Snow Removal reviews in Beachwood

They only come once a day, and only when the weather broadcast announces at least 2" of snow has fallen. Most often the show up in the early hours before 5 am. They do not plow all the snow from the driveway. there is always at least an inch of snow left after they leave. My neighbor's driveway is plowed clean to the cement. They won't return the same day, even if the snow piles up over 2 inches. I've asked him to return on a day when it snowed throughout the day and evening and he got angry with me and said they only come once.

weekly lawn mowing was satisfactory, however, snow removal was very poor. Did not remove snow completely from driveway, always left about 2 inches on the entire driveay; would come at 4am and then never return when snow fall exceeded 2" the same day. Called the owner who basically yelled at me, saying "read the contract!". I was later told that this contractor has more than 300 business customers and residential is a very minor portion of the business, which would explain the sub-standard service on the snow removal.

They are usually pretty good about getting snow cleaned up, but we have had to tell them that not cleaning the snow from in front of the garage does mean the car in there won't get out. Additionally, while we know they have lots of houses to work on, sometimes it would really be nice to have our drive plowed long before it is time to leave for work. Otherwise, they do a good job, and haven't chewed up our yard yet!

Get a snowblower you will need it unless you don't plan to leave the house until 10:30 or noon. I know a big snowfall can catch us off guard but that should not happen to a plow service and its contractors. Unacceptable.

I am a REPEAT Eastside customer of many years...but NO MORE. Today is January 31, 2017, and I am tired from having to shovel my driveway free of MORE than 4 1/2 inches of snow...all before I could take my 6 year old to school. I ALSO have an older SPECIAL NEEDS son, and needed to get him out to the bus...down a heavily snowfilled driveway, lifting him up to keep him from slipping and falling (and taking me down with him). I called Eastside when I woke up, and found the driveway unplowed, despite a heavy overnight snowfall...no answer, so I left a message. After I shoveled, I called again and talked to a young man who said all the snow plow operators needed to go home the night before to sleep, as they had been working hard from the previous snowfall. He asked me if I expected them to work round the clock, and plow 4 times in 2 days. I replied, I expected his workers to work in SHIFTS, to make sure everyone was plowed appropriately -- after all, that is what the service is...SNOW REMOVAL. I don't expect them to burn the midnight oil in April or September...But JANUARY, YES!! I also told him that when I sign up, every year, I explain that I have a special needs son, and I need the driveway plowed by 8 am. The response to this was predictably lame. I have had issues with Eastside for the last 2 years, maybe they are overextended...I don't know, but am VERY disappointed and upset. I will not use them next year...so sad. :(

I have signing snow plowing contract with them for last 9 years. Apparently the contract goes for one snow season. Did not show up on 4/9/16 after a heavy snow storm. Called them, to make sure they come in but never showed up. We did not get lot of snow this year so it was a total waste of money.

On July 17, 2015, I contacted RS Home Services via email and telephone; and left a message requesting an estimate on exterior window cleaning and gutter cleaning.  On the next day, Adam Gray from the company stopped by my house and gave me a written quote.  Mr. Gray stated that, weather permitting, he could complete the work 4 days later.  On July 22nd, Mr. Gray called to let me know that he and his co-worker were on their way. They did a nice job on both projects; I paid them; and they were on their way.  I plan to contact RS Home Services again in the Fall to keep up with the gutter cleaning.  Also, I really appreciated Mr. Gray bringing to my attention a wasp's nest that was forming near my front door.  He provided me with a good suggestion on how I could get rid of it.

Used them for two years on snow plowing. I should have dumped them the first year. They were almost always late and sometimes they forgot my house. Also endured 1 1/4 years of landscaping. They waited way too long to start mowing both Springs. I had the worst looking lawn on the block and had to call them numerous times before they finally completed the first mowing. On the first year I did my own spring cleanup, but I asked them to do spring cleanup in year 2. I had to ask several times before they showed up. They were on time and material and the billing was reasonable, but they did not complete the job. They mulched a couple of beds, did not trim any bushes and failed to cleanup a pile of leaves by my house. In May I said "enough is enough" and moved on.

We have a pretty long, circular driveway. We had another snow removal service last year and we didn’t like it. That is why we switched to Eastside on the recommendation of a neighbor. It is okay. The price is okay and at least it is not expensive.

We hired the retired landscape architect from the Cleveland Botanical Gardens to design a complete redo of our 1950's vintage landscape in Shaker.     Eastside was one of his recommendations and Angie's list confirmed the recommendation.  We received two bids - the first bid was "time and materials" - very open ended and they would not let us pin them down on a full cost.   Jim and the team from Eastside came out three times to review our design, measure, and talk with our designer.   Their quote was a solid number that we could count on.   Not cheap but with what we were doing - we had to have quality.
From start to finish they were extremely responsive, flexible and easy to work with.   When we ran into a drainage issue that we didn't count on - they had several alternatives to consider - but had a well articulated point of view of the right thing to do.    We had one miscommunication on the design of one bed that could have resulted in significant re-work on their part and they were willing to do it.   Ultimately we found a path that avoided the re-work and which we actually liked better.   It could have been quite a mess but they were patient and open throughout the discussions.   To me that is a real indicator of a good contractor to work with - how do they handle a conflict.
