    I received an eye exam and glasses but could not see out of the glasses. I have been in glasses for over 30 years and know it takes time to get use to them but I could not get use to them they immediately caused a headache. They told me the RX was all they could provide. I spent another 100.00 and went to another eye doctor and got an RX that worked they agreed to put the lenses in my frames at Gemini and I have had no problems with the glasses since. But due to it taking 4 times to get the glasses redone Gemini would not replace the lenses when they cracked and said I already used my warranty.

    I had an eye exam elsewhere but my eye doctor didn't have any frames that I liked, so I found some at Stanton. As far as frame options, they have a great selection. While they push the 2nd pair special, I only needed one pair for wearing at night... They said they'd be ready in a couple weeks. Sounded great... but when I called after a few weeks, no, they're not done yet. No, we don't know when they'll be ready... This repeated for a good 2 or 3 months before they were finally ready. Every time I called to check if they were done (because they will never call you), the customer service was the absolute rudest I have ever experienced. The way they responded makes it hard to believe they can even operate a business. When my husband called and they were finally ready, the guy said he finally found the glasses stuck back somewhere they didn't belong. (Again, they will never call you like they say --- YOU have to call THEM.) My advice, maybe buy frames there for the selection, but go anywhere else for the lenses unless you're in absolutely no hurry and don't mind rude employees.

    It was a 2 for 1 special.  Limited frames available at $69, upgraded to $109 frames, which as advertised, would be $109 for 2 pair of glasses--excellent deal. Final bill was over $400.

    Didn't receive the voicemail notifying me the glasses arrived.   Had to go back for adjustments.  Don't see as clearly out of the Stanton eyeglasses as the original glasses (which are the exact same prescription).

    Won't ever go back to Stanton.

    They're very good. They took my insurance. They made the lenses. They had a good collection of frames and such. They took their time. It was a little expensive but other than that, very good. They have limited Saturday hours.

    I hadn't seen him for a while so he was kind of teasing me a little bit that I took so long to get back. He seems to be exceptionally good in getting the prescription set for the eye glasses, because the time before I went to somebody else, it was horrible. With his glasses now, I get 20/20 with them.

    Dr. Penny closed his office in Vandalia but for me it is well worth the drive to Springfield. He is so accomodating and his explanations about the examination and findings are very informative with emphasis on language that the average person can relate to. I have referred him to several coworkers.

    Had a little bit of a wait, but not to long. The doctor I saw took a very detailed time in explaining what was going on with my eyes, and what my options were available. I haven't been satisfied in a very long time with an eye exam. This was 100% above all the the others. The staff was very helpful in helping me pick out glasses, and to do the insurance. My only wish would be that they have a few more options in the lower end range on the cost of frames. A bit expensive for me, but you get what you pay for as always. Will be happy when the glasses come in and I get to try them out.

    We were very happy the way everything went for our initial appointment. A couple of days beyond the original and quot;guess estimateand quot; date, we called and the glasses were in. When we picked up the gasses we noticed how thick the sides of the lens were. We brought the glasses back and they were happy to accommodate us. They sent the glasses back to the lab to get the lens ground down a little bit smaller on the edges. A few days beyond the estimated day of return, we again contacted the office. The glasses were in. The optical tech, warned us that the edges were still very thick and we could decide whether to accept them or not. Upon seeing them, we opted to send them back a second time. At this point in time, we still do not have the glasses. While we wish we had the glasses by now, we are very happy with the professionalism and care they gave to us.

    Everything went great as usual.
    I wish modern technology would find a replacement for the irritating air-puff-in-the-eye test. Good thing they take the blood-pressure reading *before* the air-puff test!
    Also, the prices for glasses seem to be out of control. This is a general observation/complaint across all eyeglass providers, not specific to Fairborn vision center.

    There was no issue with wait time. I think Dr. Downer does a fine job. I think over the years we have had some issues with ordering my contact lenses and getting accurate orders but they always resolved those issues. But, it has been on more than one occasion where they have incorrectly ordered contact lenses for me. His chairside manner is good. The other thing about them is that Dr. Downer does not have a huge collection of glass frames to choose from.
