    Friedman Home Improvement & Masonry
TL/DR: Extremely late every day. Brought emotion and was defensive and quick to throw others under the bus when things came up. Bad job keeping the site clean. Not good results on the job - would never hire them again. Estimate/consultation went well. Jason talked and good talk, said all the things I wanted to hear such as being a professional, not bringing emotion into his work when plans adjust/change. However the execution of the work and expectations were terrible. First of all, our drywall is extremely thick and has layers of plaster on it. According to the drywall worker that Jason partners with, he said Jason told him to purchase the incorrect drywall which is why our walls are not as level as they should be. He said that Jason should have brought him along on the estimations so he could guide him on proper materials to buy. The drywall worker was more than 5 hours late the first day. Jason told me his guy would be a couple hours late, but by the 3rd/4th hour, I had to reach out to Jason multiple times to see what was going on. When I mentioned to Jason that I was chucking it up to just a one off occurrence and giving him the benefit of the doubt that this wouldn't be the norm, he became extremely defensive. Felt the need to mansplain to me how one purchases material at Home Depot, causing the tardiness. His worker proceeded to be hours late every day after that. It became a joke that when he said he'd be there at a specific time, I added 2-3 hours to that. Clean up was awful. Had to ask him to seal off all entry ways from the room he was working on but the damage was too late and crazy amounts of dust was everywhere. Also during his mopping at the end, he threw his cigarette butt on our kitchen floors. We had large cardboard boxes in our garage that we used during unrelated demo. After this work was done, our garage reeked of cigarettes. It turned out that the worker was throwing his butts in those boxes, as once we threw those boxes out, the smell eventually faded. Just a complete disregard for our home. Finally, the job took exponentially longer than estimated. It was a complete ceiling and upper wall job and he only had 1 person working it.

The Patch Boys of Montgomery County
Patchboys did a great job at a very fair price. From start (completed estimate the day after I asked), scheduled, work, and finished room (paint ready) it took a little over a week to complete. That was much quicker than I anticipated. Their team was fast, very professional, and thorough. I will be using this company again when needed. Rick B.

    Martin Ran Inc.
We hired Martin Ran Inc. to do a conversion of our garage into a bedroom. Once the work was done, there was no indication that this room was ever a garage. We found them to be professional, punctual, friendly, and the quality of the work was excellent. We will definitely call him for future projects!

    CertaPro Painters of Dayton
Justin of CertaPro was quick to respond and was responsive to all communications. Their painter, Irwin, was on time, worked quickly, did a great job. These folks helped us get a job completed that was abandoned by the horrible contractor we had hired previously who did substandard work and took personal property beyond what they had been permitted to take (we were having them do work on our Mother's home who had passed recently). The walls in the kitchen had wallpaper on them, which had been removed, but the walls needed final prep (some mudding), the drywall around a plug needed repaired, and all walls and ceiling needed painting. I will definitely recommend their services and Irwin in particular if requests for crew can be made.

    A&T Plastering
Steve is a ceiling cable heat specialist. He knows how to secure cable heat ceilings that are starting to sag and potentially fall due to expansion and contraction of the joists. He has saved our ceilings.

    The Patch Boys of Dayton
The home I moved into had an extensively water damaged window sill in the basement. They quickly repaired the damage with a water resistant product and showed me how to prevent the problem in the future. They showed up on time and performed the repair at the estimated cost. A pleasure to work with.

Superior Lawn Care & Home Improvements
Donnie and his crew repaired the drywall as I requested. When he came to measure we talked about replacing the insulation that had been removed from the ceiling of the garage. I added that to the scope of work and they did a good job of insulating the garage. They also put a vapor barrier over the insulation to protect it. Then I mentioned that now that the mold was mitigated I could start emptying the large POD I had in my driveway. I had to rent it to store everything that would go into the basement because nothing could be put in the basement until the mold was removed. He said he could bring an extra crew when he came to do the other work and that crew could empty the POD for me. So I added that to the scope of work. They finished all three jobs in one day and all to my satisfaction. I will definitely call Donnie again for several other things I want to have done in the house.

    Dans Drywall Repair
We were not pleased with them. Well, the owner was fairly professional. The work was not high-quality. They left a complete mess in a good portion of the house of plaster and stuff all over the drywall finishing that they did. There were tool marks and nicks all over the wall that I had to patch before I could paint. They left globs of plaster drying in various locations. They didn't cover all of the locations. The corners were done poorly. We were just not happy with the results for what we paid.

I highly recommend Donnie. He was trustworthy and frank with his price and suggestions. He always kept us in the loop and sent us pictures of his work. ( He worked on our rental house; we live overseas). He stained and fixed our deck and fence. Touched up and painted our walls. Patched up the drywall. Driveway had a void underneath the concrete which he filled with dirt and reseeded. He changed all our locks, did caulking, removed large oil stain in the garage, hauled the furniture left on the curbside by former tenants. He went to Lowes and purchased all supplies needed to do the work. Any issues were resolved quickly with a positive attitude. He was a pleasure to work with.

    Dave's Handyman Service
I left a voicemail. He called by 4 p.m. and said he would be by the next day between 5 and 5:30. He was a no call, no show and I waited until 6:45 thinking maybe his last appointment went over. He still hasn't called me and it's been a week. I looked past his B rating because he was in my area and a veteran, but this is just poor customer service. Why didn't I call him? I don't feel I should have to call to remind a professional about their job. This company will go down on my do not call list and if someone asks, I will spread the word.
