us in that the floors would need a special sander due to the opposing grain inlays and told us even if we did not choose his company, to make sure the company we did chose had the right equipment (and explained what that equipment was).

Because Tiger Oak was not readily available to repair the damage, Brian talked with us about how we could harvest strips from the back of closets to repair the more visible damaged areas. He could have charged us a massive premium to track down salvage wood, but offered us an affordable alternative instead.

The end result was wonderful. The damaged areas were repaired, the floors were brought back to their original splendor and we are pleased beyond what words could express.

If you have a tricky situation with your floors due to age or complications, Brian's expertise is well worth at least getting a quote from. He obviously knows his work and is an honest craftsman doing the work.
